Helpfully summarized so you don't have to tediously read SECOND's trolling.

The insane never-Trumpers will be driven even more insane in the wash/rinse/spin/repeat/ cycle they mistake for reality.

MAKES SENSE TO ME

Quote:

One way or another, this is it. This is the part where the global capitalist ruling classes teach us all a lesson. The lesson they intend to teach us is the same old lesson that masters have been teaching slaves since the dawn of slavery.

The lesson is, “abandon hope.”

The lesson is, “resistance is futile.”

The lesson is, “shut up, eat your tofu, get back to work at your three gig jobs, service your school loans and your credit card debt, vote for who and what we tell you, and be grateful we don’t fucking kill you. Oh, yeah … and if you want to rebel against something, feel free to take up identity politics, or to march around town with posters of Saint Greta demanding that we stop destroying the planet. We’ll get right on that, don’t you worry.”

What? You thought this had a happy ending, that Trumpenstein and the Bride of Trumpenstein were going to ride off into the orange sunrise at Mar-a-Lago in a Trump-branded golf cart, having made America great again … or that Bernie was going to storm the castle, vanquish Trumpenstein, and set up something resembling basic social democracy?

I told you it was a horror film, didn’t I?

Bin offline a few daze (behind on the cable bill), so spent sum time catching up here.

Mostly bickering. A good stratejy to contain the damaj - keeps anybody not directly involved from reading it. Also redusez and dilutes any actual info being exchanjed.

Wishy - wuzup with your post from last Thurzday around 6pm? Took a reread to gess that you c&ped that from an old 6string post from sumwhere else? First I wuz thinking the forum got hakt and sumwun slipped that in there after nobody woud be reading it. You shoud edit it for clarity and put that shizz in quote tagz!

Bak on topic:

I am pretty sure this wuz a major screw up by Trump rather than a plot by Putin or McConnell to discredit the Congressional Demz and MSM with a joosy story that turnz out to be false. But still not 100%.

So, I listen to old news, in this case NBC, to refresh my memory of how the news is morphed to maintain the narrative even as 'facts' fail. 'Facts' are dropped day by day from newscast to newscast, never to reappear.

Here are a few highlights of the ever-changing 'facts' about Ukrainegate.

background timeline
Trump-Zelensky phone call reported Sept 20, 2019
News reports are full of references to 'promises', 'quid pro quo', and 'pressure'
Pelosi announces formal impeachment hearings Sept 24, 2019
Trump-Zelensky phone call transcript released Sept 25, 2019
News reports replace references to 'promises', 'quid pro quo', and 'pressure' with 'ask' without notice or retraction of previous reporting
Whistleblower complaint released Sept 26, 2019
News reports drop references to knowledge without notice or retraction of previous reporting

It was a whistleblower (a mole)
With knowledge (gossip)
About 'promises made' that were (no promises)
Putting national security at risk (no risk)
For a quid pro quo (no quid pro quo).

Well there were no promises, but there was pressure (no pressure)
For a quid pro quo (no quid pro quo).

And Giuliani broke several laws by negotiating with Ukrainian officials (there were no meetings or communications).

Pelosi claims placement of transcript on server is a 'cover-up' (Obama did the same) // (NBC) "it was made clear to the Ukrainian government that access to President Trump depended on its willingness to "play ball""

Still listening and will post more soon.

I don't have news gong all the way back to the beginning ... but here are a few highlights of the ever-changing facts about Ukrainegate.

Trump morphed Ukrainegate: Trump called for Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) to be impeached Saturday and argued that Republican voters in the state made a "mistake" nominating Romney.

SECOND, if you haven't figured out my point, all you're saying is that when confronted with a narrative with compelling internal logic, but that is at odds with the narrative that you've already learned (which has its own internal logic), you reject the unfamiliar in favor of the familiar. That's all that you mean by "inside" (when you follow the logic of the other narrative) versus "outside" (when you stick with the narrative that you're familiar with. Even if you don't explicitly know what your internal logic is, it generates a "gut feeling".)

Limiting yourself to either reaction is pretty silly. The question is HOW DO YOU HANDLE FUNDAMENTALLY NEW INFORMATION?

DO you handle new information?

We are taught from our first moments what to look for and how to see things. Literally, how to see things. When you give something a name, you make it a "thing". There was a neuroscientist who did an experiment on his daughter ... he never used the word "blue" to describe a color just to see how long it would take her to natively see it. IIRC, it took something like five or six years before she realized there was this other color.

Our culture gives us a filter to sift experiences. That filter extends to abstract things as well ... how nature works, gravity and electrons, how humans behave, how people are SUPPOSED to behave, money, society...

Sometimes, we see the same things in an entirely different way, and whole new picture comes into focus and it makes crystal clear sense. HOLY FUCK! moments. Those moments are blessed; it's called inspiration. Like the guy who saw the world map and thought that Africa and the Americas once fitted together.

But most of the time, it's kind of an intellectual slog.

When someone shows me a new way of looking at something, I don't trust it, but I do try to understand it. If I react negatively to it, I have to ask myself WHY. What assumption is it countervening? Is that assumption wrong? Has my assumption failed to predict or explain past events? Does the new way of looking at things work better to explain and predict the world? Does it make sense? How does it impact other things that I know? Sometimes I reject, partially or in whole, what I'm hearing. Sometimes I accept part of it. However, I've been exposed to so many new PsOV that I no longer freak out when I hear them. I have a large mental warehouse called "interesting if true" and I can pull those pieces out from time to time and see if they fit the picture puzzle that is the world.

You are kidding, right? This is how I handle "FUNDAMENTALLY NEW INFORMATION": I go into a new restaurant, receive my meal, find a rat turd on the plate. Do I send the turd out for scientific analysis? Do I taste it? No, I leave without paying, making the biggest scene imaginable. I am not tasting any scheme cooked up by Republicans. I tasted McCarthyism, Barry Goldwater, Vietnam, Watergate, Reagan's Star Wars, Iran-Contra, Afghanistan, Iraq, Financial crisis of 2007–2008, building more atoms bombs and missiles for Trump, expanding the Pentagon's budget, and I am not eating any of their cooking ever again. It is always another plate with hidden turds mixed in from the GOP.

Sigh.

Gee, for a moment there SECOND, you were almost thinking.

YOUR cult-like belief is that all Republicans are all bad, and its corollary is that all Democrats are all good. You repeat that mantra to yourself and to everyone else endlessly, every day. It would never occur to you that some Republicans did good things, and that many Democrats are corrupt power seekers who've not only sold their souls to the the globalists, they've sold us too.

Well, that's the filter you choose to stick with, and until you choose to wake up and look AT REALITY in all of its messiness, there's no reason to discuss this with you.
