Giuliani: Yeah, Maybe Trump Threatened Aid to Ukraine
To no one’s surprise, yet another shoe dropped today in Ukrainegate.
Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani didn’t rule out the possibility that the president threatened to cut off aid to Ukraine over calls for an investigation into largely discredited allegations against former Vice President Joe Biden and his son. Giuliani first said in response to a question on Fox Business Monday that Trump didn’t threaten Ukraine aid, but then added he “can’t say for 100%.”
So here’s where we are:
Phase 1: Nothing happened.
Phase 2: It doesn’t matter what I said.
Phase 3: I may have mentioned Biden.
Phase 4: It’s possible the president threatened to cut off aid to Ukraine.
The goal here is to admit to an impeachable act, but to do it slowly enough that each revelation isn’t quite enough to cause Trump’s supporters to bolt. Then, by the time the whole story is out, they’ve already defended pretty much every detail and have no choice but to stay on his side. And with that, Trump has successfully shot someone on Fifth Avenue and gotten away with it.

Former Ohio Gov. John Kasich got heated over allegations that President Donald Trump is pressuring Ukraine to help him win an election, noting the GOP would freak out if Barack Obama did the same.
“If in fact the president of the United States pressured a leader of another country to investigate his political opponent, if in fact military aid was withheld, now we’ll have to decide where we go from there, but we have to gather all these facts and information,” Kasich told CNN anchor Kate Bolduan on At This Hour. “I don’t want to get ahead of myself but I am very, very, very concerned about what is happening here. If we don’t deal with this, we become like a banana republic. ”
“Where are the Republicans? Are they hiding? If I were you at CNN, I’d be in the hallway asking all of them what are you going to say?” he continued.
Bolduan noted Republicans have been invited on CNN to talk about it and many have declined.
“I guess the Republicans are dismissing it in the House but you got to think about this from a precedent standpoint. Let me ask this question, not ask you but ask our viewers,” Kasich said. “If Barack Obama had made calls like this, people would be going crazy. Now, if the Democrats had done things in the past that were wrong, OK fine, but that doesn’t have anything to do with this. This has to do with where we are today and things are slipping and sliding and I am worried about our country.”

Unfortunately all the Trump supports here are trolls and could care less. After the 2020 elections and Trump is gone, if the democratic president so much as sneezes, they'll be yelling from the rooftops. The rest of us will be laughing at their hypocrisy of course. Even then best we don't acknowledge them but instead do as I do now. Continue to post around them instead of with them.
