What a juvenile take on the issues.

There is no bill, there is no clever tweet, there is no way of framing the climate issue that will cause Mitch McConnell to change his mind.

And apparently not understood by many either.

Quote:

1) Health Care

Democrats have a variety of plans, but almost everyone agrees that health care should be a right, not a privilege. That is why they support government intervention to make insurance more affordable and care more accessible.

Republicans remain committed to repealing Obamacare and letting the free market reign when it comes to affordability and accessibility.

Obamacare is a terrible failure. I don't know many rich people. The people I know who are doing well enough are just hanging on to the bottom of middle class, and especially those that live in Illinois, are being taxed out of it. My old man is retired and has VA. His wife is not close to retirement, however, and the premiums he has to pay for her health insurance are 5 times what they were before the ACA was enacted and the deductible has risen 300%.

Now that the tax penalty is gone if you don't have it, the only reason that it was passed in the supreme court, it's also unconstitutional.

Quote:

2) Immigration

Democrats support a secure border and a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants. When it comes to asylum-seekers and legal immigration, they support humane policies that align with this country’s stated values.

Republicans are committed to fear-mongering about immigrants and enacting xenophobic policies.

Another good story ruined by video footage. Here's your current frontrunner on the issue:

And he's just about the most moderate of the whole bunch.

In the mean time, building a wall using war funds, the fact that there is a new country that will accept asylum seekers south of Mexico so they legally can't come here, and removing people who are here illegally is not xenophobic.

Quote:

3) Guns

Democrats support common sense gun safety measures that, based on research, would reduce the toll of 40,000 gun deaths in this country every year.

Republicans have consistently refused to consider any gun safety measures.

Beto just said he'd do what conspiracy theorists said the Democrats would do
for decades now.

You really should be watching those debates you can't be bothered with watching before having any opinions on issues.

Quote:

4) Climate Change

Democrats agree that climate change poses the existential crisis of our lifetimes and have various plans to address it.

Republicans generally deny the scientific evidence of climate change and have blocked any measures to address it.

Both parties are useless when it comes to climate change, whether they acknowledge the truth of it or not.

What I see here is a bunch of faggots on the left who virtue signal all day long from their brand new smart phone every year that was made in China. Overprivlidged idiots that have no concept where the shit they buy is made, who makes it and what condition those people live in from day to day. All we've done is outsource our pollution, but it's a small world afterall... Just because we don't have smog so thick you can cut it with a knife in LA or hollowed out shells of what used to be great industrial areas like Detroit, doesn't mean that we're not still destroying the planet with our unchecked consumerism.

Quote:

5) Perhaps even more important than these specific issues is the fact that, other than racist fear-mongering and tax cuts for the wealthy, Republicans don’t really have an agenda. Instead, they have been content to simply block anything Democrats support.

Pot meet kettle.

Everybody up on that Democratic stage talks about race non stop. They live and breath race. They dream about race when they sleep.

Democrats certainly have an agenda in 2019 though. At least you're right about that. But

I'm going to vote for the Democrats. I'm not going to try to convince you, but I will point you to the history heading into the Civil War. The South could not be talked out of keeping slaves because the citizens of the South believed it was wrong to pay a middle-class wage to their black workers. The white workers were not treated much better. The Southern citizens felt that zero was the correct minimum wage. There had to be a War to fix the South's understanding of how to run an economy. As luck would have it, the losers started that war. When it was all over, the losers were still convinced they were right about the minimum wage. That has not changed, other than the minimum wage is not zero today, but it is still not high enough to live a middle-class life.

What also has not changed is that by its original design Congress can be deadlocked, where no decision can be made. For a time during and after the War, the people causing the deadlock had resigned from Congress. Finally, Congress could make decisions, but the mistake was to allow them back to deadlock Congress again. We are still living in the aftermath of that War and Congress can't fix anything because of the people who are deadlocking Congress. Congress needs to be either all one way or all the other. This Republican vs Democrat split, and the resulting deadlock, can't end without some serious ugliness.

Fortunately for the Republican voters of America, the GOP leadership is smart enough to not resign from Congress and start their own GOP legislature, unlike the stupid Confederate leadership and their new government with a Capital in Richmond, Virginia. The GOP will ensure the Federal Government in DC stays deadlocked.

Instead, we will have continuous shouting at each other, like in 1850, but this time about more varied economic issues than just the slavery issue. The disagreements between Democrats vs Republicans are about money, same as the First Civil War, whether the argument detours into minimum wage or health care or climate change or guns or immigrants or trade or tariffs or coal or welfare or abortion or taxes or the deficit or homelessness or the Texas/Mexico Wall or state's rights or water and air pollution or Supreme Court appointments for life or the Electoral College or statehood for Washington DC.

I expect many more decades of ugliness between Democrats and Republicans, maybe ending with a Second Civil War, maybe ending peacefully in a series of elections where one side gets a permanent majority so large that Congress cannot deadlock.

STOP BLAMING OTHER PEOPLE FOR THE DEMOCRAT FAILURE.

Or... Just keep doing it and losing. Whatever floats your boat.

I've got parable. There were two pilots on an International flight across the Atlantic for American Airlines. One was a Democrat. The other a Republican. They could not agree on what country the plane will land. Are they going to Jair Bolsonaro's Brazil with the Republican or Denmark with the Democrat? Most passengers don't actually know how far apart those two countries are, but they sure have strong opinions. Either the passengers and the stewardesses will pull one of those pilots away from the controls, and keep that pilot forever away, or else the plane crashes.

When does the American Airlines plane run out of fuel and crash into the Atlantic? Maybe never because the plane has been flying around for decades, never landing and erratically swapping between Democrat and Republican every two years in thousands of local elections. But swapping back and forth is why American Airlines never arrives anywhere. The plane is in constant motion and the passengers are grumpy, except for the ones in First Class, who have comfortable seats and tasty food and clean toilets . . .

lol... you're lucky I don't fly in your plane, buddy. I'd clog up your toilet, and there'd be nobody you could bitch to about it since we weren't on a return trip to the US.

Yup.

Talking to a hand picked audience who's so far left they'd make Hitler's corpse blush.

The Democrats want America to be Australia, not Austria where Hitler was born.

Australia looks good compared to America. It’s got the Democrats’ gun-control and national health insurance. It also has much higher wealth for people like 6ixStringJack:

The ranking by median wealth per adult favors countries with lower levels of wealth inequality and produces a slightly different table. This year, Australia (USD 191,450) edged ahead of Switzerland (USD 183,340) into first place according to our estimates. The median wealth placements of Belgium (USD 163,430), Canada (USD 106,340), New Zealand (98,610), the United Kingdom (97,170) and Singapore (USD 91,660) are similar to their mean wealth ranking, but lower inequality moves France (USD 106,830) up five places to fifth position, the Netherlands (USD 114,930) up eight places to fourth position, and Japan (USD 103,860) up ten places to seventh position. In contrast, high wealth inequality pushes Norway down seven places, and Denmark down 11 places, while median wealth of just USD 61,670 relegates the United States to 18th place, alongside Austria and Korea.
