My age definitely colors my perspective!
Also, when I was roughly 18 - 23 I was an EKG technician on the weekends and covered all the 'codes'. I calculated it out, and if I didn't see 250 or more people die, it was close to it. That has brought death into vivid reality and actual consideration.
Even if you're resigned, your body is not. It fights for one more breath, one more heartbeat. You're a helpless passenger along for the gruesome ride, all the way to the end. So I have yet to see a calm, peaceful death, without severe physical and mental anguish as basic body systems fail. As someone I know once remarked 'we treat our pets better'.
On reflection, I would rather spare myself that.
But then, on the flip side, most people have an inextinguishable desire for one more day, hour, or instant.
So while I think it's good to make concrete, specific plans for a peaceful exit, at the end, you never know if you're going to carry them out.
Well, those are some thoughts I've gleaned over my many decades.
And now, I'll move with the conversation on to more enjoyable things.

Just, yanno, a reminder that REAVERBOT forget to answer this question ... (as usual)
Quote:
REAVERBOT, it's not just the pesticide industry's profits that are being protected, it's farmers' (including corporate farms). Unless you've farmed - or at least gardened intensively- you wouldn't know that growing produce is a never-ending fight against pests of all kinds ... weeds, bugs, fungus, bacteria and viruses.
Our steady adavance towards Armageddon is propelled by profit. Money from those profits hold politicians hostage, that means most Democrats and most Republicans ... and btw most politicians around the world.
And you can't get people to engage in the problem because they're entranced by profit-motivated media.
Suggestions???
Quote:
So ... suggestions? Do you have a proposed solution for this madness, besides endlessly being a troll on a tiny part of the internet (Which btw isn't a solution for anything.) ?

Marcos isn't going to do shit about it but cry.
The only two things he's programmed to do is call people names and light trashcans on fire, and neither of those actions are going to save the planet.
Do Right, Be Right. :)

A math equation that predicts the end of humanity
How much longer till we all die off? 760 years, give or take.

Technological optimists say we have a long, populous future ahead (and we’re still early in that glorious destiny). It’s an attractive thought. We would, of course, have to surmount all extinction threats — right up to the moment of doomsday.
The doomsday argument pulls back the curtain on technocratic optimism. It forces us to contemplate the possibility that the universe is more random than we like to think. The fact that our species is capable of a long future does not mean this is probable. It may be something that has to be earned by being smarter, wiser, more careful — and luckier — than we’ve ever had to be before.
