In light of the permafrost / subsea methane releases study last week, and the nitrous oxide releases study this week, how are we not totally 100% fucked?

As title asks. Excuse me for not linking the referenced papers, as I am on mobile and it is a tedious process in the web form.

How do we even put this back in the bottle? We are not yet seeing the warming impact of carbon releases from the 90's, let alone the 50% of total carbon emitted since the industrial revolution began, which was emitted beginning in roughly 1995. We have no practical and scalable way to sequester that carbon, and our emissions are increasing every year.

We have no way to halt the permafrost failures in the arctic. We cannot sequester that methane, nor the nitrous oxide. Both of these emissions are going to continue to accelerate for decades, until a sudden clathrate gun event, thanks to their own compounding warming effect and that of the carbon which we cannot sequester. How do we put megatonnes of methane back under a polar ice cap which no longer exists?

Short of an actual, literal, fucking magical event, we are already dead. Even if we could flip off all emissions tomorrow, globally, we've already triggered a feedback scenario sufficient to kill us - likely within the lifetime of anyone under 40. Definitely, since our own emissions are unlikely to ever cease.

Like, this isn't even the slow burn mad max scenario people like to fantasize about. This is everything gets progressively shittier globally for a decade or two, and then we all just die at once when the arctic coughs up a lung.

Fuck.
