As interesting and sci-fi as the spoilers sounded, (and accurate too) it seems that the makers of Star Trek Voyager could have a legitimate case against Marvel for plagiarism if they felt the desire to pursue it.
I never watched Voyager beyond the first or second season, but my old man raved about the arc of the ending of the show.
Mike from redlettermedia is a HUGE Trek fan and almost always seems to sneak in references in most of his reviews. This one, however, seems more than coincidental.
And what was the title of the final episode that aired on May 23, 2001, you might ask?
Endgame
Try to purge the last few episodes of Voyager from your mind before seeing End Game, or else you already have a lot of the spoilers.

They weren't very similar IMO. It was a bad movie though. The characters make a lot of stupid decisions just so the directors could shoehorn in all the stuff they wanted. It's about 2 hours longer than it needed to be.

I'm sure it was worth the ticket price. Especially for those who've already invested in the first 20 or so movies.
End Game could have been the worst movie ever made and I doubt it would have made less than 2 Billion in it's full theatrical run.
So you didn't see any parallels to the end of Voyager? RLM made a pretty good case for it in a few short minutes before they got into their review.
They do a character called Mr. Plinkett that does great reviews of movies from time to time. They've done it for all of the Star Wars movies after the original trilogy and the last one they did was Ghostbusters 2016. What's great about the videos is when they do split screen comparisons of similarities and differences between movies. When I saw them making the comparsion between End Game and STV's Endgame, I began to suspect that this would end up being Mr. Plinkett's first movie review in two years.

If STV ended in 2001, I probably never watched. Same reasons for 2000 and almost same for 2002.
I might have missed the last few Avengers. Super Hero Drug Addict Downey repelled me, and Natalie Portman was no longer hanging with Thor.
The last GoTG lacked in plausible storyline.

Nah they're reaching pretty hard. I mean there's similarities but it's like saying every super hero movie is a plagiarized version of another because a hero fights a villain. That's just too high level to be plagiarism to me.

So, to revisit Captain Mary Sue...
Carol Danvers was a test pilot who flew a plane POWERED by the tesseract. It gets shot down, and to keep the aliens from getting the technology, Carol SHOOTS the engine, it explodes and because she is the closest living thing, instead of being simply injured or killed, she BECOMES the embodiment of that energy ???
WTF ?? You literally can't get MORE Mary Sue than that !!
And she's not just powerful, but THE mostest powerful in the universe ???
That's just lazy writing
