Damn the torpedos - full speed ahead. I'm all in - Impeach the lying f*cker now.
I thought Elizabeth Warren made a great case for doing so - stop thinking and hand wringing so much Dems, and do your job. Time to be agressive and uphold the constitution - give those GOP pinheads a taste of their own medicine and set the record for future presidents. No one is above the law - we're not a dictatorship. Time to make a stand and take action.

No prosecutor would indict if the case will go to a judge and jury who are relatives of the accused criminal. The judge and jury for Trump's trial will be Mitch McConnell and 53 Republican Senators. I know all of them, including Mitt Romney, would vote Trump to be innocent. Nancy Pelosi knows impeachment is a waste of time and it could actually do harm:
Absent public support for impeachment, and amid a strong economy, it would give the White House an opportunity to run the playbook Bill Clinton ran so successfully in the 1990s: Here’s Trump, focusing on economic growth, and there are the Democrats, focusing on their doomed vendetta against the president.
This is a strategy that would unite Republicans and split Democrats, and if Trump won reelection using it, then the harm to American democracy would be incalculable. Impeachment will backfire — strengthening Trump while weakening congressional Democrats’ ability to hold him accountable in the future. Far from protecting democracy and the rule of law, impeachment would undermine it.

I was on that side originally, and believed in the solid political logic behind it. But the mostly gutless Dems always seem to outwit themselves and hem and haw, and ultimately find ways to DO NOTHING. That's their thing and it's not a good thing. They talk a lot and end up doing nothing. So they'll strategize and guess (and it is a guess, no matter how much you feel you know) and hope to play the odds and wait, and basically give him a pass. "You're guilty but we're not confident enough to uphold the law just yet. But watch out! We'll get you next time!" And they shift to hopefully winning the election. With... whom? So Trump wins, and he gets another 4 years and outlasts the 5 year statute of limitations on obstruction. Trump wins again. That's a lot of winning for that pos. Face it - both ways are guesses. One way is more principled. Time for Dems to shake off their weasilie past and skewer the fugger - at least put it down on the record.

It will be quite funny to see Trump break another record and become the first American President to be re-elected after impeachment (or at least a sad, failed attempt at one).

I feel ya CC, but I'm with Second on this one. Look at Rappy, he really thinks Trump didn't do anything, and so will a lot of his base, most of them couldn't read between the lines to save their own lives. There are other battles coming I think.

That's because you guys are thinking like Democrats!
Trump will be prosecuted for other crimes for sure - the Southern District of New York for one - they seem to have a list and a well deserved vendetta against Dump.
As for now, either way is a best guess situation. The only thing you can really know and count on for sure, is that impeachment is there for this exact reason. Mueller's report is a trail of clues and instructions. Impeachment would also mean that if it was successful, some members of the GOP would have to acknowledge the need for it and that it was justified. That would signify a big change from the partisan gridlock we have now.
I'd also like to see him dragged over the coals on live tv. Have you seen any of his tv testimony from the past? I don't recall what it was for, but he looked even more like an old fool. That could lose him a boat load of votes. Giving him and the GOP more time to wiggle out of the sh*t he does in hopes of something better later, gets real old.

I noticed that there were no Impeachments between 1936 and 1986, but since then 6 people have been Impeached, 5 of them Democrat and the sole Republican by Dem House. Dem Houses Impeached each time, except Clinton.
