Quote:Last time I checked, the GOP lost control of the House of Representatives all because of Trump. And Trump people have been fined and jailed. And the National Debt is rising at a faster and faster rate, all because of Trump. And the Trade Deficit grows larger and larger, all because of Trump. And Trump is to blame for North Korea, too. That is the price a President pays when he personally runs a disarmament negotiation. Failure becomes all the fault of the President. The blame does not fall upon the President's Secretary of State.

Trump says ‘there should be no Mueller Report,’ calls probe ‘illegal’
www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-says-there-should-be-no-mueller-report-
calling-it-an-illegal-probe
“This was an illegal & conflicted investigation in search of a crime. Russian Collusion was nothing more than an excuse by the Democrats for losing an Election that they thought they were going to win,” he continued. “THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN TO A PRESIDENT AGAIN!”
Trump habitually convinces prosecutors that he is guilty. He makes prosecutors want to dig deeper and deeper, uncovering more and more about Trump. That is Trump being foolish.

Mueller, in U.S. court filing, says multiple probes continue

“Gates continues to cooperate with respect to several ongoing investigations, and accordingly the parties do not believe it is appropriate to commence the sentencing process at this time,” Mueller’s team said in the court filing.

Even as staunch an advocate of presidential authority as William Barr agreed in his confirmation hearings that dangling pardons could be obstruction of justice. “Do you believe a president could lawfully issue a pardon in exchange for the recipient’s promise to not incriminate him?” asked Senator Pat Leahy. “No. That would be a crime,” replied Barr.
Michael Cohen has email showing Trump obstructed Justice by dangling pardon.

I'll ask if you actually read the article beyond the title before I say anything more.

The GOP lost control because that usually happens to any sitting president in the mid-terms.

And Trump people have been fined and jailed.
Not for anything Russia related. Almost exclusively for crimes that happened long before Trump ever ran for President. I've always said it's a good thing when corrupt politicians and bureaucrats go down.

I'm sure that GWB getting that ball really rolling with balloning the military budget that has never even attempted to come close to pre-2001 levels since, or Obama's quantitative easing had nothing to do with this. /sarcasm.

Ditto.

Exactly what are you blaming him for here now?

Quote:If you want to point out that the email came from a lawyer working for Rudy, who is working for Trump, then claim that means Trump has plausible deniability that Trump personally obstructed justice, please do so. The last President to get close to impeachment, Nixon, had intermediaries between himself and the employees who went to jail. There were Watergate Tapes, but Trump is not recording himself. He learned that lesson from Nixon.

www.history.com/news/watergate-where-are-they-now
"On July 30, under coercion from the Supreme Court, Nixon finally released the Watergate tapes. On August 5, transcripts of the recordings were released, including a segment in which the president was heard instructing Haldeman to order the FBI to halt the Watergate investigation. Three days later, Nixon announced his resignation."
www.history.com/this-day-in-history/nixon-resigns
Now that I think of it, Nixon didn't have to resign. He could have been stubborn, destroyed the tapes, and forced Congress to go through the uncertain legal process of removing him. Without the tapes, the end of his term in office would have arrived before the wheels of justice had finished turning in the Senate, but Nixon exited early so that he could get a pardon and avoid being prosecuted after leaving office.
Trump will be stubborn and create much unnecessary trouble for himself in retirement, unlike Nixon. Trump will be in courtrooms for years after he leaves office. Nixon had a peaceful retirement, avoided all that legal maneuvering, because he was smarter than Trump.
