You seem filled with petty rage. Are you conservative?

Quote:You two prove that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is correct. She understands the rue/1kiki and 6ix type of American. Pelosi concluded that impeaching Trump would make everything worse. Too many Trump supporters are overly proud of themselves and their intellect and they won’t turn against Trump because that would be admitting voting for him was a mistake. Impeachment will only make them more stubborn, and governing more difficult. Who wants another government shutdown that accomplishes nothing? Trump does, that's who, if he is impeached.

Pelosi removed the rights tool for firing up the troops. No impeachment "he isn't worth it".
If Mueller's report sets it up or congress collects enough evidence to where republicans have to vote for impeachment, then Pelosi will start the wheels rolling quicker than you can say, get em. Until then congress will continue to gather the evidence.
The important thing is to get a democratic president into office. Then the indictments against Trump and his family can begin without concerns that they will be pardoned.

6ix, I remember you were concerned about riots breaking out, with looting and fires, if SNAP or food stamps were not paid out because of Trump’s shutdown. It was only two months ago. Have you already forgotten? You did not make the connection that it was Trump’s shutdown, making it all Trump’s fault. You did not turn against Trump. What is it going to take? Maybe Trump bringing a 5 gallon container of gasoline into the Lincoln bedroom and setting the White House on fire? Will you justify Trump torching the place because he is the President and he can do as he wants with it?
Trump's Government Shutdown Cost The U.S. Economy $11 Billion. Nice work, Trump. Burning down the White House would have been cheaper and just as ineffective at achieving your goal.

New York attorney general subpoenas banks about Trump projects. State investigators are seeking records from Deutsche Bank and Investors Bank on Trump projects as a result of Michael Cohen's congressional testimony.

"Trump's Government Shutdown Cost The U.S. Economy $11 Billion. Nice work, Trump."
The shutdown lasted 35 days. "The GDP figure in 2018 was $20,500,600 million". Or, $20,501 billion. On an annual basis, the shutdown cost the economy about 0.05% GDP.
That wouldn't even make a minuscule dent in greenhouse gas emissions. dubya did a much better job.

Quote:In the corporate world, a multi-billion dollar blunder such as Trump committed by shutting down the government would get the CEO fired by the board of directors, after the board considers what action to take for about 5 minutes. But the U.S. government can't take swift action because it wasn't designed for it. The basic design is still the same half-ass arrangement that George Washington operated under. But if the government did get around to voting on the matter, it probably would fail to make a decision. It has failed twice in the past: President Andrew Johnson and President Clinton. There wasn't a good reason NOT to fire these guys, but it didn't happen. There were replacements standing ready to jump into the job of being President, but the Senate couldn't make a decision. If the Capitol building was on fire and the Senate had to vote before any Senator could leave the burning building, they would all be dead. If the Senate had a year to make the decision, they would still all be dead.

It shouldn’t take a special counsel to catch Trump cheating on his taxes.
From a policy standpoint, the single most important thing about former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort’s sentencing on Wednesday in federal court is an observation from his lawyers: He would never have even ended up charged under normal circumstances.
If Manafort had not gotten caught up in special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, his lawyers argued to two different judges, he’d never been arrested or charged for white-collar crimes.
From a legal standpoint, the argument “and I would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren’t for you meddling special counsels” isn’t especially strong. Judge Amy Berman in Washington, DC, rejected it.
If Trump had lost the election, no special prosecutor would have been appointed, and Manafort’s various tax evasions and other frauds would have gone undetected.
But the problem isn’t the federal government punishing Manafort (or Trump) for tax cheating, it’s how rarely the perpetrators of tax cheating go to jail. They pay what they always owed and there is no prison time. But mostly they don't get caught and they pay nothing.
