Trying to get some of my Firefly fics reorganized.

Ugggg...
Next week looks to start a 4 day streak of negative temperatures overnight. That negative 15 without wind chill, I believe, will be the coldest night I've had in this house.
I got my bill for this month yesterday. It was only about 8 bucks more than the same bill the previous year, but the average temperature was about 15 degrees higher. At the same time though, the billing cycle was 3 days more this year than it was on last year's bill. So.... kind of hard to really compare the two this time without a lot of figuring. (Last month was much more easily comparable with about 26 bucks difference, a very close average temperature and the same amount of days in the cycle). It is a tie for my most expensive energy bill since I've been here, and next month looks to be the winner hands down unless we have an unseasonably warm February to follow next week up. (I'll be happy if it's under $250... It's been less than I thought it would be the last two months though, so maybe I'll luck out and it won't even hit $230???)
I was right about the variance in temperature inside the house too. Where it was generally 65 degrees on the first floor last month when the thermostat was kept at 68, it has only been about 60 degrees on the first floor during this cold snap with the same temp on the 2nd floor thermostat. No doubt the gap will only grow when it gets frigid cold next week. I can only imagine that it was in the low 50's any year prior to this since I would keep the thermostat in the high 50's/low 60's. It may have even dipped into the high 40's when the overnight temps ran in the double digits negative. :0
Oh well... It might be about 100-120 bucks more this year altogether, but that's not so bad considering I've been comfortable while at home.
Another thing to note is that my entire house has been fitted with low energy LED bulbs for the first time. I had only two of them before this, but my work has a program with the local power company and offers extremely low prices on LED bulbs on occasion, and I got about $200 worth of bulbs for about $20 over the last year. Now every fixture uses them. This has saved a lot of electricity, and I keep 3 of them on 24/7 just to keep the house lit up at night.
I think that had I not gotten all of those LED lights, then my bills would be a lot higher right now than previous years. I think the blower that I have for the furnace is extremely inefficient, and electricity costs are a larger part of my bill than the gas costs even with these LEDs. There was almost zero change in the amount of electricity units I used this year compared to last year, even though I have the LEDs and I make an active effort to put my PC to sleep when not in use. (Both of these things led to noticeable differences in electricity units used when the furnace was not in use).
Do Right, Be Right. :)

I've got one complete story posted right now in the fanfic forum here and a part of another one. Before my all my posts got deleted last year I had one other complete story posted and part of another one.
Thinking I might repost them but I can't seem to remember rightly where I put one of them. I'll have to look for it. It is in it's own notebook.
I am rewriting and tidying up my AU story into another notebook that's got a couple of short stories in. The AU notebook is getting a little ratty.

Tired, tired, tired. Got back from work at 6:45pm. Boss was dithering around about giving me a ride and I finally said I would walk. Well, I just missed one bus and instead of waiting on another one, I walked back. Hence, the tired, tired, tired.
I am taking it slow this weekend. Not doing much tomorrow outside of some vacuuming after a walk.

Dry here the last couple of days.
Trying to sort out some of my other writing and come up with an ending for something else I am writing.

You're keeping more productive than I am in the cold, Brenda. Good on you. :)
Hope maybe somehow the frigid cold snap coming my way misses you. Looking at nearly 20 below without the wind chill factored in now. The forecast just keeps getting colder.

I'm working on it. Helps me forget what a rathole this place is.
It should miss me as I am farther west than you are. Stay warm then. I am still working on that one.
Hoping to meet a friend tomorrow for lunch and do a late Christmas exchange. Sent her a message now just have to wait for an answer. So I have to sort that all out. Won't take long though.

My go-to gift is Ghirardelli Chocolates, which are individually sealed. Haven't had too many complaints.
