Trump Jr flapping his gums: "2008: Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., told investors in Moscow that the Trump Organization had trademarked the Donald Trump name in Russia and planned to build housing and hotels in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sochi, and sell licenses to other developers, the Russian daily Kommersant reported. “Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets,” Trump Jr. said at the time. “We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia."

We all should have learned by now that Trump is a compulsive liar. If anything, we all should have learned that the opposite of what he says is usually the truth.

"trademarked the Donald Trump name in Russia"
Let me point out that a trademark isn't a business. ALSO - the more I read about the various goings-on, the more it becomes evident that nearly all of claims made by pretty much everybody are just so much gum-flapping by people who are pretending things exist that don't. People pretend to have an 'in' with Putin, Trump Jr pretends to have viable business opportunities in Russia. And so on.
And as I suspected from my first reading re the 'Trump Tower' meeting many months ago, everybody was trying to scam the campaign.
Trump Jr was never in direct contact with Emin Agalarov who's father supposedly had dirt on Hillary. "Trump Jr. responded: Thanks Rob I appreciate that. I am on the road at the moment but perhaps I just speak to Emin first. Seems we have some time and if it’s what you say I love it especially later in the summer. Could we do a call first thing next week when I am back?" It looks like Trump Jr was trying to do due diligence on a random contact that came his way, and was being open ENOUGH to finally get to see the goods. ... Which as we know was nothing about dirt on Hillary.
Felix Sate was scamming Cohen about his contacts within Russia (with zero results) to the point that Cohen had to send an email to a general public address he got off the internet - but he never got a reply.
And so on.
There were never any contacts made, never any agreements, never any potential for either quid pro quo or extortion in any of these non-events. Really, how can you be extorted over nothing?

Goddamn, Kiki - use your head. Sorry - Trump's kid? Maybe you didn't read that or just choose to recklessly ignore it? You use ignorance as a shield.
Miss Universe - oops! Business in Russia. Not to mention the deals he did in the US with Russians. He's the great deal maker, remember? And what makes you think EVERY deal he's ever done is public? On his taxes though... he's such a chiseler he would risk getting a tax break for a Russian business deal and just hope he could hide it forever.
It shows his desire to work deals in Russia over the course of DECADES - do you see that? No quid pro quo? So he's banging on Russia's door trying to get in. You don't think a deal could be worked to accommodate that? You know nothing of how deals get done.

lse-or-misleading-claims-over-days/
In the first nine months of his presidency, Trump made 1,318 false or misleading claims, an average of five a day. But in the seven weeks leading up the midterm elections, the president made 1,419 false or misleading claims — an average of 30 a day.
Combined with the rest of his presidency, that adds up to a total of 6,420 claims through Oct. 30, the 649th day of his term in office, according to The Fact Checker’s database that analyzes, categorizes and tracks every suspect statement uttered by the president. www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/politics/trump-claims-database/
The flood of presidential misinformation has picked up dramatically as the president has barnstormed across the country, holding rallies with his supporters. Each of those rallies usually yields 35 to 45 suspect claims. But the president often has tacked on interviews with local media (in which he repeats the same false statements) and gaggles with the White House press corps before and after his trips.
There are many curious moments suggesting the president is walled off from contradictory information.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Trump emphatically denied he had imposed many tariffs. “I mean, other than some tariffs on steel — which is actually small, what do we have? . . . Where do we have tariffs? We don’t have tariffs anywhere,” he insisted. The newspaper responded by printing a list of $305 billion tariffs on many types of U.S. imports.

It is letter of intent personally signed by Donald Trump to proceed with a lucrative Trump Tower Moscow project that would have provided his company with a $4 million upfront fee.
Trump himself signed the letter of intent, which is dated October 28, 2015 — five months after Trump launched his presidential campaign, and during a period in which he was lavishing praise on Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Even though he personally signed a letter of intent for Trump Tower Moscow, Trump repeatedly claimed during his campaign that he had “nothing to do with Russia” and “I know nothing about Russia ... I don’t deal there.” Next, he will be saying I wasn't bribed by $4,000,000. It takes more to buy me.

Pro Trump people are not interested in facts, clearly.
I recall one of the first days of the reign of Lord Trump, when he ran out a bunch of stacks of (probably blank) 8x10 sheets of paper and other misc official looking papers during a press conference and said "here, see I'm completely divested!" And then he said his kids would take over the business while he was president (ie; pilfering the US treasury). And then in a moment of inspiration he looked at the crowd and said, "and if they don't do a good job I'll tell them, "You're Fired!" hahahahah..." Surreal.

Millions of Americans are blindly devoted to their Dear Leader Trump. What will it take for them to snap out of it?
On December 20, 1954, some 62 years before Donald Trump would be sworn in as president of the United States, Dorothy Martin and dozens of her followers crowded into her home in Chicago to await the apocalypse. The group believed that Martin, a housewife, had received a message from a planet named Clarion that the world would end in a great flood beginning at midnight, and that they, the faithful, would be rescued by an alien spacecraft.
Unbeknownst to the other “Seekers,” three of their group — Leon Festinger, Henry Riecken, and Stanley Schachter — were not there to be saved, but to observe. Psychologists from elite institutions, they had infiltrated the pseudo-cult to study Festinger’s recently elaborated theory of “cognitive dissonance.” The theory predicted that when people with strongly held beliefs were presented with contrary evidence, rather than change their minds they would seek comfort and “cognitive consonance” by convincing others to support their erroneous views.
Festinger’s prediction was right. When neither the apocalypse nor the UFO arrived, the group began proselytizing about how God had rewarded the Earth with salvation because of their vigil. His subsequent book, When Prophecy Fails, became a standard sociology reference for examining cognitive dissonance, religious prophecy, and cult-like behavior. What the three researchers probably never predicted, though, was that over half a century later Festinger’s theory would be applicable to roughly 25 percent of the population of the United States and one of its two major political parties. Nor could they have foreseen that the country’s salvation might well depend on its ability to deprogram the Trump cult’s acolytes.

www.motherjones.com/kevin-drum/2018/12/mcclatchy-re-ups-claim-that-coh
en-was-in-prague-during-summer-2016/
A mobile phone traced to President Donald Trump’s former lawyer and “fixer” Michael Cohen briefly sent signals ricocheting off cell towers in the Prague area in late summer 2016, at the height of the presidential campaign, leaving an electronic record to support claims that Cohen met secretly there with Russian officials, four people with knowledge of the matter say.
During the same period of late August or early September, electronic eavesdropping by an Eastern European intelligence agency picked up a conversation among Russians, one of whom remarked that Cohen was in Prague, two people familiar with the incident said.
There are two things that are interesting about this. First, if it’s true, it’s a huge shot-in-the-arm for the credibility of the entire Steele dossier, where this allegation originated. Second, it means that special counsel Robert Mueller knows about all this and decided to keep it closely held instead of using it in the charge sheet against Cohen.
But why would Mueller want to keep it secret? Well, the alleged purpose of Cohen’s trip to Prague was to visit with Russian intelligence folks in order to come up with a plan for making cash payments to the hackers who were working with Team Trump to take down Hillary Clinton. Even for Mitch McConnell, I assume this would be considered an impeachable offense, and it’s the kind of thing you’d really want to nail down solidly before you make it public. What’s more, I assume—again, if this is true—that Cohen turned over names and dates and Mueller might want some time to see if he can interview any of the people Cohen talked with. Who knows? Maybe one of them will take a flight that makes a refueling stop in Canada someday.

Republican Senators won't believe it until it is to their personal, political, & financial advantage to fire Trump from the Presidency. But Mueller will believe it and, if he is really as clever as he is claimed to be, Mueller will find a very legal way to make Trump miserable after he leaves the White House.

You are correct that there is "no evidence" Republicans will force Trump into a trial, but if Trump ever goes on trial in the Senate, Mueller has many witnesses ready to testify that Trump is a liar and a crook. More witnesses are being readied. The chief witness that Trump is an incompetent President is Trump. He has proven it many times. His incompetence might motivate Republicans in Congress to place Trump on trial. The way things are going at the White House, with the resignations because his staff think Trump is incompetent, there will certainly be more evidence between now and the election in 2020.

Merely for having sat calmly through George H.W. Bush’s funeral on Wednesday, Donald Trump was hailed by some as having turned a more presidential page. Alas, it was another Groundhog Day in a loop of Trumpian false dawns. Since then, Mr Trump announced the exit of his chief of staff, John Kelly, appointed Heather Nauert, a former Fox News talking head, to be the next UN ambassador, named a new attorney-general, William Barr, and was effectively labelled a criminal by his own Department of Justice. For good measure, he also called Rex Tillerson, his former secretary of state, “dumb as a rock” and “lazy as hell”.
Mr Trump is battening down the hatches for the second half of his presidential term. It promises to be much stormier than the first. Robert Mueller, the special counsel, is methodically lining up his targets for what increasingly looks like a recommended indictment of Mr Trump for more than one federal crime. On Friday, “individual #1”, as Mr Trump is called in the filings, was implicated in a federal crime in the sentencing reports for Michael Cohen, his estranged personal lawyer, and Paul Manafort, his former campaign chairman.
The filings were heavily redacted. But even from what was visible, they establish connections between the Russian government and people around Mr Trump from as early as November 2015 — eight months before he took the Republican nomination. The chess grandmaster, Garry Kasparov, once said that Mr Trump “had more Russia connections than Aeroflot”. Mr Mueller has by no means finished mapping them out.

Agnew's crookedness was hushed up and Nixon's treason stayed under-reported, but if Trump has done anything like those famous Republicans did, it will come out in public within the next few years, while Trump is still alive, when it can do the maximum harm to the GOP and all those Congressmen who protected Trump from getting the justice he deserved.

That's like one of those computer games where you get to make choices along the way and the outcome/plot trail depends on the combination of all of the many choices you make. So... in that vein... that's just one of the possibilities. The other ones include Trump gets a WIN. Like a Dem Cave and a Wall. And that emboldens a-holes like McConnell & Co. And they get a new AG and Rosenstein, one of the last the Guardians, is axed and the darkness descends for 100 years.

Quote:The Democrats in Congress can easily avoid that by remaining calm and not caving in to Trump's panicky demands. They can make that easier on themselves by encouraging the calmer ones among the GOP Congressmen to agree that the shutdown must end. With Trump being irrational about his Wall and a panoply of larger issues, he will eventually drive about one quarter of his own people in Congress to distraction, then a mild revolt.

Trump really doesn't have any strategy better than lie about everything. Most GOP Congressmen, even the ones that like him, have noticed that weakness in him. If he actually has committed a felon on the same order as his convicted personal attorney, Trump won't be able to lie his way into a second term, although he will try because that's the only trick he knows, that and shouting. Some of his people in Congress will realize he is a liability and politically incompetent and will stop slavishly following his whims if they don't want to end like him, out of office in 2020.

"The desire to maintain a positive self-image. Research shows that people who feel socially marginalized are more likely to believe in conspiracy theories. We all have a desire to maintain a positive self-image, which usually comes from the roles we play in life—our jobs and our relationships with family and friends. When we know we make a positive difference in the lives of others—as parent, spouse, friend, teacher or mentor—we see our own lives as worthwhile, and we feel good about ourselves.
But say Uncle Joe is on disability and hasn’t worked in years. He feels socially excluded. However, he does have plenty of time to surf the internet for information about conspiracy theories, and he can chat online with others who hold similar beliefs. Thus, belief in conspiracy theories gives Uncle Joe a sense of community."

Well geeTHUGR, nice of you - and MSNBC- to admit what I've been saying all along: There is NO EVIDENCE.
Now, one of the things about this committee is that it is privy to "highly classified" information - like, for example, if there were NSA intercepts between the Trump team and RUSSIA!!! - but alas, no such EVIDENCE exists to support your delusion.
If you recall, the contacts between people who claimed to represent Russia (like Mifsud) were all initiated from the other side, and most of them were set up by employees and associates of GPSFusion = the opposition research company paid by the HILLARY campaign. It was all bait, as far as I can tell, to try to get the Trump campaign in trouble. That, along with the so-called Steele "dossier" was disinformation. And then all of this disinfo was whipped into a froth, like a hippo whips its shit, by a series of unmaskings, leaks, and illegally-framed FISA warrants. Each time I followed the trail of your so-called evidence, it evaporated into nothing.
Mueller's last act of desperation is trying to claim that Julian Assange was the Trump campaign's link to Russia. But so far, all Mueller has been able to do is gin up a series of "process crimes" about events which weren't even illegal.
This whole RUSSIA!!RUSSIA!!RUSSIA!!! campaign has been one giant attempted coup by the deep state, including Obama, Hillary, and the DNC.

I agree. It has all been extremely funny.
I'm just wondering what the new hate will be when the Russia thing is finally put to bed. Can't let the crazies go without feeding them. What would happen to the ratings at the media outlets that are already laying off people?

Quote:I swear to god, small g, that Trump spews conspiracy theories faster and farther than anyone else in politics. Where does he get his ideas? Here is a paragraph from an article about Trump's sources:

Stone and Trump have long avoided defining themselves by party politics. Indeed, for many years it wasn’t clear which party Trump belonged to, and during his 2000 flirtation with a Presidential run he considered doing it as a third-party candidate. This was in line with Stone’s belief that Trump’s real adversary, both then and now, was “the deep state”—a term with a hazy definition. “It’s what Eisenhower called the military-industrial complex,” Stone told me, “but it’s broader than that. It’s the intelligence agencies, the entire national-security apparatus, and it doesn’t change, regardless of who is President.” Stone elaborated on the definition in his foreword to a new book, “The Plot to Destroy Trump: How the Deep State Fabricated the Russian Dossier to Subvert the President,” by Theodore Roosevelt Malloch, an American writer who lives in England. Stone refers to the “two-party duopoly” that brought about “endless wars” in the Middle East and “the erosion of civil liberties” at home. “The Republicans and the Democrats, the elites of both parties, were working together, the Bushes and the Clintons, whose policies and truths were largely indistinguishable,” he writes. Trump represented a rejection of the deep state’s hegemony, and now, according to Stone, the deep state was fighting back: “We are witnessing the beginning of the collapse of an illegitimate effort to reverse what the Deep State could not do in the 2016 election.” Stone has a daily show on the Internet outlet Infowars, which is owned by the conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who has been banned from Twitter and other social-media sites for his abusive behavior and who has claimed that the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School, in 2012, did not take place. Stone devotes much of his show each day to the perfidies of the deep state. He, too, was banned from Twitter, in 2017, after he posted a series of tweets directed at CNN personalities in which he called Don Lemon an “ignorant lying covscuker.”
If Stone helped define Trump’s obsessions, then Corsi, who found his way into Trump’s world through a more circuitous route, justified them. . . .
Trump's idea man, Jerome Corsi, is crazier than Trump: Corsi describes his struggle as spiritual. As he writes in his e-book, “The United States under the Deep State masters has begun to descend into a political Hell that I previously thought could only happen under Hitler’s Gestapo, Stalin’s KGB, or Mao’s Cultural Revolution. My particular Kafkaesque nightmare is nothing more than punishment for the crime of being a vocal supporter of Donald Trump and for having worked with Roger Stone to promote Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.” Corsi concludes with his own version of a serenity prayer: “I am with God. Are you?”

If you want to know who does the deep state's bidding, all you have to do is look at those in power who've lined up to push this false narrative against Trump. That would include MI6, Clapper, Comey, Obama, MSNBC and most of the rest of M$M.
But if you want to knw who the deep state is, you'd have to look a lot deeper because the members prefer to remain invisible. I'd suggest looking among the ultra-lite ... that 0.01% which owns over half of the world's asssets. You don't really think that they got rich... and then richer... twisting the world's laws and media and militaries and technologies and bureaucracies to their advantge ... by accident, do you?

Quote:Trump twisted the tax law to his advantage. That would make him part of the Deep State. And he sure knows how to make himself look like a crook. He must be part of the Deep State conspiracy against the President.

SECOND, there are Big Fish in the deep state, and little fish. Trump is a little fish. As I have posted (more than once) he's a national capitalist, not an international one. In the grand scheme of things, if he maintains American sovereignty he's fighting the Big Fish. Is he 100% what I want? Again, as I've posted MANY times, he is not. But he's fighting against global financialism, which IMHO would put us in thrall to a faceless unreachable autocracy and is the driver of the bigger ills that face us, so in the grand scheme of things Trump is sideways to my goals but the deep state is directly opposite.

Quote:Is John Bolton a little fish, like Trump? Bolton called for War. Rudy Giuliani, who now serves as Trump’s personal lawyer, called for the overthrow of Iran’s government on Wednesday during a rally in Poland. Is Rudy really serving Trump or is he serving the Deep State, which is always ready for another war? Or is it Trump serving the Deep State's need for war? It is impossible to know Trump's or Rudy's real motives. Rudy admitted that he was paid by the MEK, but stressed to reporters that he was in Warsaw on behalf of the MEK in his personal capacity and would not be attending the diplomatic conference organized by the State Department.
