Bodycam footage shows nurse Alex Wubbels arrested for refusing to give a patient's blood sample to police.
Wubbels, 41, is a former Olympic athlete who competed as an Alpine skier in 1998 and 2002. She has worked at the hospital since 2009.
The inquiry into her case will be run by Salt Lake County's Unified Police, Judd, the Salt Lake City police spokeswoman, said. The district attorney's office will review the findings and determine whether they merit criminal charges.
The Supreme Court ruled in 2016 that a blood sample cannot be taken without patient consent or a warrant. Judd said Salt Lake City police updated their blood-draw policy "right away" to match the hospital's, and has already re-trained all remaining officers on the updated policy.
Police also met with hospital officials within 24 hours of the incident to figure out "what we needed to change to make sure it didn't happen again," Judd said.
"We have a really strong tie to the nurses that we work with. The police interact with nurses multiple times a day sometimes, and we never want to fracture that relationship," she said.
"We took the incident very seriously from the moment we found out about it and have been working really diligently with Wubbels' attorney and ... herself, and trying to make sure that no one in the medical profession ever needs to fear a police officer here," she added. "It's so sad that we've had this rift in our relationship with the medical community and we're working hard to fix that."
Apparently, no charges were filed against Ms. Wubbels

You see the one where a cop knocked off this girls rear view mirror and drove away, but she got it on home security cam and they initially sent her a letter denying they hit it, she called the news and after they ran the story the cop sent her a check for $2400?
Cops, man. We've come a long way backwards since Mayberry...

I agree, that was awful.

That's what I heard as well. WTF is wrong with these cops, this has been going on for some time now...black, white, brown - it doesn't matter, they still try to get away with murder.
Did you see the one about the cop who said to a white person, "Don't worry, we only kill black people." That cop handed in his retirement papers.

Sadly, there are bad cops everywhere. And bad cops aren't a new thing. You can almost guarantee that some people will go bad when they become cops if you trust the results of the Stanford Prison experiment.
We even see the dynamic played out here, where people will gang up on individuals and subject them to protracted abuse as long as they think they can get away with it - and such people are often vehemently anti-Trump. Aren't they, SGG?

When I was in college many decades ago the local police stomped a man to death for trying to outrun them. It was a big to do. But even back then people were saying the only reason it made the news was because he was a white kid with a rich daddy. Now, this wasn't in some troubled area of the city, it was in a well-to-do suburb.
So even back then Mayberry didn't exist.
It seems to be extraordinarily difficult to turn around the culture of an institution. King/ Drew medical center in LA was a prime example. It was a pit, patients died on gurneys in the halls, it couldn't even meet minimum standards for medical care, morale was low. After multiple years of trying to fix it - even changing out the entire management and 1/3 of the workforce, even with having the only trauma center in the neighborhood and everything to lose - the feds finally closed much of it down.

The cops didn't learn shit from the downfall of the Catholic Church, apparently.
They better start firing people, or this will end badly.

They need to start firing people, but I don't think it'll be the fix that's needed.
VERY anecdotally, many years ago an ex cop explained that the CHP had about as bad a reputation as any corrupt small-town southern pohlice. And after several attempts to turn it around, finally they brought it in guy who did the job. But nobody figured out how he was successful when everyone else failed.

By itself, it might not be the long term fix that is needed. It's a good start though.
Firing people isn't just about instilling fear in cops that do bad shit. More importantly, it's about public perception.
I remember reading about a Chicago cop off-duty in a bar about 15 years ago, drunk off his ass, that beat the shit out of a female bartender who barely weighed 100 lbs. He was suspended with pay after the incident. HE GOT A PAID VACATION FOR IT!!!! Almost anybody else in any profession would be immediately fired from their job and thrown in jail after an incident like that.
There wouldn't even be organizations like BLM if cops weren't above the law. As much as I disagree with BLM and consider them to be a criminal organization, it's hard for normal people in the middle to argue when there are such egregious abuses of power that amount to little more than a slap on the wrist when they happen.

For the most part I agree. Cops need to be held to a higher standard than you sometimes see.
Doesn't it make you wonder though? It does me. What WOULD it take to turn a police department around? A hospital? A banking industry?
Where I work - I've been there long enough to see an ingrained culture set into stone, even when the original perpetrators are decades gone. There was an original team leader who was a lawsuit waiting to happen. But he had control of the most sophisticated instrumentation at the time, so anyone who came into his favor and wanted to continue to advance their careers, and anyone who hoped to be under his favor, just kind of shut up about what he would do to them and others. Even though he left fairly early, one budding young man who came up in 'the system' and under favor eventually became a manager, and carried on the tradition of favoritism/ disfavoritism based on nothing but personal likes and dislikes, because, well, that's how it was always done. In the meantime, the younger newer hires who came up in 'the system' and under favor of that manager are now entering into leadership roles themselves.
It can just propagate. And now it's an ingrained practice and expectation, despite it having very specific historical roots that are long-dead. How does one change that?

That's a good question. I don't know the answer to that.
Even with visions of their own demise in the not too distant future large corporations will continue the same bad practices that got them into that situation in the first place. Pay the peons nothing, no raises for even the top performers, no room for advancement, keeping current management in even though they're detrimental to the company at worst or completely ineffectual at best while not even considering rewarding any of the top performing low level employees for advancement, letting the property fall to shit, charging the same price as everybody else for most of your stuff while hiring just enough people to make the store barely run so customers can't find anybody to help them and when they do the employees are so overworked and agitated that it's terrible customer service..... etc.
The market will work that one out. The place I used to work for will just be a memory in a few years time, like Circuit City and Service Merchandise.
The problem with the cops is that they can't go anywhere. They're an integral part of modern society, and they know it. The only other option would be to privatize police forces, and I don't know about you, but I'm not too keen on Haliburton being let loose on the streets of my town as bad as the government police forces are today.
Something needs to be done before things continue to get out of hand though. I think some mass firings are a great first step.

Cops are required to lie under oath, demanded by prosecutors - or else the court cases will be lost without habitual perjury by police officers.
Consider another thing. Ask a cop if they have ever seen a fellow officer do something illegal. It could be perjury, false arrest or malicious harrassment, falsification of report, framing a citizen, etc. If they say they've never ever have seen another officer do an illegal or dishonest act, then they are either hopelessly incompetent and unobservant, or they are lying themselves. They cannot answer truthfully, or they are crossing the Thin Blue Line, "betraying" a fellow officer by telling the truth. Once this dividing line is broached, further lying is habitually reinforced.
The corruption, perjury, and dishonesty are ingrained. Any cop not playing along will not survive the occupation for long.

Agreed. I'm tired of scapegoating to appease the public while business as usual continues unabated.
How long do you think that it will be before it will be illegal for civilians to take videos of anything outside of "designated video zones" to keep things like this from seeing the light of day?
I'm already uncomfortable knowing that anytime I leave the house every idiot with a cell phone could take a video of me doing anything, and I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels that way. I don't think it would be very hard for the government to protect its own interests in this way. All they'd have to do is show a few egregious invasions of privacy on the MSM and there will be new laws enacted that allow only government cameras to be used outside of these zones.

Cop "business as usual" depends upon when voters wake up. The same populace that bemoans that they don't pay attention to "politics" also whines about police without reins.
Cops have authorities controlling over them, chiefs, Commisioners, Mayors, City Councilmembers or Aldermen, at some point elected. When those elected cease to put up with corruption, it will end. As long as corruption is re-elected, it will continue.

The weird part was that it was captured from the dash cam of his patrol car.
Because of that, there is no way to call this 'fake' news, although there are those that will "pretzel" this. Pivot away boys and girls, pivot away.
By the way, I know that there are good and bad cops everywhere, I work with them in my community, and the good cops hate the fact that bad cops are a major pain in the ass. Also, they are a major stain on policing.

Well... that's just it. It's going to get a whole lot worse before anything gets better.
People don't wake up unless somebody wakes them up. I think what our government excels at is very slowly taking away rights and things we took for granted. They've learned from past mistakes, of our own government and of other governments in history.
Give us enough circus and cake to keep us busy while things are slowly stripped away one by one and you won't even notice that over time you're sitting in the same space you would be if you were ruled by somebody who just held you down with the iron fist overnight.

l/index.html
After a tense encounter between a nurse and a police officer drew widespread outrage, a Utah hospital said its nurses will no longer be allowed to interact with law enforcement agents. ...
The new hospital protocol was announced Monday by Pearce, hospital leadership and the university's police chief during a news conference.
Instead of interacting with nurses, law enforcement officers will be directed to health supervisors "who are highly trained on rules and laws," and those interactions won't take place in patient care areas, officials said.
Payne and another officer have been placed on administrative leave pending the results of an investigation.

I think that's sound policy that should be implemented everywhere. There's so many privacy laws out there and differences between states and localities that even if a nurse thinks that they know the law they might not actually know the law in their locality. Let the nurses be nurses and let HR handle the administrative and legal shit.
Any word on if that administrative leave includes a paid vacation for the cop?

Agreed. All of it.
I've recently been forced into Linux because of a project I'm working on. Learning how to navigate things actually isn't too bad since I know a lot about DOS. I'm not a huge fan of the Linux frontend since it's too much like Mac, but the command line stuff isn't that bad once you learn the different language to make it do what you wanted it to do. Actually, it's quite a bit more powerful, and I'm kind of amazed at how much better it is.
There's also nothing nicer than plugging in any random thing into a USB drive and not needing a driver for it. I plugged in some off brand USB network thumb stick from well over a decade ago and it fired up without a hitch. I was dumbfounded.
Microsoft made a step in the right direction by making Windows 10 essentially free, but it's too little too late. In a year or two's time all of my PCs will be Linux based from now on.

Trump is not the problem. He set himself against the Deep State's agenda. And the Deep State's been heading for WWIII for years.
As for you, you're just a Deep State useful idiot, furthering its agenda. So I hope you enjoy cesium in your coffee. You've earned it.

You know something Keeks, "something personal" is when someone calls you a name or uses something from your personal life and snaps off a rather rude and ugly comment such as:
that crack about women leaving me.
That was personal, but that's what I mean about "dumb" remarks. We are all guilty of saying some dumb shit at different times in our life. I've said dumb things, sometimes I blurt shit out and sometimes I think on it and say "fuck it." Then I think some more and realize that maybe I went too far, it happens; we're human.
But I don't give a shit what you say because, simply put, you don't know me. And I don't know you. It's that simple. You could be the most wonderful human being on the planet, and I could be the most dangerous, nasty motherfucker there is. But neither you nor I know anything other than what we say here anonymously. I speak my piece here, as do you, and we all go back to our day to day; and that's that. I did not start this.
You have made several comments recently that have been personal and have impugned my character. Oftentimes, I think, it's due to the fact that I have disagreed with a statement/response you've made. You've have claimed, accused and insulted of a great many negative things directed towards me. Again, it doesn't matter because you can say whatever you like; it makes no never-mind to me. But to try and twist it and put it on me, well no, I don't accept that...not at all.
Saying that you say something dumb is not a "personal" attack. It is something that we ALL do at sometime or another.

I saw something on the internet that stated that the FBI was primed to investigate the matter. Don't know if that will help.

Gotta be like a duck....let the "water" roll off your back. Here's the thing that I've come to accept. Nothing that any of us say is gonna actually change anyone's mind (not at this point anyway, we're all set in our ways).
But we do have every right to speak whatever we believe. We might try to point out something to one another that might make us go "Hmmmm, I didn't know that" or "I never looked at it that way," but generally we're gonna stick to our "guns" and keep on keeping on. It's a fact of life. We're all entitled to our opinion, regardless...we believe what we believe. That's why we're here and why we love Firefly, because it's about FREEDOM.
Sometimes people lash out because of frustration, I know I do, and it's nothing personal because you just wanna be heard and acknowledged. We might not agree on a lot of things, but at least we hear each other out. Like I said before, if I make a dickhead move and you call me on it, and, after calmly looking at it, I'll be the first to admit - "yeah, it was a dickhead move." But that's because we at least hear what the other has to say and give a little bit of respect in the process. So, we'll give each other a little leeway with the bonehead mistakes, or the occasional rant.
That I know of, I don't think we've ever made it personal toward each other. We've both been through enough shit, we don't need to pile more shit on top of it. It's not worth it.

Well... I'd like to think that I never got into it with you. Glad to hear you say it. Sigs says that even though I was an obnoxious drunk around these parts that I wasn't attacking anybody here. I honestly have just about zero memories of that time.
You and I have been through some similar shit and I think that's kind of humanized each other, at least for me I know it has. It's a shame that it takes something pretty big like that to make loose bonds like that in the ether.
I'm guessing that if Firefly gets rebooted and this site gets a huge bump in members and sticks around for another decade or so, there will come a time where we're on the same side of most issues. I'm not on the fringes, but more like on the sidelines. I've noticed a complete role reversal between the sides since my time here. I don't know what to think of that right now except for that it's quite interesting. I can't wrap my head around it. It's larger than me.
BTW... I don't know if you're still drinking SGG, but I can't recommend not doing it enough. I've just been getting so much more done with my time this year, the days pass much more slowly and don't look like the same day over and over in retrospect, and I've just become much more reliable in RL. I had become Mr. Maybe for a few years there, and the rare occasions anybody bothered to invite me to anything they were just doing it out of courtesy thinking there was just about a zero chance that I'd actually show up. My next step is to get a part time job so I can keep working on my project that I think I can turn into a separate revenue stream if I put the time and research into marketing it correctly.
I drink way too much coffee now, and I get pretty deep into my projects and loose myself in them for days at a time, but I'm able to pull myself out of that and spend time with the family and help them out when they need it now. I didn't need any religion or 12 step program, but I knew none of that was going to work for me so that was a good thing I didn't. If you're struggling with something, I hope you can find whatever it is that can help you get you away from it. I won't say that I'm this happy all the time guy now or any other BS, but there's no denying that I'm adding life to my years left without booze in them.
Do right, be right.

Hey Six,
This site is available to many here that need an outlet, a way of communicating so as to feel that they belong to something, anything and thereby giving their life importance. I understand that more than most, perhaps that's what you are feeling that is bigger than you. I am not going to pretend I know; I will not bullshit you. I don't go around pretending to know it all, that's not me.
I am a firm believer that each one of us has something to contribute, be it to friends or family, or to society in general. Sometimes it's through negative means, and sometimes through positive means; but we each contribute nonetheless. We all do our share. This community is a microcosm of that. Having said that, keep doing what you're doing. You're on the right track, well, I'd like to think so.
Bravo on your accomplishment of staying sober, by the way. It is something to be proud of. I know it ain't easy, but let me get one thing straight, and you'll see how what I said above is relevant. I am not a drunk, contrary to popular belief, this is a product of the evil twins making. I'm truly surprised that you would believe their incredibly insensitive and totally bogus bullshit. Something that Keeks and Sigs made up in their filthy little minds to discredit and impugn my character. This was their way of lashing out for whatever reason, well I do not know, other than this is how they get their kicks. I have some other theories, but I'll keep those to myself.
I do have a person, who is a close friend, who has gone through rehab over the years, so there's that. That is quite personal to me, but I ignore people of low caliber as a matter of course; especially ones that I don't know or care to know. I'm speaking, of course, of the two people here who don't have a soul. Who else would sling around such accusations without a care in the world, with little regard for the affect and personal impact it may produce as a result. I am proud of my friend, who, up until about 3 years ago, was a drunken steaming pile of misfortune. She's been clean and sober for 3 years now and looks and feels wonderful. Me, I had little to do with her recovery, she did this all on her own. I have let her know how proud I am of her, both publicly and privately. She is a new person.
I am not perfect. I have had my struggles throughout life, but I have managed to stay a step or two ahead of the curve. I'm not going to into my life here, it's not the appropriate venue. But I did want you to know that I am a human being. Well, you know the rest. I shit you not.
I follow my own path. I think for myself, and sometimes it rubs people the wrong way. Because generally people want you to conform to their way of thinking...for whatever reason. This goes especially for family as well as people you meet along the way. Take this country , for example, the pledge of allegiance...the national anthem, etc. Anyway, go get 'em, as the saying goes. Do your thing and don't look back. Really, I know that sounds cliché, but keep moving forward Six. Fuck everybody else (even me).............
Do right, Be right!
I am struggling with something, but I will be okay. I will find a way, I always do. I am walking the path.
Just go and do you. I don't give a fuck whether we agree or not. I'm just pulling for you, to be the way you see fit. Me? I'll do the same.

Ferguson Drops Charges Against Man Cited in Justice Dept. Report
By TIMOTHY WILLIAMSSEPT. 12, 2017
After five years of pursuing a host of minor charges against Fred Watson, whose case was held up as an example of systematically hostile treatment of black residents in Ferguson, Mo., the city abruptly dropped its prosecution this week without explanation.
Mr. Watson, who had been approached by a police officer while sitting in his parked car, was charged with failure to wear a seatbelt and six more offenses. His story was detailed in a Department of Justice report on Ferguson’s criminal justice system that followed the 2014 fatal police shooting of Michael Brown.
Though the case generated public outrage, the city continued to pursue the charges, despite the arresting officer’s problematic disciplinary record and what Mr. Watson’s lawyers called flawed evidence.
On Monday the prosecutor, Lee Clayton Goodman, filed a single sheet of paper with the Circuit Court of St. Louis County that brought the case to a close. He declined to discuss the matter.
What is the case about?
In 2012, Mr. Watson was sitting in his car, cooling off after a basketball game in a Ferguson park. He was approached by a police officer, Eddie Boyd III, who drew his weapon. Mr. Boyd arrested him, searched his car, and charged him with seven offenses: not having insurance, failing to register the vehicle, not wearing a seatbelt, having an expired driver’s license, not having a driver’s license, lacking a vehicle inspection sticker, and having illegally tinted windows. After Mr. Watson complained about his treatment, he was hit with two additional charges.
Why is it important?
After the death of Mr. Brown, a young African-American man, at the hands of a white police officer, the Justice Department found that Ferguson’s police department and courts had systematically violated constitutional rights with illegal stops, arrests and harassment of African-American residents. The report forced Ferguson to enter a federal consent decree and embark on a path of reform. The city’s police chief, city manager, judge and prosecutor were all replaced, and the city says it has dropped 49,000 cases and forgiven $1.8 million in fines.
Why did it go on for so long?
That is unclear, and raises questions about the city’s commitment to change. Ferguson police officers say supervisors continue to pressure them to write tickets for minor offenses. Mr. Boyd, the officer who arrested Mr. Watson, remains a Ferguson police officer despite a history of brutality and dishonesty. Finally, dropping the case with no explanation shows a lack of transparency that does not bode well for reform, said Thomas Harvey of Arch City Defenders, a St. Louis law firm that handled Mr. Watson’s case pro bono.
Is Mr. Watson now in the clear?
Mr. Watson, a cybersecurity expert, lost his job when his top-secret clearance was taken away after his arrest. He is in debt and his house is in foreclosure. He said he will continue to look for cybersecurity work, though there is no guarantee that he will receive a high-level security clearance again. He has sued Ferguson for what he says was a violation of his civil rights. “There’s a lot more people than me this has happened to,” he said.
Trump is not the problem. He set himself against the Deep State's agenda. And the Deep State's been heading for WWIII for years.

It said he was charged. I didn't find anything that said he was guilty.
Sometimes when I get home after grocery shopping, I'll leave the car parked out front because there's shade and it's closer to the house. At night when I drive back around to the garage off the alley, I don't bring my purse with license, registration, and proof of insurance. Once or twice I didn't even buckle my seat belt. I'm sure if I wasn't female, white, and elderly, and living in a nicer town, something would be made of it. But it's not.
OTOH I was unknowingly driving with a tailight out. First thing I know, I got 'lit up' by the police. Since there was NO shoulder, I drove maybe 150' further and pulled into a parking lot. The very first thing the officer said - in hostile tones- was not 'do you know why I pulled you over?', but 'did you pull into the parking lot so I wouldn't confiscate your car?'
It's a good thing I was too confused by the question to be pissed off and reply. They can make something out of nothing, if they want.

Hey SGG,
I wasn't calling you a drunk. I only saw some interactions here and there during my sobriety that I stay out of. Before the sobriety, I don't know anything that happened. It was kind of weird waking up out of that and seeing that almost everyone that used to post here is gone now.
I was just saying that if you do have a problem with it that I can't recommend enough trying to overcome it. I've been more involved with my family than I ever have recently and have become somebody to depend on again. It feels nice. This week I'm taking a break from that to focus on wrapping up some major work outside of my house that I've been neglecting for a long time. (I finally seem to have taken care of that massive ant problem that I had all summer).
I'm going to be power washing my entire house now and throwing out some old crap furniture because I'm getting two beautiful heirloom furniture sets that my parents aren't taking in the move. I've also got a lot of new tools that I always wanted to have but never would have bought on my budget, and some new shelving in my garage so I can re-arrange everything and have a fully functional workshop out there instead of the big mess that it's been the last few years.
Life is pretty good man. I'm just done sweating the small stuff or worrying about the "big" stuff that I have zero control over. Maybe it takes a self-inflicted brush with death to realize that all of that doesn't matter. Nobody knows how much time any of us have left. Why worry about it? Just try to fill the time you do have doing things you enjoy and being around people you care about. Everything else is just the superfluous bullshit we have to endure in between.
In any case, whatever your problem is, good luck getting it taken care of. You'll be able to focus on the important stuff once you put that to rest.

I am proud of my friend, who, up until about 3 years ago, was a drunken steaming pileNOTIFY: Y | REPLY | REPLY WITH QUOTE | PERMALINK | TOP | HOME

Shiny, this is you, in the span of a mere 3 weeks. No discussion, no facts, no debate, just full-on unprovoked attacking and trolling. And some complete raging incoherence thrown in. Yes, this is you, 'not' attacking people.
You say completely unprovoked, and that YOU only "defend yourself" that YOU do not attack. Hmmm, then it would appear that I must have lost "touch" with my senses because I go around "attacking" people for no reason at all. Is that what YOU think?
Is this what YOU truly believe?
I have thought, for a brief moment, that maybe someone hacked into YOUR profile and hurled the insults at me, called me a drunk and made rather insensitive remarks aimed at me. And that I have seen this done to others here who had the nerve to disagree with YOU. A couple of years back, before venturing into RWED, I was warned about the brutal nature and culture within these walls. I'm still waiting for that brutality...I have yet to see it rear it's ugly head.
I must repeat myself yet again; I do not attack. I walk the streets unarmed, but totally prepared to be knifed in the back. I keep my wits about me and stride forward, undeterred, stalwart and ever at the ready.
I do not tell YOU how to respond - YOU do whatever YOU like, it makes no never-mind to me. YOU want to produce "evidence" - that's YOUR prerogative. As this is a FREE SPEECH society, I'll answer/respond as I see fit, pure and simple. If YOU decide to arbitrarily declare that so-called "evidence" must be produced; which YOU then reject as "insufficient" based on self-professed set of rules known only to YOU; well then, that would preclude intelligent debate now, wouldn't it?
Here's what I don't understand, for the life of me. Why is it that YOU, a self-proclaimed intellect, would find it necessary to engage with such "so-called" debate with folk you don't know and that YOU have clearly shown disdain for? Why not engage with other "intellects" so as to stimulate your "brilliant" mind and grow? Why, for Pete's sake, debate with "lessers" if YOUR intellect is above reproach? Aren't YOU afraid that YOUR mind would go stale from the lack of intellectual stimuli and challenge? It puzzles me to no end.

It's gonna sound like bullshit, but I'm doing the same thing - I'm "cleaning house"
really, this is strange, but it's what I'm doing.
Oh, and don't worry about the "drunk" thing, I know you weren't calling me a drunk.
Let's not dwell on the negative. It's fine! I just wanted to let you know what's going on with me and where I stood on that issue. Let's turn the fucking page.
Dude, I'm glad you are moving on with your life, and using the KISS method...Keep It Simple Stupid. I say that to myself all the time, it keeps me on track. I too have been reaching out to folk in my neck of the woods, and it is better overall to keep close to family. They and close friends know you best. My friend "Chris" was
battling the bottle starting 3 years back and now she's doing so much better, both physically and spiritually (I mean she's close with her eldest daughter again and with her other kids).
Listen, we are going to disagree. Those are just ideas, but we can agree upon what's really important - family and life in general. Fuck everything else, like you said "it's superfluous bullshit."

Just try to fill the time you do have doing things you enjoy and being around people you care about. Everything else is just the superfluous bullshit we have to endure in between.
I was thinking about printing this out and putting it above my computer. So that whenever I get a little sidetracked, I'll look up at this and say - FUCK IT!
I started on cleaning out my overstuffed closets and ridding myself of the junk I've accumulated over the last 10 years. Man, does it feel good to get something done. And now I feel better and have more room. It works like magic. So thanks and good luck to you as well.

I'm trying to develop a more positive attitude about things, which isn't exactly easy for me since I've always been pretty negative.
I'm still going to argue about stuff here, sure. But I'll admit that I do enjoy doing that.

I'm just going to try to keep it less intense and not get into the personal BS.

LOL. I did the same thing 2 years back. I was binge watching that show Hoarders and realized that could be me one day. I probably got rid of 50% of the stuff that I owned. Some of it I'd been holding on to since I lived at my parents house over half a life ago and I hadn't even looked at except for when I was packing to move it from place to place.
My new rule is that I don't store anything anymore, even though I have plenty of space to do so. The second rule is that if I acquire something new that I want to keep, I have to get rid of something that I haven't used for a year.
The only exceptions to this are my tools and my tech. I'd never throw out a good tool, but I did manage to get rid of a lot of ancient tech that I have no idea why I was holding on to it. Some of it is good to keep for replacement parts and such though since I'm on a shoestring budget. My brother just gave me his old XBox 360 and about 50 games, so I've got some decisions to make there.
And don't throw away the truly sentimental stuff. Pictures and the like. Ive got two totes that have a lot of that stuff in it. I don't look at them much, but every 5 or so years I just go through that and it brings back a lot of good memories of another person that I used to be.

Again...you choose to answer/respond in your own style - reposting selected quotes from my "so-called" rants. That is your prerogative. I already said my piece - you claiming that you only defend yourself, well, it's just that a claim. I DO NOT attack people for no fucking reason. I defend myself.
I am not going to sit there and take shit from nobody. You guys call people idiots, sheep, drunkards and a whole lot of other things, plus personal attacks and then you expect them not to respond. Well, I'm not going to repeat myself, suffice it to say that I will "unload both barrels" in executing my defense.
I will not allow you, or anyone, to "gaslight me," that ship has sailed.
