Quote:Know Thy Trump on March 21 said, “Believe me!” Fact checkers correct him when he’s “off by one hundredth of a percent.” He added, “I end up getting Pinocchios!” This is from the guy who repeatedly said the real unemployment rate was 42 percent. Watch Trump on video smoothly deny he is lying: https://t.co/niULexmOBz

I don't know about 40%, but it's sure a lot higher than they say it is. The unemployment numbers only include those "actively looking for work", which means only those filing weekly or bi-weekly unemployment sheets for their checks. I haven't filed a report since the benefits wore off over a year ago, so I am no longer considered "unemployed".
The actual number of unemployed Americans of working age is currently over 40 million. When you subtract senior citizens, everyone under 18 and illegal immigrants from the 350 or so million people living in America, 40 million is a lot higher than whatever single digit number the MSM says unemployment is.
If you were to add to the Real number the "under-employed", I'm pretty sure the number of 40% is pretty accurate.

Trump is warning Congressional Republicans: Pass Trumpcare or Lose Your Seats. (Congressmen are not impressed by Trump's nutty threats. They don't think he has the brains or guts to follow through.)
“I’m going to come after you,” Mr. Trump told Representative Mark Meadows, Republican of North Carolina.
Representative Leonard Lance of New Jersey, one of the nearly two dozen Republicans from districts that Mr. Trump lost in 2016, said he was leaning strongly toward a “no” vote. “I campaigned in support of a repeal-and-replace bill that would make health care more affordable and accessible and provide a smooth transition to those who were forced into Obamacare through no fault of their own,” Mr. Lance said. “The bill, as currently drafted, does none of these things.” An unimportant detail to Trump. This is his Trumpcare and he wants it to pass, even if it does not do what he promised. Is he nuts? Or is he a liar? Both?

Trump may end up destroying people, not because he is powerful, smart or brave, but because he is inane.
Quote: "Many House Republicans districts are so safe they wouldn’t lose to a Democrat even if the Trump administration unleashed a nuclear holocaust. To the extent that they worry about anything, they worry about losing their reputation for total ideological purism — and inviting a possible primary challenge from the right."

I have no stake in anything he does. As you've said before, you stand to gain far more from Trump than I ever would. Your tax savings this year alone will be more money than I've made in the last 9 years.
The problem is I've heard so much crazy shit from the left for so long that Trumps craziness doesn't phase me anymore. Maybe if the loud minority of the Left that is taking over college campuses and the MSM haven't spent every oppourtunity they had the last 8 years trying to make me feel guilty for being a white male, I wouldn't welcome crazy in a different flavor.
As a very loud representative of the new wave Left, I put this all at your feet Second. Whatever the outcome.
You and the Left have now had 4 1/2 months to rebrand the Democratic party and get somebody in a position of power there that might challenge Trump in 2020. You haven't done that at all. It's been 4 1/2 months of liberal bitching and whining and conspiracy theories and doubling down on all of the things that put us in this position in the first place.
Right now, you have nobody. There is not a single Democratic name out there that would stand a chance against Trump in 2020. Why don't you work on that? Promote somebody I can get on board with that actually treats me like a human being and not some caricature of a Nazi, and then we'll talk.

Quote:What? You don't need health insurance? I thought you were signed up for Obamacare. Wrong of me? I have heard that millions who are eligible for Obamacare did not sign up for it because of . . . well, who knows what they are thinking? If you and they don't want it, well, Trump won't force you go to a doctor in his Trumpcare or Obama's Obamacare. It is your life, your decision, nobody will stop you in America from making decisions, right or wrong, for yourself.

Quote:Why would Democrats bother? We've got 8 years of Republican control ahead of us and I am gleefully looking forward to my Republican tax cuts. Democrats would never give me that money, but Republican think I deserve it and hurray for that! We have seen this 8 year cycle before.

Back when Nixon was President, Democrats ran George McGovern against him. McGovern was a clear alternative to lying Nixon and his Vietnam War. Nixon was reelected by a landslide because Americans wanted 8 years of Republicans. I know that Gerald Ford finished Nixon's 8 years and I suspect that Mike Pence might finish Trump's 8 years, but 8 is what the USA is gonna get, no matter who Democrats run as their George McGovern of 2020.
McGovern was not a joke, either. He was completely sincere & competent and yet he was crushed by the completely insincere, incompetent and phony Nixon. I believe the Nixon campaign argument was: "Why change Dicks in the middle of a screw? Nixon in '72!" If Trump can start a war equivalent to Vietnam, he is certain to be reelected. Vietnam War worked for Nixon's reelection. Trump has already asked for a much bigger budget for the War Department without announcing which country will be the Vietnam he needs for reelection in 2020. Could be Iran or North Korea.

You already know I have Obamacare, unless you don't actually read anything other people post. As I've said before the only reason that I accept it is because I would be charged $695 in taxes for not having healthcare.
As to the rest of what you say, I wonder if you truly believe it. That's just backwards thinking. You democrats have an opportunity the next 4-8 years to become a party that people want to be a part of again instead of maintaining the vile behavior toward anyone with dissenting opinions and general crybabyisms that are carried out on a daily basis for no reason. It's completely counter-productive for all of us.
I'm not a hard line anything. I'm not a mindless Trump sycophant. Come to me with some real answers. Some real solutions. Come to me with some candidates that that lie somewhere in the middle that can make a better future for us.
When you come in here, every single post, and just throw out insults to the President and anybody you don't agree with, all you're doing is speaking to your own echo chamber.

Quote:Here is a real solution, but it requires you to be brave and show some guile. You are claiming that you don't need health insurance and you only bought because of taxes. Since you don't need insurance, you think, you could lie on your tax return then there would be no $695 tax. Nobody will audit your return. Nobody will care if you don't have insurance. On your IRS 1040 line #61 Health care: individual responsibility (see instructions) Full-year coverage X. Fake it. Put the "X". The Republicans fixed it so that the IRS doesn't have any way to check your honesty.

What happens if you don't pay the fee and you get caught? The IRS will hold back the amount of the fee from any future tax refunds. There are no liens, levies, or criminal penalties for failing to pay the fee. www.healthcare.gov/fees/fee-for-not-being-covered/

Why would I do any of that?
$695 means a lot to me, and it did when I was making a good buck too. That's how I was able to buy this house with cash when I lost that job.
I've done my own taxes for going on 20 years now and never lied or got audited on them. Taking the Obamacare forced on me means I don't have to pay the $695 tax. I know it's not criminal to get caught lying about that when I make nothing. People would be rioting if it were. But they could take a lean on future taxes, as you mention.
I have zero debt. No mortgage. No car payment. No credit card or school debt. I don't even own a cell phone or have cable TV so I'm not even on the hook for a contract for future services.
Why would I put myself in a position to have an unfair tax debt put on me?

Quote:Have you learned nothing from President Trump and his tax returns? Follow his example. And if not him, did you ever watch Firefly? Did you notice that the heroic crew were not truthful around the evil Alliance/Obama administration? Did you ever think that it is right for them to dissimulate? To give you a different perspective on obedience and following rules and truthfully filling out government forms, I have Trump's exclusive interview with Time’s Michael Scherer, published Thursday.

President Donald Trump basically gives three types of explanations for why it’s okay for him to say things that aren’t true. You could learn valuable lessons that would help you in the Real World, away from fireflyfans.net.
1) Trump thinks it’s okay to repeat a false claim as long as he is accurately stating the fact that someone else made the false claim.
2) He thinks it’s okay to say something false as long as it later turns out that something vaguely similar is true.
3) And he appears to think it’s okay to just straight-up lie and then keep lying for no reason.
Here are three quotes on category 1) misstatements, where Trump says he was accurately saying other people said something false, so there’s no reason for him to apologize for spreading misinformation:
“I’m just quoting the newspaper [about Ted Cruz’s father being involved in the JFK assassination], just like I quoted the judge the other day, Judge Napolitano, I quoted Judge Napolitano, just like I quoted Bret Baier, I mean Bret Baier mentioned the word wiretap.”
“Well, I’m not, well, I think, I’m not saying, I’m quoting, Michael, I’m quoting highly respected people and sources from major television networks.”
“Well if you look at the reporter, he wrote the story [about Muslims celebrating 9/11 on rooftops in New Jersey] in the Washington Post.”
