Trump has some very fixed and whacky ideas about things: Iran. Global warming. taxes.
Like Obama had whacky ideas about things ... yanno, like how to "liberate" the Mideast, "fix" the USA economy, "insure" health, and "protect" our Constitutional rights.
We need to destroy the deep state first. THEN we need to move the Administration ... whichever one it is ... in the best direction. But unless we destroy the deep state and break free of the globalists' plan to take over the world, you will NEVER achieve any of your deeply-held goals.

OONJERAH, do you want to be treated like the sweet little old auntie who gets flustered whenever something "not nice" is discussed? Or do you want to be treated like an intelligent individual who will follow a trail of logic and evidence wherever it leads?
Let me know. In case you're interested, I've been treating you like my favorite auntie, and will continue to do so, if that's what you want. I like you, you're a sweet person, and I don't want to discomfort you. OTOH I don't want to disrespect you either.

I got a certain amount of history in school, especially
the parts I found interesting. As for politics, teachers
weren't supposed to push their biases in school, and my
folks really didn't know much.
I, otoh, am a true Ostrich when it comes to politics.
I want someone else to fix it & make this America the beautiful.
The election I recall the best in my lifetime was Eisenhower
running against Stevenson ... & they were both good guys.
As for Trump, you can say any bad thing about him; I will
simply nod & believe it.

And long before Trump, there was a US president whose statements were so outlandish, so forcefully repeated – and so demonstrably false – that the press nearly gave up reporting them. Reporters quickly discovered that the story was pure fiction, a scene in the wartime Hollywood movie “A Wing and a Prayer.”
White House reporters were flummoxed by the president’s disregard for facts like these – and even more flummoxed by the public’s disinterest in holding him to account. In a 1983 New York Times article, Steven R. Weisman noted that reporters wearied of reporting the president’s frequent “debatable assertions of fact” because the public seemed to shrug them off as “nits and nats” and “inside baseball.” When White House press secretary Larry Speakes was asked how it could be that Reagan would repeat stories that were provably false, Speakes replied, “If you tell the same story five times, it’s true.”

The voters give the appearance of being robots following orders to approve whatever the government does. Why would Presidents and Senators and Governors listen to the desires of a vast army of mindless robots when there are only a few people with actual willpower and preferences to listen to? The government would much prefer listening to David Rockefeller, who comes to mind despite being dead, rather than a hundred million empty headed voters who will approve anything the government does. Why listen to them when you can listen to Bill Gates? I do believe Gates has a meeting with Trump this week.
I’m still on the theme that Americans are robots: Nine in 10 people would electrocute others if ordered, a rerun of the infamous Milgram Experiment shows. 90% gives Trump lots and lots of human material to persuade. He only needs a majority of voters so he need not convince all 90%. A recent study by St Andrews University suggested that people were happy to inflict pain on others if they believed it was for the greater good.

In other words, 90% of Americans can be persuaded to zap the hell out of foreigners chosen at random if Americans can do it indirectly with a push on a button or check mark on an election ballot for President. Why would any government listen to the priorities of the people when 90% of them are robots? Government listens to the 10% who are not robots. Government pays especially close attention to the top 1% who are not robots.

There could be truth in what Avent wrote, a truth that Trump can take advantage of to get more votes from human-robots. In a blog entry titled “Robot Geometry”, the Nobel Prize-winner in Economics did a simple general equilibrium analysis to capture a lot of what Ryan Avent is saying. That does not, of course, mean that Avent is empirically right. But it is very suggestive.
