Multiple members of the Trump team had repeated phone calls with senior Russian intelligence officials at the same time that Russian intelligence was hacking various email accounts in order to sabotage Hillary Clinton. And during this entire time, Trump himself was endorsing a foreign policy that appeared almost as if it had been dictated to him by Vladimir Putin.
The intercepts alarmed American intelligence and law enforcement agencies, in part because of the amount of contact that was occurring while Mr. Trump was speaking glowingly about the Russian president, Vladimir V. Putin....The officials said the intercepted communications were not limited to Trump campaign officials, and included other associates of Mr. Trump.
....Officials would not disclose many details, including what was discussed on the calls, which Russian intelligence officials were on the calls, and how many of Mr. Trump’s advisers were talking to the Russians.
The American intelligence community has all but declared war on Trump since his inauguration. I hardly need to spell out why this is dangerous. At the same time, it's sure becoming a lot clearer why they're so alarmed by the guy.
And by the way, I shouldn't miss this chance to flog my favorite hobbyhorse again: FBI Director James Comey, who knew all about this, pushed hard not to make it public during the campaign. Instead he considered it more important to inform Congress that he had discovered additional copies of Hillary Clinton's emails on Anthony Weiner's laptop. Priorities.

Flynn was the head of the DIA at that time. And WHO would have had access to any telephone calls might have made?
The CIA is targeting FLynn as their first piece, they're going to use this to attack Trump, who is - you may recall- the DULY ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE USA. Elected, I might as, as the result of a DEMOCRATIC PROCESS.
This is the same playbook as Ukraine: When a divisive but properly-elected leader is in office but is thwarting your goals, slag him (or her) constantly in the the press, use your CIA and State Department neocon contacts to organize and spy, launder any allegations- false, misrepresented, or otherwise- through John McCain and a compliant corporate press, pay civilian provocateurs to turn demonstrations into riots .... lather, rinse, repeat until you have brought down the government.
You see? In the other thread, people are exploring the thought that we may be trending towards fascism. My point there is that it's not a future event It's already here, and has been for at least 16 years. And it's not Trump.
I can only hope that as the CIA, State, and Congressional neocons are working to overthrow the Trump Presidency, Trump is gathering dirt on THEM, because they should be tried for treason.
IF Trump is going to prevail over the CIA and State Department neocons, he's going to have to be a lot smarter than he's been so far. And if he doesn't, we're doomed.
And then it won't matter WHAT you want: if you want peace, or more jobs, or better healthcare, or sovereign decision-making, you'll get endless war, sucked dry by health insurances (with taxpayer money), MORE free trade, absolutely no control over your environmental or energy or economic policies, but by GOD at least you'll have transgender bathrooms!

Then there are the millions who illegally voted for Hillary, at least according to Trump. Does that seem "duly elected" to you? I think some of those millions of voters should be investigated and jailed. Or else the illegal millions might vote again. More elections in the future, you know what I mean?

I am waiting for Trump to make his income tax returns public information. Presidents do that, but not Trump. That is something he promised, but has not delivered. All the paperwork is already done. The only effort by Trump would be a phone call to his accountant.
Nixon had to pay extra tax when his income tax returns were made public. He had cheated.
Nixon's vice-president, Spiro Agnew, had to resign or go to jail when his income tax returns were made public. He had cheated.
Did Trump cheat on his taxes? He can easily prove he has not cheated, but he has not. Why not?
And then there is Trump's worldwide businesses. Presidents don't own businesses, but instead sell them, placing their money in a blind trust. Not Trump! He sold nothing.
Trump can be bribed by every country he has a business in and every International bank Trump has borrowed from. Besides being bribed, his businesses can be hurt by those same countries and International banks. That has not changed despite all the paperwork Trump signed to change daily control of his businesses to his sons.

One of the things neither you nor THUGR not any of the other hysterics on the board have done is to define for yourselves ... WHAT ARE OUR INTERESTS? Now YOU, being an oil person, may have interests that are deeply different than the rest of us. But most of us don't- or IMHO shouldn't- give two shits about what "they" do "over there" unless it affects us. And so far, nobody has been able to show how Russia hurts out interests. China? Sure, an active economic adversary. N Korea? Yeah, a lunatic-run nation which SO FAR has been unable to reach us by missile-strike. Saudi Arabia? Yeah, well, we are locked together in our mutual dependence on the petro-dollar, but that doesn't excuse the fact that they've been fostering terrorism for over 40 years, and al Qaeda is just the latest branch. Qatar? Same problem as Saudi Arabia. The transnationals and the 45 people who control 40% of the world's resources? They HARDLY have our interests at heart! But seriously, who else has the means and the will to do us harm? Russia is a military competitor, but IMHO there's nothing there that a treaty couldn't solve.
Stop being so reactive. If you're going to worry about being sold out by anyone, worry about the deep state.
