The thing is... this is not mine. The poem belongs to long time dead Mr. Edgar Allan Poe. But I love it, and then I read little message from the hands of blue guys to River (I recommed you to read it, and if you liked Buffy, I recommend it twice) and it hit me how easy the poem fitted in the girl's live. Here it goes: Alone From childhood's hour I have not been As others were; I have not seen As others saw; I could not bring My passions from a common spring. From the same source I have not taken My sorrow; I could not awaken My heart to joy at the same tone; And all I loved, I loved alone. Then–in my childhood, in the dawn Of a most stormy life–was drawn From every depth of good and ill The mystery which binds me still: From the torrent, or the fountain, From the red cliff of the mountain, From the sun that round me rolled In its autumn tint of gold, From the lightning in the sky As it passed me flying by, From the thunder and the storm, And the cloud that took the form (When the rest of Heaven was blue) Of a demon in my view.
I was just bouncing around the site and I realized that the piece that you referenced was mine. Thanks for the shout out! I really appreciate it, my work is a bit, morbid and creepifien at best so I'm greatful for any readers I can get. You might like my latest piece, it has a section that is a shout out to the hands of blue/gentlemen connection. You can find it on this site under fanfic, its call Pillow Book of Inara Serra: Part IV, Book of Gifts. Granted it doesn't make much sense unless you are familiar with the series, but the sectio where the Blue Hands show up kind of stands alone, its the second section if your interested.
Thanks again,
Phaedra
