And that's all, folks! For now. Story #9 picks up right where this one left off. Hope you enjoyed my "trashy" fanfic.

Simon folded his arms disdainfully. “So because I can’t fly a shuttle, or a hovercraft—”

“Well what gorram good is that top three-percent brain a’ yours if you can’t even fly a gorram—”

“Gorrammit, Kaylee! You’re the mechanic! I’m just a rutting ship’s doctor! What the 地狱 dìyù do I know?”

I enjoyed the argument between Kaylee and Simon.

I also liked the "oh shit" moment when
Janice told Jayne it was his son. I was kind of rooting for it really to be.

There's another Cobb in the verse! Who woulda imagined the day Jayne had progeny?

...Don't tell Simon.

Oh, oops. I should finish reading before I respond, heh.

...And now I am imagining the day when Simon finds out there are little Jaynes running around the verse.

Poor, poor Simon.

Very enjoyable though I found it hard to believe that Kaylee would not have been able to fathom out how to fly the shuttle or send a coms to Serenity asking River to talk her though it. Loved Jayne's brief dance with paternity and especially how kind he was to Janice afterwards when Simon was able to show Jayne wasn't the father. Ali D :~)
"You can't take the sky from me!"

Now Simon is trying to think like Mal. That proves River is the smart one.

The Jayne and baby side plot was well done as was the ending.

Look forward to the next story arc... speaking of which where is it?

m52nick--I had great fun shaking things up between Simon and Kaylee. It seemed like it was time for there to be something other than puppies and rainbows for them. m52 and bytemite--I toyed with the idea of the child being Jayne's, but decided he wasn't--this time! Doesn't preclude the possibility of Jayne being a father in another time or place, does it? ;-) Ali D--the way I figure it, Kaylee's difficulty is with the start-up sequence, which has been mentioned in War Stories as something that can be unfathomable if you're not familiar with it (even Zoe couldn't fly the shuttle when Wash reconfigured the start-up sequence). Also, she's exhausted and beginning to get flustered. So glad you liked the scene between Jayne and Janice at the end. Nutluck--aw, come on, not _all_ of Mal's plans end with him getting shot ;-). Glad you liked Jayne's story here and the ending. Next story coming in five...four...three...

so where is it?

Set up AND the punchline. Nicely done.

Zoe's "carrying", River rides to Simon's rescue, the happy couple stood around bickering, the machine won't "speak" to Kaylee--lots of cute images in this episode. I liked the part where the baby doesn't turn out to be Jayne'e; even though somehow I would like him to have to deal with a baby, I liked the unexpected twist as well. I liked Sullivan's last line, sounds like there are possibilities there (like Mal working with a "purplebelly"?).

Ebfiddler!

Holy Smokes….Janice & Jayne, & a little Jayne on the Cobb!! You certainly had me twist around with that. So it didn’t work out for Janice, I am sorry for her, yet I do think things worked out for the better.

Certainly looking forward to more of this story. There are so many possibilities.

Nice job, I am enjoying it thoroughly!!

Oh, I just heard from Jayne, he wants to RE-review his contract. He says he's okay with the explosive bombshells again.

Oh! Ha, I get it now. That is CLEVER.

Although you'd think nearly identical looking cousins from the same world would probably flag the same on a paternity test... Oh well. Rule of funny.
