Ooh. You know, your theory about where Mal's had contact with Reavers is better than mine. Nice.

Still have to explore mine, of course, can't exactly change course at this point, but in the future, I may have to adopt your theory.

As for the rest, the money problems, the slowly leading them towards looking through the garbage (for job and parts, though it IS Beylix), all very interesting. And I think I might have an idea now just who IS responsible for their account flag.

I liked Mal taking River's advice about treasure from trash. As for Ip that boy is still so niave but has a good heart. Hopefully Jayne will be able to get them a job so they can earn enough coin to keep going. I also liked Mal's thinking, working out where the Reavers had come from and how the Alliance/Blue Sun had used them on both sides during the war. Chilling stuff. Very shiny, ebfiddler, I am giving you a 10! Ali D :~)

"reckon Jayne’d had a good time reconnecting"

Yes, I imagine so...

Hmm interesting turn of events. Nice that IP is pulling his weight in his own way and getting to stay, I mean how else is River suppose to convince him to take her out dancing?

So where's part 9?

Do you think Ip knows how to dance? I mean, I am sure River would like to take him dancing, but unless he signed up for the Irish Step Dancing class to fulfill his PE requirement in college I would bet the man has never seen a dance floor.

Ah, yes, Reavers. Before I started writing my stories, I wrote down a bunch of thoughts about Reavers. Always seemed to me that Mal knew an awful lot about Reavers, the way he went on and on during the episode Bushwhacked. So either he was spinning goushi for Harken, like Jayne said, or...he really knew a lot about Reavers. And if he did know, why did he know so much? So I sat down and worked it out. More about Reavers in upcoming stories.

Jayne and Janice: got her name from the Jaynestown script, where the woman Jayne hooks up with is described as having "a Janis Joplin carnality" to her.

River definitely wants to go dancing with Ip. We'll see what comes of this. ZoesMom, I'd be willing to bet that Ip went to some kind of dancing classes at college or grad school--the kind where you don't have to show up with a partner, like international folk dancing.

In one of the visual companions, Tim Minear discusses an idea for one of his scripts that never saw daylight (though since leaked to the internet, google Tim Minear "Dead or Alive"). At one point he thought he might have Mal and the crew walking together around a carnival, and Kaylee becomes alarmed by a man in chains dressed up like a Reaver. Mal reassures her and tells her that can't be a real Reaver, because a real Reaver in chains and captivity would EAT itself.

Way to calm those fears, Mal.

GREAT continuing episode ebfiddler. I really enjoy the way you’re weaving so many different aspects of the story all together, Reavers, Alliance, River & Ip, Jayne & Janice. By the by Janis Jopin was actually is from my neck of the woods……ha..ha.

Anyhoo, Reavers having been introduce well into the verse before Miranda? Methinks if this be so then maybe that planet wasn’t so much a failed Parliament experiment as a successful one? I like the idea of the high end government powers using them during the war. Perfect way to hide what’s really going on, still what is really going on with that? I’m sure you will get to it at some point, so I’ll catch it then.

I am waiting for your next chapter soon as you can get it posted!

See ya, BPZ
