Chapter 25/25: Ending it...peacfully

His ship was even more lavishly furnished then the room she was in on the other ship. She imagined how his house on Bellerephon would be like- It probably would be better. She was told that it was really safe and had only once in connection to the Security breach during the Lasiter gun incident. She had to terminate the Security Chief. It was ok. He was due for retirement anyway.

It didn’t matter. It was going to be her tomb.

Within several hours, they made it planet-side and she admired what was her now new home. The house was expansive and lavishly furnished with antiques. There were lots of servants including several that would take care of her personal needs. West was whisked away on business and she was left alone. She sat in the library, alone, in the dark, ready to pounce on someone. She didn’t like the fact that this was going to be here life. As a matter of fact, life had a funny way of turning bright when you least expected it.

**

Days. It had been days. Then the days turned the weeks.

She looked at herself in the mirror and wanted to die. Her clothes were expensive and her makeup was layered on. She was numb.

Today was the wedding. And she had lost control again.

What scared her even more was the groom. It had been three weeks and he hadn’t even touched her. He was gentle and soothing when he spoke to her. Perhaps even, dare she though it, loving? She was confused beyond all measure.

Perhaps this was the life the life she always wanted.

She sat there in her extravagant white gown and sulked. Just then she heard the wave screen beep.

She looked around the room.

Well! How 'bout that? Funny how things work out sometimes ain't it, lol.

I'm curious as to what happens next, though. Great work TD. This has been a terrific story! Thanks!

Sorry it's almost over. But great lead in. Feeling her desperation and release. Fantastic. Can't wait for whatever end you have for her story.
