Author’s note: This is set pre-series. The idea popped into my head and made me giggle.

Jayne reached down and grabbed that hundan by the hair, yanking him to his feet in one swift move. Kaylee screamed, scrambling to cover her bare upper torso as the boy who had been on top of her was ripped away.

“What the hell?!” the boy shouted, trying to get his footing on the metal grating and Jayne dragged him back a few feet. The boy's hands reached up, gripping Jayne’s wrist where the mercenary had fisted the his hair.

“Jayne what are you doin’?” Kaylee asked, jumping to her feet and searching around for her top.

“Protectin’ you,” Jayne replied matter of factly.

“Protectin’ me from what? The first sexin’ I’ve had in near three months?” she asked incredulously.

Jayne looked bewildered for a moment, looking between here and the boy before speaking. “Well I weren’t sure is all, if you wanted it I mean. The noises you was makin’…well they really could go either way, Kaylee girl,” Jayne shrugged. “He might’ve been tryin’ t’take advantage of you.”

“I wasn’t taking advantage!” the boy yelled.

“I wanted him t’take advantage of me, Jayne,” Kaylee said firmly. “You even consider that?”

Jayne grinned deviously, the boy ignored for the moment. “Aw, lil Kaylee. If you needed a tumble you know where my bunk is,” he offered.

Kaylee rolled her eyes. “In your dreams, Jayne. Now will you please let Michael go?”

“It’s Matthew,” the boy said quietly.

Kaylee blushed, and looked apologetically at Matthew. “Sorry, it was real loud in the bar. Matthew is a real shiny name though.”

“Thanks,” he replied. “Can I be let go now.”

“What? Oh uh…sure,” Jayne said, letting go of the boy’

The whole thing made me giggle when I thought about it. I'm glad it made others laugh too hah.

Oh...totally in character and hilarious, Mordsith. You definitely need to get more sudden thoughts that make you giggle...cuz this rocked:D
