This is a death poem (Simon speaking on Kaylee's death). Blame MechanicGirlKaylee, and my own death fics, for putting me on this lil' angst fest... enjoy

The word I used to save her,

The word that caused her death,

The words that would have made us,

The words that stopped her breath.

Longer than forever I waited,

Far longer than the shadow of death,

But no longer would I have been sated,

On a look, a feel, a breath.

She once looked on me as lover,

Then as love, and it started then,

And I would cry to the heavens "I love Her!",

If I could have saved her from death.

But, I am all alone, again,

Feeling lost, lost of my friend,

And if I could have died to save her,

I would sell my soul, in the end.

But, no longer will I hear her footsteps,

No longer will she take away my breath,

But no longer will I find her, forever,

But I will find my solace in death

Well. That's just...depressing. I can't decide if I should feel honored or worried. :P

Hoo...boy! This is some excellent angst in poem form, Alliethorn7! And I can really see Simon thinking this way about Kaylee's death:(

And I really think MGK should be honoured you were...inspired partially by her "September" series;)
