Not really firefly or fic related, but I wanted to share. Some chemistry and enviro-sci ahead. Today I got back some lab results and a report from some sampling a voluntary clean-up applicant performed that I assisted with. The results of the report are awesome. Okay, so, when I was looking over the October sampling report, I was concerned because there was a big jump in concentration in one of the wells. There were two possibilities I came up with; either there was another source for the chlorinated solvents, or the remediation treatment had mobilized a slightly more concentrated "plug" of contamination through the groundwater. If it was a plug, once it passed, we would expect the concentration to go back down. If there was another source, we might see concentrations escalate until they were high enough to start volatilizing the chemicals. If the chemicals volatilized, they would degass from the ground water and soil... Directly into an apartment complex that the plume had migrated towards. You can see why we were concerned. But the results came back, concentration is back down. Now, long term they might still be increasing, and that higher value we hit was just a fluke, but if concentration is going to increase, I'd like it to increase at a slow enough pace we can catch it before anyone gets hurt. And at these concentrations, so long as the apartment complex doesn't install any drinking wells, the contaminant won't reach anyone. Good news! Also, today, despite my anxiety issues and automobile-phobia, I drove 28 miles... Solo... For the first time in my life. No family members or supervisors were present. And I didn't die. Woo hoo!

Well, I'm still writing, just not as much as I've been able to in the previous weeks. This is for two reasons: 1) I was really sick for a week and a half and pretty much unable to do anything and 2) I'm in the final stretch of the semester for college and getting my school work done (and done

I pay attention to fashion and clothes shopping about to the extent it helps my drawing/writing and keeps me from being naked. But I got roped into a shopping trip today, and when I was browsing all the new spring lines, kind of bored out of my mind, I noticed something. Most of them this spring are either Asian or Western influenced. It was downright startling to see the two styles on display next to each other. Further study may be conducive for the creative process.

So, a friend gave me the first 7 episodes of Dollhouse she had downloaded to watch yesterday. I love watching it and I think I love trying to pick up the storylines and quotes that joss came up with. I’m surprisingly/disturbingly good at it now. Same with the people he is going to kill off. Anyway, so after watching this yesterday I had a dream about Joss Whedon last night. Nothing crude or creepy (apart from the hand puppets), just a dream that he was in. I think it was suppose to be a cnvention but it looked more like a library gathering and I didn’t recognise anyone else, not even the people I was with. So there Joss was and of course I went over and tried to talk to him. Stuttering (which I don’t), mumbling (which I would probably ramble) and trying to tell the person who’s works I admire most in the world, that I did, he threw the script of my TV show I had been writing back at me. He then showed me (with a hand puppet on) the mistakes he had corrected in bright red pen. That’s pretty much all that happened in that section, the rest was all a little fuzzy and I haven’t got it back in memory form yet. I think it was mostly me trying to achieve some sort of working arrangement with him. Oh and does anyone else think that Dollhouse is basically a Tv series designed around the idea of the facility, and what they were doing to River? I think it’s neat but yeah. That was my dream.

So I'm in pretty much the coolest program EVER at my school, and part of it involves going to Cuba for two weeks, and travelling around with a group of Cuban students. We get to hear lectures about Cuba's history by professors, and get to experience Cuban life. As in, we're not just tourists. I'm SUPER excited! I'm also doing a month-long exchange with Germany with this program. Our German parteners have already come and gone, but we're not going until June. It's going to be SICK!

So my gorgeous 17" laptop plays Blu-ray DVDs. When I found this out I knew right away that my first blu-ray would be Serenity. Well I bought it and man oh man is it ever SHINY!! I'm not the biggest fan of HD and blu-ray...they are far more expensive and for what? a better quality...meh. Well, I swallowed those words after watching Serenity...it is gorgeous!!! Words cannot describe how amazing it is. My favorite feature though HAS to be the fact that the commentary with the cast is VISUAL!!! It's a picture within a picture so we get to see Joss, Summer, Ron, Nathan and Adam talking!!! Summer's foot constantly bobs to the music and Adam is wearing a Serenity shirt and SQUEE!!! So so so so wicked! I also got the novelization finally. I'm actually really enjoying it. I was a bit hesitant because of the Signal's review of it but it is quite fascinating!! Keith references the tv show all the time which is awesome and he flips to the other character's PoV all the time which is awesome cause then we find out what Jayne was thinking during the bank heist and what Wash was thinking while talking to Mr. Universe. Very intriguing. Anywho, funny story to tell but this is getting long so I'll post it at a later date. Y'all stay shiny now!

Funny story: So my friend was complaining once again how I obsess over Firefly which is really funny because I hardly [i]ever[/i] bring it up! I mean, I know others don't necessarily want to talk about it 24/7 so I refrain from bringing it up. I read fanfic, watch videos and visit sites related to it by myself and she always sees and brings attention to it. Well, she was harping about it once more and saying how it was just a silly sci-fi show and that no one has even seen [i]Serenity[/i]. I was all ready to throw some box-office stats at her and tell her about Can't Stop the Serenity screenings when two, TWO, [i]two[/i] people in the row behind us said, "Actually I have! It was awesome!" One girl loves the show too; the guy hadn't gotten around to it yet but he loved the movie. That showed her!!! Funniest moment EVER! The look on her face was priceless!

Im sorry i made this so long. So im asking for help for the stories im putting up named the Wandering Angel, and its first chapter Last Flight of the Angels Hammer. Any way ive had an attack of writers block for the better part of a week. I have a basic story but im trying to fill it out so that its an actual story instead of a list of events. First bit is all back ground for main char. Battle over Hera (Battle of Serenity Vally) and him looking for work. Then in troduce new characters An operative and his doctor frien and another former browncoat and hacker. then wierd stuff happens and we meet The Federation (new military power that takes up arms against alliance) Then there is the official declareation of war against Alliance. and then i have a few battels and then not sure. I have 5 mains but thinking i should add maybe one more. Jackson Fauss: Lt in the independence war, faught in the battel over Hera, became a smuggler with a big syndicate and is know running from said syndicate and alliance. Cody: no last name goes by Viciouse, he is a parlement operative that is being forced back into sevice, family murdered by parlement and is framing cody, sent to take out Fauss for unknown reasons. Kory: Doctor from Shinon family gets murdered by parlement as well be cause of korys and codys friendship, runs and is know flying with cody. Danni McCloud: Mechanic, found by Fauss floating in life pod in open space, gennetic reaserch subject (similar to the psychic stuff done to river but didnt affect her mind.) with a fairly colorful history, her grand father is in the parlementry congress. Mason Bradly: Hacker and former brown coat, steals a Asrev fighter (Firefly episode Message) from alliance cruiser, meets up with Fauss and flys with him Suporting guys; Jim Quon the crime king of Boros, has eyes and ears every where. Gives Fauss jobs. Guy with the big moustach, has no name he likes it that way, he is a black market arms dealer. Greycoat (Federation) Ships Commander, havent assigned a name to him yet, sugestions? he gives work to Fauss to. Grandfather McCloud, Dani's grandfather that helps the crew, supports the new independence movement. And i have new ships: the Federation Star Blockers, the main cruisers, super masive ships that put the alliance cruisers to shame, block the stars for two miles in any direction. Wasp fighters, main fighters of the federation, small, quick and packs a punch. And my favorite the DragonFly, ment to be the browncoats ace in the hole the war ended before it could be utilized, based on the firefly design is faster an more manuverable, has an impressive armement, given to fauss after a discussion with the Greycoat commander. Now you know what i got please help me. Names and such would be helpful and filler ideas for inbetween main events. Thanks All

Well, here we are, eighty-odd Browncoats positively buzzed only it's not ng ka py we're buzzed on. Rather, it's the movie weekend we'll never forget even if some Fed laboratory turns out an amnesia ray a few years from now. I will not have Andrew or Shelley speaking of the fiasco at the airport, so I'll skip straight to the job. We filmed outside of Ocean City, MD - one of those tourist traps that the state residents never go to - and we were the first ones to arrive at a resort that had graciously agreed to house the aforementioned eighty-odd Browncoats for the weekend. Well, being New England Browncoats and being the first to arrive....what's our sworn duty? What, indeed, but make some signs, hang them on the outside of our building, and "attract" our fellow film folks to a pre-film Shindig? When we broke out some beer and wine and were joined by an extra who arrived shortly after we did, I knew it was going to be a fun evening indeed when another extra showed up, looked up to see us imbibing on the second-floor porch, and amusingly announced, I smell beer! And so grew the Shindig, joined by extras and Browncoats and actors who weren't yet Browncoats but undoubtedly would be by the close of the weekend, until we heard the dark news from the shooting site: our poor dear set decorator was on scene. By herself. Dressing the set single handed. Suddenly our never-leave-a-man-stranded sense kicked in and it seemed a much worthier cause to go lend her a hand than hang around drinking and partying. Shindigs take on a whole new specialty when you're helping one of your own, ya know? So we hightailed it to the shooting site and were there till close to midnight preparing the set. Some of us had the fortune to get to bed round midnight, but others weren't so lucky - didn't get to turn in until three in the morning. With a 6:30 call time for filming. I must note here that not only did everybody, and I mean everybody, turn in a brilliant job - a lot of the extras and secondary cast members did double duty helping with the set - but it's a damn good thing we got the hard parts out of the way on the first weekend. To be specific, we filmed the very actiony and paced climax of the movie first, and we filmed it on a sunny day with 50-mile-an-hour winds. I'm not kidding. The air was just roaring in from oceanside, ripping outdoor decorations apart to the point where we had to take a lot of them down. So many of us were sandblasted, windblasted and sunburned by day's end that we looked more like a flock of lobsters (do lobsters form flocks, or some other grouping moniker?) than a contingent of Browncoats. However the complaints were minimal. After all this

... happy birthday to me, happy birthday to mee-hee ... happy birthday to me! A lady doesn't like to talk about her age, so all I'll say is that I'm over 21 (again) and an Aries - just like our dear Captain!

This is the journal of the Keeper of The Black Lighthouse (Onyx Monitoring Station). It documents the days leading up to, and following, the release of the Alliance experiment that released the gas: G-23 Paxillon Hydrochlorate, on the population of the planet Miranda. It is from the perspective of a person, on an island, on the other side of Miranda, and who is working at a Station that Monitors the results and effects of the G-23 gas. The Onyx station is 1 of 8 stations that are positioned in strategic areas of Miranda. The name of monitoring project (not the G-23 project) is Operation Colour Schemer or OCS. This is a 1st hand account. Here is the journal. Do not lose it.

It's the last hour of the workday, and every time I try to think about work, my brain, thinks of Rick Astley's "Never gonna give you up." Why did I have to come to work late today?!!

Yesterday I recieved the greatest birthday gift ever: A hand made JAYNE HAT! (now my favorite piece of apparel I own) But on another note, I probably won't be posting new fanfics here for a while. Currently I'm working on a Dollhouse fanfic series which i'm posting on fanfiction.net. The series is called Virus and I'm four chapters in. Also, for Dollhouse fans, I would highly recommend Zebediah's fanfic "The Castle."

Turned 21 yesterday (4/11/09), so I was out celebrating instead of writing. :D There's one more chapter of "Keeping On" to post, and then I'll probably be quiet as I finish writing the sequel. So far, I have nine stories ("Keeping On" included) planned out in this 'Verse. It's just a matter of writing them. :D -GG

I'm not sure if it matters to anyone, but tomorrow I'm going to be taking my first solo flight ever on an airplane to go to a class in Colorado. I just thought it might be polite to mention that, in case for some reason someone wanted to contact me. I'm not taking a computer, because I don't want my laptop to get lost or stolen, so I might be MIA unless I get to a library. Enjoy your week, everyone!

Have you seen Space Above and Beyond?I know this isn't really the place for this , but was wondering what you thought. I just kinda stumbled upon it so I got it. It's funny how when I watch anything now I compare to our BDH and just want the writing to be better. It kept me entertained though. It was worth the clearance price.

So, for some odd reason one of the resources for my print production class has a list of anniversaries and what they're called. This caught my eye: 7th Septennial 8th Octennial 9th Novennial 10th Decennial This first made me think that whoever it was coming up with the names of the months was running out of ideas near the end there. It then made me think that, by the number names, those months are named [i]wrong.[/i] Just an utterly random thing. I had to get it out of my head.

The great move is now reality. I'm moving from my grandparent's and Mom's old house to a newer, smaller rental house while this one is up for sale. I guess I'm following the national trend of downsizing and simplifying my life. Half my big stuff is in the new place and on Saturday morning the rest will be over there, phone and internet will be going. *crosses fingers big time*. That just leaves little details like clothes, dishes, food etc. The chest freezer is already over there thanks to a co worker and his son. They came over and really moved fast for 2 1/2 hours Wednesday, literally manhandling, a sleeper sofa that's at least 45 years old. Yes, it's been recovered but it weighs a ton and didn't fit easily through any of the doors in the old house, except for the porch door and down into the trailer. It acted like it didn't want to leave the house but it eventually did. Went out and bought my daughter a new full sized mattress, foundation and springs. Whoa! I hadn't bought one in years and the price shocked me. Of course, each piece is priced separately and a delivery charge. I hope that I don't have to buy another new one any time soon. It left a big hole in my wallet. All that's left of the big stuff is my bed, TV stand , desk and electronics including the PC. I have more help from work coming Saturday morning. People are so nice. My faith in the goodness of people really has been renewed lately. The PC and router/modem placement is my daughter's job. I'll be off line on Friday and hopefully back up in the new place on Saturday evening. The phone company and my dauaghter's computer skills willing. Random moving happening: I went to the local ABC store (state liquor store for those of you not in NC) and got tons of boxes. They are great for glasses and dishes as they are divided in half. First thing I saw was 2 boxes for Firefly Flavored Vodka from a distillery in South Carolina. I'd heard about it online but I hadn't seen any. I just had to take those two boxes and I think I'll keep them. I'm such a hopeless Browncoat.

I'm here to kick ass and read fanfiction! And I'm all out of ass! Actually, This is a record of all my most favorite authors here. ScrewtheAlliance TamSibling More to come. It Really sucks theres no e-mail notification system in the Blue Sun Room. And why is it called that? Do evil corporations write fanfiction? If they do, is it good fanfiction, or crappy shit?

Ni hao! You've done right by me, mostly, so I come to you with a question. What Firefly costume should I work on next. I have TV and movie Kaylee, Simon, a crappy River, Inara, and of course the Ariel EMTs. What next?

I've spent the last few weeks buying up the bits for my Wash costume. Just gotta get the dinos.

First off, I'd like to say hello to all you fellow Browncoats. I be new to this here moon, but a long time lurker. I got into firefly through the Big Damn Movie, which I saw in cinema's... twice. Ya'll obviously no the feeling of loss that comes when finding out our fight only lasted one season, but here comes my point. I'm also a long time forum RPer, and to Firefly Fans. Net, I bring my latest concept. A Defiant one at that. "A Defiant 'Verse" is currently looking for players, and can be found in the Firefly Universe subsection, or from the link at the bottom of this log. So, to rap up, I braught me whole lot of Mudders Milk and I extend it to ya'll I'm joining on this Forum today!

Three of them. Big as my fist! Probably the best I've ever tasted, too. Are they in season or something? Too early around here. And how'd they get so big, growth hormones? Anyway, thought I'd give the heads up, some of you might also have some monster tasty strawberries at your nearest grocer.

Yes of course I picked that title at random. No association with the song lyric. Ha. This log doesn't really need to come into being, but it's going to. Read an article today and decided to do the most random log entry ever, barring the one about hilfolk narrated by a thug with the mind of a spy and the vocabulary of a third grader. Hard to top. So, smells are underappreciated. Just feel the need for a little exhibitionism. So here goes--there are two kinds of smells in the verse. The first--like pretty florals to put in your bonnet (mind the bees), just plain smell nice and that's why we like 'em. What we call "associational" good smells may or may not be inherently pleasant--these have a strong association with memories that were pleasurable. A long list of mine, excising the ones that are specifically food, flowers, extra fragrances. well worn leather freshly cut grass dirt after rain (not "earth" mind you, dirt) slate after rain-- I promise it's different wet concrete--trend here... plum leaves furniture oil (ok, it's lemon...) horses seaspray pine lemon zest hot clean dishes (not the soap) clay old books hot wax (both the candle and crayon kind) cardboard sunscreen woodsmoke, candlesmoke marsh redwood shade clover baby powder warm metal fog/rain/snow/frost--these do all "smell" Rope hay/dry grass stubble Jack o lanterns wicker baskets rotting leaves potting soil airports/airplane hospitals tomato plants oak forest dirt roads sawdust asphalt eucalyptus lipstick chalk board ivy air dried laundry goosedown shaving cream sagebrush cow pasture geraniums carrot tops old houses rosin dog feet printer ink/newspaper bricks henna damp wool floor wax elmers glue shoe polish Well. As you can see, I am grateful for the nose on my face.

First off, I am by no means a rocket scientists. But, I was thinking about space travel in general and what I believe would an effective way to travel within our solar system. The problem I see is acceleration. It would take too much fuel, even in the vacuum of space. What I propose is this, Maglev trains in space. Once in space, these would require no fuel. They would only require energy which could be provided by nuclear power. These trains can accelerate to about 4000 mph. Considering that Mars is 36 million miles away one could reach the planet in about 375 days. (36,000,000 miles/40000 mph = 9000 hours = 375 days) This would be just like sling shotting a space ship towards its final destination. A problem I do see in this plan is that in order to prevent this from being one way trip is that the final destination would need a Maglev set up in order for the team of travelers to return. Any thoughts?

Animal: Swan. Name: Serenity. Personality: You are beautiful, whether you know it or not. You care for others and even if people don’t know it, you hold everybody close to your heart. Wish: Your wish is to one day, be free from everything around you. You want to go far away, you will miss your family and friends but you believe it is for the best. Friends: Your friends with everyone, some more then others. If you meet someone they are on your friends list. But if someone were to hurt someone close to you, you will hold a grudge against him or her for a very, very long time. Color: You like pale colors, preferably a light blue, green, purple or pink. Stone: White Sapphire. Hobbies: You should consider meditating, yoga, and things of that sort. Something relaxing. Maybe take a bubble bath. Quote: “Dare to dream, dare to fly, dare to be the ever chosen one to touch the sky.” –Quote I read somewhere. “The only thing better then love, is freedom.” –Quote by me. This quote is my opinion no one else’s. I’m sorry if you got this and you don’t believe that quote, it could also be that you believe freedom is a great part of life. Took this quiz for my inner animal and though I wished it was something other than a swan, Cat would have been nice  I thought the name was quite funny!!

I always feel a kind of sadness whenever I finish a multi-part fic. You work forever on something, it seems, and then it's over. I'm incredibly proud of "Keeping On." I don't think words can quite say how proud of it I am. I set out to write a fic unlike anything I've written before, and I did it. "Keeping On" surprised me with where it went. It grew in ways that I didn't think it ever would, and it seemed to take on a life of it's own, prompting me to plan out other stories in the same 'Verse. I'm already seven chapters into it's sequel, which, as I've said before, won't be posted until it's complete. Thank you to everyone who has read "Keeping On," and thank you for embracing it the way you all did. -GG

Or so I've been told by my gamer friends. They think they know everything. My life is turning out to be a lot more Escher- like than I thought it would be a year ago. At the moment, left is right and up is down, like a colossal game of Twister played in a gyrescope. It's good to know, though, that I'm in a labyrinth and not a maze.I think. In a maze, you're supposed to be lost forever-- in a labyrinth you get to the center even though it seems like you're not going anywhere. But the labyrinth always has a monster. Which way?

I’m not lazy, really! I’ve been drawing some, finalizing the Firefly anime/stylized character designs I’ve been working on. They’re not good enough yet for the Blue Sun Room… “Cherry Blossom” is more of an example of a FINISHED character design image. But these sketches are going to be the “model” that I use to finish the other eight pictures, and also the style I’m adopting for some Firefly internet manga/graphic novel stuff. Anyway, I thought maybe people would like to see them. I’m pretty happy with how they all look, though in some cases I had to go more with more of a spirit of the character than an accurate portrayal of their appearance to render them in a style consistent with the others. So if anyone can offer any suggestions how to improve, fire away! It's at ok5/bytemite/AnnonNoHanashiSketch1.jpg at www.angelfire.com

When I was at Creation this year, the California Browncoats were totally awesome and I got to talk with some of them and they were giving out these cute little one inch tall buddahs. Well, I brought mine into my exams every single time this year. I would furiously rub its head for luck before hand and set it up so that it would watch my paper. It worked! I got really really high marks on all my exams!! All A, A- and A+!!! So I want to say thank you for giving me the bestest good luck charm ever! Also, my computer programming teacher saw it and picked it up and then told me he had one too! SQUEE!

Teacher: Earth-That-Was could no longer sustain our numbers, we were so many. We found a new solar system, dozens of planets and hundreds of moons. Each one terraformed, a process taking decades, to support human life, to be new Earths. The Central Planets formed the Alliance. Ruled by an interplanetary parliament, the Alliance was a beacon of civilization. The savage outer planets were not so enlightened and refused Alliance control. The war was devastating, but the Alliance's victory over the Independents ensured a safer universe. And now everyone can enjoy the comfort and enlightenment of our civilization. Young River: People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome. [Simon has infiltrated the facility where River is being held, and questions a doctor on her condition] Simon: [impersonating an Alliance official] How is she physically? Dr. Mathias: Like nothing we've seen. All our subjects are conditioned for combat, but River…she's a creature of extraordinary grace. Simon: Yes…she always did love to dance. [Simon activates a device, the pulse of which renders all present scientists unconscious] Dr. Mathias: [on recording] Key members of Parliament have personally observed this subject. I thought-- [recording pauses] The Operative: Key…members…of Parliament. Key. The minds behind every military, diplomatic, and covert operation in the galaxy…and you put them…in a room…with a psychic. The Operative: Secrets are not my concern. Keeping them is. The Operative: You know, in certain older civilized cultures, when men failed as entirely as you have, they would throw themselves on their swords. Dr. Mathias: Well, unfortunately, I forgot to bring a sword. [The Operative unsheathes his sword] Dr. Mathias: I would put that down right now if I were you— The Operative: Would you be killed in your sleep, like an ailing pet? [After Dr. Mathias falls onto the Operative's sword] The Operative: This is a good death. There's no shame in this, in a man's death. A man who has done fine works. We're making a better world. All of them better worlds. [As Serenity begins a fiery dive into atmo, a panel on the bow breaks off, flying over the cockpit's viewport] Mal: What was that? Wash: Did you see that? Mal: Was that the primary buffer panel? Wash: It did seem to resemble— Mal: Did the primary buffer panel just fall off my gorram ship for no apparent reason? [Serenity shudders.] Wash: Looks like. Mal: I thought Kaylee just checked the entry couplings. I have a very clear memory of it! Wash: Yeah well, if she doesn't give us some extra flow from the engine room to offset the burn-through, this landing is going to get pretty interesting. Mal: Define interesting! Wash: [deadpan] "Oh god, oh god, we're all gonna die"? Mal: [on the ship intercom] This is the captain, we have a lil' problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight…turbulence, and then…explode. [to Wash] Can you shave the vector? Wash: I'm doing it! It's not enough. Mal: Just get us on the ground! Wash: That part will happen pretty definitely. Jayne: We're gonna explode? I don't wanna explode! Mal: Jayne, how many weapons you plan on taking? You only got the two arms. Jayne: Well, I just get excitable as to choice. Like to have my options open. Mal: I don't plan on any shooting taking place during this job. Jayne: Yeah, well what you plan and what takes place ain't ever exactly been similar. Mal: …No grenades. Jayne: Huh? Aw… Mal: No grenades! Zoe: We crashing again? Mal: Talk to your husband. Mule prepped? Zoe: Good to go, sir. Just loading her up. [She turns to Jayne as Mal walks off.] Those grenades? Jayne: Yeah, Captain doesn't want them. Zoe: Jayne, we're robbing the place. We're not occupying it. Mal: Kaylee! Kaylee, what in the sphincter of hell are you playing at? We got the primary buffer panel coming right— Kaylee: Everything's shiny, Cap'n. Not to fret. Mal: You told me t

Zoe: In the time of war, we never would've left a man stranded. Mal: Maybe that's why we lost. Jayne: I'll kill a man in a fair fight, or if I think he's gonna start a fair fight… If he bothers me, or if there's a woman… Or if I'm gettin' paid. Mostly only when I'm gettin' paid. Kaylee: Don't ride in anything with a Capissen 38 engine, they fall right out of the sky. Kaylee: We're [going] on a year now, I ain't had nothing 'twixt my nethers weren't run on batteries. [Wash and Zoe glance at each other, embarrassed] Mal: Oh, God! I can't know that! Jayne: [Eyeing Kaylee] I could stand to hear a little more. [Mal greets Fanty and Mingo, identical twins.] Mal: Fanty, Mingo. Mingo: He's Mingo. Mal: He's Fanty, you're Mingo. Mingo: How is it you always know? Mal: Fanty's prettier. Fruity Oaty Bar Jingle: Fruity Oaty Bars! Make a man out of a mouse! Fruity Oaty Bars! Make you bust out of your blouse! Eat them all the time! Let them blow your mind, ohh! Fruity Oaty Bars! [River has just started a bar fight.] Jayne: Hey, tussle! Mal: [Realizing River is the one beating the bar patrons senseless] Jayne… [After River's swift incapacitation of a barful of patrons, the crew regroups on Serenity.] Mal: [to Simon] I believe you got some storytelling to do. What in the hell happened back there? Wash: Start with the part where Jayne gets knocked out by a 90-pound girl, 'cause…I don't think that's ever getting old. Mr Universe: [Watching the recording of the bar fight] You guys always bring me the very best violence. [They watch the rest of the fight, which ends with Simon shouting a safe word that causes River to lose consciousness] Mr Universe: ...And she falls asleep. Which, she would be sleepy. Mr. Universe: You can't stop the signal, Mal. Everything goes somewhere, and I go everywhere. River: Show me off like a dog. Old men covered in blood; it never touched them but they're drowning in it. River: Put a bullet to me… Bullet in the brainpan, squish. Book: You got a plan? Mal: Hiding ain't a plan? . . . [Mal mentions that he could have left River behind.] Book: It's not your way, Mal. Mal: I have a way? That better than a plan? Mal: It's of interest to me how much you seem to know about that world. Book: I wasn't born a Shepherd, Mal. Mal: You have to tell me about that sometime. Book: [Pauses] No, I don't. [After the crew, eavesdropping on a 'wave between Mal and Inara, sees Inara invite the crew to join her at the companion training house] Wash: Inara. Nice to see her again. Zoe: So…trap? Mal: Trap. Zoe: Are we going in? Mal: Oh, it ain't but a few hours out. Wash: Yeah, but, remember the part where it's a trap? . . . Kaylee: But how can you be sure Inara don't just wanna see you? Sometimes people have feelings. And I'm referring here to…people. Mal: You all were watching, I take it? Kaylee: Yes. Mal: Did you see us fight? Kaylee: No. Mal: Trap. Mal: Zoe, the ship is yours. Remember, if anything happens to me; if you don't hear from me within the hour; you take this ship and you come and you rescue me! Zoe: What? And risk my ship? Mal: I mean it. It's cold out there, and I don't want to get left. [Mal, wearing a robe covered in tassels, kneels next to Inara in front of a Buddhist shrine.] Mal: Dear Buddha, please bring me a pony, and a plastic rocket, and one of those— Inara: Mal, what are you doing here? Mal: ...Well...you invited me... Inara: Yes, but I never thought in a million years that you'd be stupid enough to actually come! Mal: Well, that makes you sort of a tease, now, doesn't it? The Operative: I have to say, Captain, I'm impressed that you would come for her yourself. And that you would make it this far…in that outfit. Mal: I can be very graceful when I need to. The Operative: I've no doubt. Mal: She is a mite unpredictable. Mood swings, of a sort. The Operative: It's worse than you know. Mal: It usually is. The Operative: That girl will rain destruction down on you and your ship. She is an albatross, Captain. Mal: The way I remember it, albatross was a s

Mal: [angrily] Do you want to run this ship? Jayne: Yes! Mal: Well…you can't! [After discussing the danger River poses to the crew.] Simon: We'll get off. River and I will get off at Haven. We'll find some— Kaylee: Nobody's saying that. Wash: Nobody besides Jayne is saying that. Mal: I got no answers for you Inara. I got no rudder. Wind blows northerly, I go north. That's who I am. Now maybe that ain't a man to lead but they got to follow. So you want to tear me down? Do it inside your own mind. Inara: I'm not trying to tear you down. Mal: But you fog things up. You always have. You spin me about. I wish like hell you were elsewhere. [Mal turns and stalks away] Inara: [Quietly] I was. [River has a gun trained on Mal as Mal tries to talk her down.] Mal: The government's man, he says you're a danger to us. Not worth helping. Is he right? Are you anything but a weapon? I staked my crew's life on the theory [that] you're a person, actual and whole. And if I'm wrong, you best shoot me now- [River cocks the gun.] Mal: Or, we could talk more. Mal: Half of writing history is hiding the truth. Book: I shot him down…Killed the ship that killed us. Not very Christian of me. Mal: You did what's right. Book: Coming from you, that means almost nothing. . . . Book: I'm long gone. Mal: No, Doc will bring you around. I look to be bored by many more sermons before you slip. Book: You can't order me around, boy. I'm not one of your crew. Mal: Yes you are. Mal: I don't murder children. The Operative: I do...If I have to. [After Mal orders the crew to modify Serenity] Zoe: Sir, do you really mean to turn our home into an abomination so that we can make a suicidal attempt at passing through Reaver space? Mal: I mean to live. I mean for us to live. The Alliance won't have that, so we go where they don't follow. [To a technician who has obviously just informed him that Serenity has given him the slip] The Operative: Define "disappeared." Wash: Can I make a suggestion that doesn't involve killing anybody, or is this the wrong crowd? River: Run-tse duh shang-dee, ching dai-wuhtzo! Make them stop! They're everywhere! Every city, every… every house, every room—they're all inside me! I can hear them all and they're saying nothing! Get up! Please get up! Wuo-shang mayer, maysheen, byen shr-to… Please, God, make me a stone… Jayne: [upset] She is starting to damage my calm… Zoe: Jayne— Jayne: She's right! Everybody's dead. This whole world's dead for no reason! [Mal and the crew watch a holographic report on the Mirandans' fate.] Dr. Caron: There's 30 million people here, and they just let themselves die. [Everyone jumps at the sound of a brutal attack in the distance.] Dr. Caron: I have to be quick! About a tenth of a percent of the population had the opposite reaction to the Pax. Their aggressor response increased beyond madness. They have become… [A crash is heard in the background, now closer] Dr. Caron: [sobs] Well, they've killed most of us. And not just killed…they've done things… Wash: [A look of realization on his face] Reavers...They made them. Dr. Caron: I won't live to report this, but people have to know. We meant it for the best…to make people safer. Mal: This report is maybe twelve years old. Parliament buried it, and it stayed buried till River dug it up. This is what they feared she knew. And they were right to fear because there’s a whole universe of folk who are gonna know it, too. They’re gonna see it. Somebody has to speak for these people. You all got on this boat for different reasons, but you all come to the same place. So now I’m asking more of you than I have before. Maybe all. Sure as I know anything I know this, they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, ten, they’ll swing back to the belief that they can make people…better. And I do not hold to that. So no more running. I aim to misbehave. . . . Jayne: [Taking a drink from a bottle of liquor] Shepherd Book always used to say, "If you can't do somethin' smart...do somethi

The Operative: [as Serenity approaches a gathered Alliance fleet] Bastard isn't even changing course. [An enormous Reaver fleet appears in pursuit of Serenity. A look of horror crosses The Operative's face] Ensign: Uhh…sir? The Operative: Target the Reavers. Target the Reavers! Target everyone! Somebody fire! Mal: [leading the Reaver and Alliance fleets into combat, and stuck in the middle] The chicken's come home to roost. [Serenity comes to a stop after a crash landing on Mr. Universe's planet.] Wash: [relieved] I am a leaf on the wind. Watch how I— [A Reaver harpoon impales Wash, killing him.] [As the Reavers batter the entrance to the crew's final stand, Simon turns to a shaking Kaylee.] Simon: My one regret in all of this... is never being with you. Kaylee: With me? You mean to say, as in.. sex? Simon: I mean to say. [Kaylee cocks her gun, with determination.] Kaylee: Hell with this. I'm gonna live! [River to a wounded Simon] River: You take care of me, Simon. You've always taken care of me. My turn. [River dives through the opening in the blast door, throws Simon's med kit through, seals the door... and proceeds to kick SERIOUS Reaver ass.] Mal: The whole Universe is going to know about this, because they need to. The Operative: Do you really believe that? Mal: I do. The Operative: And are you ready to die for that belief? Mal: I am. [Mal draws his gun and shoots, forcing the Operative to take cover.] Mal: [Making a break for the auxiliary control complex] Course, that ain't exactly Plan A... [the Operative manages to stab Mal with his sword.] The Operative: Do you know what your sin is, Mal? Mal: Aw, hell...I'm a fan of all seven. [Mal headbutts the Operative and pulls the sword out.] Mal: But right now...I'm gonna have to go with wrath. [The Operative has apparantly paralyzed Mal with a strike to his lower back. As the Operative retrieves his sword, we see Mal's fingers twitch and realization dawn on Mal's face. The Operative approaches with his sword, prepared to strike.] The Operative: You've done remarkable things, but you're fighting a war you've already lost. [As The Operative is about to run Mal through with the sword, Mal grabs The Operative's arm, dodges the sword, and elbows The Operative in the throat. The Operative gasps and drops the sword.] Mal: Yeah, well, I'm known for that. [Mal dislocates both of The Operative's shoulders. Mal: Piece of shrapnel tore up that nerve cluster'n my first tour. Had it moved. Sorry 'bout the throat. Expect you'd wanna say your famous last words now. Just one trouble. [Mal shoves The Operative's sword through his straps, pinning The Operative to a railing.] Mal: I ain't gonna kill ya. [Mal pulls out the recording that he and the crew of Serenity saw on Miranda and preps the console.] Mal: Hell, I'm gonna grant your greatest wish. I'm gonna show you a world without sin. [Mal is loading up the last of the repair equipment.] The Operative: It's not over, you know. [Mal instinctively goes to his holster, but doesn't draw. He turns to face the Operative.] The Operative: I can't guarantee they won't come after you-the Parliament. Your broadwave about Miranda has weakened their regime, but they are not gone, and they are not…forgiving. Mal: Well, that don't bode especially well for you—giving the order to let us go, patching up our hurt— The Operative: I told them the Tams were no longer a threat. Damage done. They might listen, but I think they know I'm no longer their man. Mal: They take you down, I don't expect to grieve over much. Like to kill you myself, I see you again. The Operative: You won't…There is nothing left to see. [In the deleted scenes] The Operative: [looking at the name on the ship's hull] Serenity. You lost everything in that battle. Everything you believed in, everything you fought for…how did you go on? Mal: If you're still standing there when those engines start goin', you'll never find out. [The Operative blinks, looks down and walks away.] Mal: [muttered] What a whiner. Zoe: Sir, we have a green light.

Good morning Firefly fans After putting up my latest attempt at FF fan-fic on the forum here I decided to venture back and see how much Firefly fiction that I’ve written. HOLY SMOKES!! I didn’t realize that I had so much crap in the BlueSunRoom. Sorry about that Haken. I promise to get a shrink wrap machine and keep it all together, or how about this, I’ll knock out that west wall ( that’s right, the one with aunt Niska on it) add a door and build an addition to my BSR, that Ok? Anyhoo, here’s some of what I have in there right now. Fan-Fic: 1) The Happy Budda 1-5; A new Companion joins the crew of Serenity. Only for a short time, but it’s long enough…….if you get my point. 2) Life after death 1 & 2; A look at what might have been had Firefly been renewed for new future episodes until we finally became sick of them ( not that that would ever happen) 3) Law of the West 1-5; Mal with a noose around his neck. Tell me it could never happen. 4) The Promise 1-4; River looks for a friend that was left behind at the asylum/school for the gifted, after her rescue by brother Simon. 5) Seeking the Truth 1-3; A family member searches for the truth after the crew of Serenity brings the body of a brother home upon his last request. 6)Three Strikes 1-4; What if Badger’s business was taken over by someone else? Someone with a history and revenge in their heart for Serenity? 7) Smartest Man on the Planet 1-5; Jayne becomes a doctor? What the heck, yeah like that’s gonna happen! 8) Have I Got A Deal for You 1(only); A member of Serenity finds themselves with a proposition they cannot refuse, or can they. These are some of the Fan-Fic in Z’s BSR fiction box. There are some others and a couple of OT that have nothing to do with FF. I’ve enjoyed writing them and I hope readers have enjoyed taking a look. Anyway, take care and peace out. Z

I went looking for an actress who I could use as a basis for my readers to Imagine Maxine in my new Storyline, New Blood. Needing a tall, busty redhead led me to only one choice, Laura Prepon from 'That 70's Show.' Anyone else who might fit the bill? Brian

Every time I bring up the fact that they're getting on my case about exercising, even though, I've finally worked out a system, it just dosen't seem fast enough for them. Granted we've had trust issues in the past, but, I've kept to my word about exercising three times a week, plus at least once on weekends(on my own time and terms). Every time I've done that, they've gotten on my case about exercising on the days I didn't plan out with them. I'm thinking I need Dr. Phil here, JossIsAGod

Things I learned this weekend: 1. Even if you leave early, you'll get to your destination at your original arrival time as I-95 has at least 3 inevitable places where you slow to a crawl. 2. Sometimes you bump into the darndest people at Boston Market. Like movie directors and their wives. MsA It was Mike Dougherty, the director of Browncoats: Redemption and his wife, Kelly. When I arrived they were already sitting with Phyrelight, Tamidala, Steamer and others. 3. A GPS unit can either get you out of trouble or into trouble, it just depends. Sometimes it sends you in circles, in strange cities. 4.. Always have a hotel suite mate that carries her own tool box. You never know when the bathtub faucet drops off. And it's usually after 1 a.m. when the hotel maintenance person has gone home to their own bed. 6. Sometimes written directions are better than GPS units. 7. Browncoats are unflappable, no matter what happens. 8. Picnic shindigs are the best, but don't forget the sunscreen or the allergy medicine. 9. Terrifyin' Space Monkeys always cause problems. But everyone still smiles at them. 10. Staying up past 2 a.m. talking Firefly and other things with Browncoats is fun. 11. Renewing friendships with Browncoats you know is good. Making new Browncoat friendships is fun too. 12. All of this equals a magical weekend as an extra on the set of Browncoats: Redemption and a once in a lifetime chance to be part of something wonderful. Many thanks to the wonderful cast and crew. I had a fantastic time and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

There were at least four Firefly characters in my dream last night. Or maybe three, and some chump dressed as Wash-with-mustache. When I discovered he was a fake, I knocked him cold and stole his fake mustache.

EDIT: Language has been cleaned up. Should be safe. This is a roommate rant. You are warned. It may contain language not suitable for minors. I don't swear in real life but it helped blow off steam. I'd like to scream it in their faces. It's quite complicated. It's on here because I can't take it any more, the little mind games, and being the exhibitionist that I am, I want to get it out somewhere where maybe someone will see it. That thought comforts me. That said, I know my pain is replicated a thousand times over in apartments all over the world, it isn't a big deal. I don't care. How I feel: "It's getting very crowded in here." ----------------------------------------------- I should have known when my "no" wasn't enough. When utter refusal meant they'd just keep pleading and whining until my entire family was forced to give in from a combination of public opinion and exhaustion. I should have known when our conceptions of rudeness not only didn't match but wouldn't even compromise (on their end). I should have known when I had to arbitrate an insane 3-day screaming match for the good of the whole. They're only united against me. It's creepy to watch the fake smiling. You wonder if they know they're fake. I should have known when insects ellicted hysterics. At two in the morning. I should have known when the drama started. The drama they pretend isn't drama. To them, it's normal--culture clash I guess. I should have known when they started labeling the chores, every little thing like they were saints. I should have known when I could never communicate with them, their phones never on, not even their ridiculous little absurd notes. It looks like a note factory in here. And I don't like never knowing where they are or when they'll be home. When they never call back. Ever. Or their relatives calling me wanting to know. I should have known when they started talking about me in a language I don't understand. I should have known when they were one thing to my face and another behind my back. That they kept the conflict in enough to needle me about stupid jerky things. Secretly. Cowards. Manipulative garbage rats. I should have known when I realized that image is all that matters to them, not truth. Same with blame--who gives a care if the problem gets solved, it's WHO DID IT that's the real problem. Since there's three of us, that's ME. I should have known when they kept me up at night and acted like I was the crazy one for being angry. I should have known when they blamed me keeping them up for their grades. I should have known when I repeatedly tutored one of them, free of charge and she treated me like a slave. I stopped. I should have known when they started talking to me like a small child. I should have known when I started doing all the work. I should have known when they treated my (freely shared) stuff like garbage. And like it was theirs. Or rather, not theirs. i.e. like garbage. I should have known when they ignored everything I said or asked. Even when it would have saved them pain. I should have know when they acted like they had to walk on eggshells around me. !?? I should have known when they did life or rental-threatening things out of pure stupidity. I should have known when they refused to take responsibility for anything. I should have known when they were always waiting for me to open my door so they could "ask" ever so politely about something... I should have known when they started acting like I was dirty. I should have known when they signed another lease without even mentioning it to me. I should have known when the entirety of these things continue to get worse, including tonight's incident which I cannot discuss. But one of them is convinced I lied about something disgusting, because in her mind there's no way any of her suppositions are wrong because it's just my word against the other one's. She can go to hell for all I care anymore. Funny part is I'm the one not of her religion. S
