Just a slow Sunday around me. Nothing stress full as I am still feeling Friday in my back.

Well, my hair dryer just died today. I managed to get half of my hair dry. 
Though it did pretty good for something that had been packed away in a box for a good number of years before I could get to it. It seems that my hair dryer was just over heated but will have a look for a new one.

I've never had a hair dryer break and it's nothing I've ever seen somebody else say happened to them before. We can't even make a proper hair dryer without a built-in shelf life anymore, huh? Makes me think that the 25 year old hair dryer I have shouldn't be in my crawl space in case my pipes freeze. Who knows? Maybe I grow my hair out one last time.

Wasn't planning on doing anything with it today, but all of the sudden I got the itch to do something with the bathroom again and I got it all primered. It looks like that BS caulk job they did was at least a silicone composite that you can paint over. I've run into silicone that is impossible to paint on. I'm sure this stuff was white at some time, but it was all yellow now. This is the stuff at the very top of the vinyl walls where it should meet the ceiling but doesn't because they were not good at the work they were doing. I went ahead and hit that with 2 coats of primer as I went along. The difference just doing that is night and day.
Bathrooms are funny because of just how much cutting in and weird angles you end up doing when painting compared to any other room in your house. It's essentially 95% of the cut in and 100% of the corners, but in a room 1/10th the size of any of the others. It just always seems like painting will be a super quick job because of how small the room is, but it doesn't really work out that way. I'd say it's pretty frustrating how much paint you waste with rolling so little surface area and everything that gets washed down the drain no matter how well you think you did reclaiming the paint with your 5-in-1 tool. Especially when you've got one color that might not make it to the end of the job.
I decided to caulk the window and the interior of the door frame while I was at it, and then I used my wood filler to fill in some rather large gaps on either side of the window to the miniature jambs they put in that were more than 1/4" short of doing the job at the worst parts toward the bottom.
The rest of the electric in there was just beyond crazy. The two wires going up went into one of about a dozen holes they just haphazardly drilled into the wall until they got one they apparently felt okay with just shoving those two wires through. No box, no nothing. At least the wires weren't bare copper. That's the only positive I can say about that job.
That will add a few more bucks to the job. I'm already putting a box where you can reach it inside the hole for the medicine cabinet to join the existing flex conduit to. Now I'll have to get a 2nd box that attaches to drywall for up there once I know exactly where the vanity light is going. I won't hard pipe anything, but nothing I do is anything less than flex pipe. I believe that Romex might be legal even in your house in these parts, but one thing I don't play around with when it comes to code is electric and I'll always go as close to the Illinois standards as possible. I've torn down quite a few walls in this house to put electric in properly before, but I just don't have that in me to be busting out 2 walls just to put in some hard pipe anymore. Those days are over. It won't be perfect, but it will be well beyond my local code requirements and most importantly it will be SAFE.
Just a single coat of primer and the room looks 100 times better than it did before. Those walls were gross, stained and unwashable since the day I moved in.
I think I'll paint the ceiling now and then hit one coat of paint on the walls, making sure to cut in twice along the edges where I cut out all that terrible caulk so I can install those quarter round pieces as soon as they're painted and ready. Once those are up, painting that wall without getting it where I don't want it to go will be nearly impossible since it will be so close to the door on one end and the window on the other.
I think I'm going to paint one coat of the lighter color on the window wall that I intend on painting with the darker color on the vanity and the cabinets. That's the color that I'm running out of, and I still have probably 20sq/ft on the wall to paint twice as well as the entire medicine cabinet inside and out 3 times. Maybe if I put a coat or two of the lighter stuff up first I can go a bit thinner than I usually do with the

Well, given the length of my hair, a dryer is needed. When I was a kid they used to last longer for sure. But now nothing really does.

Sounds like your bathroom is coming along nicely, SIX! It must be something of a relief when you first walk in and see how much better it looks than before!
BRENDA, I wish that you had gotten tired doing something more rewarding. When you recover, plan on doing something satisfying.

I'm sure you know how this goes SIX. I go out to do yardwork with something specific in mind, but I start doing something else that I say I'm going to do "just a little" and I get a bug about it and can't stop until it's either done or I'm exhausted.
So yesterday I was going to chop up and bin up all the trimmings and palm fronds, and wound up pulling all the dead wands from the rose bushes until it was done.
At least I did start deep watering the avocados.
Today I'm going to pull down the passionflower vine (alas, fruit not edible) that's completely taken over a big camellia and part of an avocado tree.
I guess at some point I'm going to have to bin up all the current trimmings.
