It is not real dollars because no money changes hands until the entire billion has been pledged, but still the Trump voters can't get to $20 million.
Trump could pledge 5 times that, but he hasn't pledged any of his money.
Trump, and most of his voters, are not serious about the Wall when they won't even make a cost-free pledge of money toward building it.
And let us not forget Fund The Wall which wrote: "Based on best estimates of cost per mile, so far we've funded 296.05 linear feet of wall."
Fund The Wall notes that Trump voters can well afford to pay for Trump's Wall: "Why wait? Americans contributed $410.02 billion to charity in 2017. 2018 will surely be even more. Generating $5B in contributions to border security for each of the next 5 years would comprise at most 1.2% of annual giving. We can spare it!"

To get things done, the president needs to shut up.
Trump believed in advance of his Tuesday night Oval Office address that speaking to the public about his desire for a border wall was pointless.
And he did not want to make the publicity stunt trip to the Texas border zone that is scheduled for Thursday.
“It’s not going to change a damn thing,” Trump reportedly said.
Trump was right about the damn thing. Time and again, even presidents who are universally regarded as eloquent public speakers and effective public communicators — think Ronald Reagan or Barack Obama — have tried and failed to bring public opinion around to their point of view by talking about it. Trump is not a charming, eloquent figure in their mold. The presidential “bully pulpit” is one of the office’s real powers, but it simply doesn’t work the way proponents of this strategy want it to.
And that goes double or triple for a crude and unpopular president like Trump.
The place for him to make progress toward his goals on border security is the obscure back rooms of Congress where deals can be cut and priorities swapped. Talking about his agenda in high-profile ways — and dramatizing his commitment to it by shutting down the government — is completely counterproductive, serving only to fire up millions of banal Democrats who’ve never in their lives held an opinion about what kind of border security measures are appropriate in rural West Texas.

When I read what he said, rather than listening to Trump, I realize the guy talks ten times faster than his brain works. He really needs to talk less and less while doing more and more thinking in private, taking notes, looking up answers rather than making up his facts on the fly. The next couple of years are going to get really chaotic for him on the job in DC if he doesn't settle down and discipline his fast-talking mouth.
