You know we're headed for trouble when business leaders (who received a huge tax break from Donny) are complaining about what may very well be coming down the pike. I saw an interview with a hotel CEO, who was cautiously optimistic
about the economy - his lips were saying 'yes, yes,' but his eyes were saying 'no, no.'

“I think he maybe overestimates the importance of physical barriers,” Senator John Cornyn, R – Texas, said of Trump. “But certainly that is a component of the solution. It’s technology, it’s people and barriers.”
I would add that the most important element, the one that would make all other elements unnecessary, is arresting Texans who hire illegal aliens, but the GOP, which in my experience has many Texas voters that do hire illegal aliens and yet lie that they don’t, does not want to arrest Texans by the thousands and keep them in jail until a trial as they would do with illegal aliens. Trump already has all the laws he needs to arrest those Texans, but does not. He would need no new authorization from Congress to crackdown on Texas Republicans hiring illegal aliens.
There’s growing frustration in Congress because no one knows what Trump wants.
The government shut down in the first place because Trump changed his mind. In December, the Senate, with bipartisan support, passed a spending bill that funded the government, without a border wall. Senators did so because they thought Trump would sign it — and then he said he wouldn’t.
The White House has since rejected every bipartisan deal on immigration. Trump administration officials have called for wall, but changed the definition of a wall at every turn, from steel barriers, concrete slabs, to bollards. White House officials can’t define what a “wall” is. It’s not even clear where Trump wants the “wall” to be built.
