Overall, the President (whoever he or she is) needs to cleanly identify what our long-term interests are, as he or she perceives them, and to explain them plainly to us and to the world.
Our foreign relations (and public relations) problem is that the USA does not offer a coherent narrative. We say that we're for democracy, but we deliver something entirely different. We say that we want to decrease corruption, and yet we can't seem to become less of an oligarchy ourselves. The advantage that the jihadists have is that their narrative is -so far- coherent. Their actions and their words are consistent. If we're going to win the PR war we have to do the same.

Prior to that, he got a lot of flak - including from YOU, right here on this board - for unilaterally ordering military action (air strikes) against Libya.
So quit whining about what HE is doing, and start talking to your idiots in Congress.
It's called "checks and balances"; you really should read the Constitution some day.
Also, bear in mind that the last time anybody listened to the GOP and you neocons, it only cost us 4000-plus American lives and well over a trillion dollars and counting.
