Some people are too stupid to understand that only the President can order military action.

And some - all of them conservatives, it seems - are too stupid to understand that only Congress can declare war.

Biden said send them to hell. You can't deal with it, so you retreat to your ' blame W ' mantra as you suck your thumb as you curl up in the fetal position.

I'm lying? George never got the PDBs?

Biden said send them to hell. So is that YOUR plan for dealing with them? If so, you'll have to admit that the administration (Biden is part of the administration, right?) has at least as good a plan as you do.

As for being curled up in the fetal position, I'm not the one panicking over rumors of some allegedly missing airliners that pose zero threat to the U.S. That would be you, for the record.

As for the "blame W" bit - who was it who invaded Iraq in the first place and gave ISIS a perfect place to gain power, wealth, and territory? Did "W" *NOT* put that into effect?

You keep trying to shift to argument because you know you're wrong.

You mean... "Despite having created, armed, and funded ISIS for over a year now

I heard an interview a week ago with an Iraqi who said that, when he listened to various ISIS tapes, even those made in Iraq, there was hardly an Iraqi accent among them. What he detected, more than anything, was a Tunisian accent. I have to say, I was a bit skeptical, I thought this guy was blowing smoke, but then I ran across this on Zerohedge ...

Where do ISIS fighters come from?

There are two surprises here...

Jordan is one. Jordan, if you recall, is like an aircraft carrier in the desert. That is where we keep a detachment of Patriot missiles and F-16s, and where we were training anti-Syrian "moderates" (at least some of whom were ISIS).

Jordanian radicalism didn't appear on the radar. However, I did find this...

Jordan's King Abdullah "Playing With Fire" (2012)

Quote:

The king, who is already facing widespread criticism for failing to implement real reforms and combat corruption, has begun to flirt with the Salafi [Wahhabi] group in a desperate bid to win its sympathy. By flirting with these fundamentalists, King Abdullah is also hoping to win them to his side in his confrontation with the kingdom's popular and influential Muslim Brotherhood.
This could be why Jordan allowed anti-Syrian Salafis to be trained there.

And what's with Tunisia? Another bolt out of the blue?

Radical Islamists seize control of Tunisia mosques (2011)
Quote:

(Reuters) - Radical Islamists have seized control of 150 to 200 mosques and prayer halls around Tunisia this year, a senior religious official said Wednesday.

Official control over Tunisia's 5,000 mosques and small prayer halls has relaxed since the January revolution that toppled autocratic president Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali, allowing radicals to occupy some of them, Jamel Oueslati told Reuters.

So the Arab Spring went straight from autocracy to jihadism?

The fighters are from various places, the arms and money from Saudi Arabia and Qatar; in their race to control Libya, Egypt, and Syria they competitively flooded the area with dozens of planeloads and boatloads (literally) of arms.

We can fight ISIS in Syria and Iraq (Although I'm not sure our government wants to; it may still see some utility in these jihadists) but there is clearly a massive movement going on, and jihadists will keep turning up from the unlikeliest of places. Unless we want to keep playing whack-a-mole, we have to figure how to stop radicalism in the first place.

What have I shifted?

I've asked - more than once, in fact - for your big plan to deal with ISIS. I've asked for details, specifics, and you've given nothing. Zilch. The closest you've come to a plan is to say you agree with Biden.

So either you agree with the admin plan, or you admit you have less than no idea of what to do, which is what you're criticizing others for.

Which is it?

Asking that is a straw man. No one else is President and Commander in Chief. No one else has been getting daily briefings on the Islamic State for over a year. No one else sees the problem with as bi-polar clarity as Obama, who says I.S. will be destroyed, followed by saying how I.S. is a problem to be ' managed '.

I repeat myself, because it's obvious I must.

But, I will add...

Members of Congress, calling for an authorization for use of force. So much for 'no plans, yet'. Unless you're the President.

Are you saying that the president should act unilaterally without seeking authorization from Congress?

What happened last time he did such a thing?

What was YOUR response?

I hav a plan.

Airdrop boxez uv old Playboy magazinez over the entire goram rejun. Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Syria... everywhere.

It'l be dam near impossible to recroot young men into a relijun that demandz that wimin must be covered hed to toe wen their hormone controlled brainz hav a clue about wut theyd be missing.

Granted, its mostly a longer term solution than an immediate fix for the ISIS problem, but thats how I think. And even so, a saturation Playboy bombing mission rite on their camps coud possibly upset their unity.

Now see, THAT is actually a plan. Might seem like a Crazy Eddie kind of plan, but that might be exactly what's needed.

I long ago proposed bombing Cuba with Care Packages full of Twinkies, Coca-Cola, McNuggets, and more junk food, with notes explaining that this is what we call "JUNK" food - the kind of crap we throw down our gullets when we don't have time to eat anything good.

And then just sit back and watch the walls crumble as they realize what they're missing.

Bombing them with bombs is exactly what HASN'T worked, ever, in the Middle East, Afghanistan, or Iraq. We already know what won't work; let's try something different for once.
