I coudnt make it past 15 minits for napolean dynamite.
A few more seriously louzy moviez: Johny Mnemonic, Saturn 3, Hardware, The Generals Daughter, Top Gun.
I haven't seen most uv the epic flops, such az Ishtar and Heaven's Gate.
My personal choice for wrst ever iz Akira. Its like sum idiot trust fund punk met sumbody who wuz developing a new animation teknique, got excited about it and sed 'just start making kool scenes! we'll figure out a story az we go along!" so it dragz along for about 9 hourz. They get to a point where they cant even finish a sentence! I sat thru the whole thing just to feel like I beat it insted uv it wearing me down. Even so, I coudnt help contemplate my limited lifespan and wut percentage wuz just stolen frum me.

There's a lot that can go into making a really bad movie.
Ridiculous plot, bad acting, pathetic writing, cheesy sets and wardrobe... so it's tough to sort out from all the suckiness in movies I've seen to find which is the WORST.
I mean, some movies TRY to be bad, to inflate their camp value, so I hesitate to add those to the list of other movies which were being SERIOUS in their effort.
Clearly , Howard the Duck is horrific.
Halloween 3, made NO sense, what so ever. 'Michael' played no part in it, as I recall, and the story was about some evil scientist ?
Strange Brew - Now, I LOVED the McKenzie brothers, Bob and Doug, but man... what a horrific movie. And even as bad as it was, there were moments which were kinda funny. Well, funnier to the younger version of myself than they are today.
OK, I'm stuck in the 80's. I'm gonna need to think about this and get back to the thread.

True that - but it did have one redeeming quality.
An exquisite soundtrack that due to licensing issues has been nigh unto impossible to find - and get this, for reasons inexplicable to me at one time they cranked out a cleaned up Blu-Ray version of it, which I got from the bargain bin of a third line reseller for about six bucks, JUST so I could cadge a high quality version of the soundtrack.
Cause, well, ain't this one of the coolest songs EVER ?

The song's okay, but that's from the Rankin/Bass TV movie version of "Return of the King," not Bakshi's theatrical Lord of the Rings.

Generally not a fan of Rankin Bass animation. But Bakshi's version of LOTR... man, that was a weird combo of animation and real life overlayed w/ more animation. I guess it worked, here and there, but over all... bleh.

I agree with Chrisisall that 'Zardoz' is a masterpeice. It just needs a couple of viewings to be fully appreciated. Charlotte Rampling was so damn intense in it that most else doesn't really matter anyhow.
I usually like even bad movies the second time I see them. I've recently seen on HBO 'Another Earth', 'In Time', and 'Cowboys and Aliens'. Couldn't stand any of them at first, but have since found them to be not bad in their own ways. Next time they're on I'll probably love 'em.

Quest for Fire. 1982
For about 5 years after I saw it, "Quest for Fire" was the movie I
loved to hate. Urbanites would often gush, "O! It was so great! So
authentic!" Maybe that was the thing I hated about it. My subtitle
for it was, "The Three Stooges Looking for a Zippo."
Now I read that it was a comedy, intended as a comedy! That's prolly
true, and so, it becomes a comedy I love to hate.
