I'm a Christian, Irish enthusiast, trad singer, browncoat living in OR USA. I'm in my local Browncoat group here and enjoy meeting fellow Browncoats from all over Earth that ... still is. I'm a well known reviewer of Firefly stories on fanfiction . net, where I go by the same name.
I only read and review stories where River is still touched in the wits because "A completely coherant River means writers don't deliver" KatTaya. I don't believe that the revelation of a secret you didn't know you had would fix a brain that has been altered so much, so I don't read River-is-normal-after-the-film stories. There are plenty of stories out there with regular psychic assassins in them, but how many touched psychic assassins do you know?
I am one of those people who loves the show and dislikes the BDM. But of course I do read post BDM fics if I think they are good. I read and review on Wed. each week over there, I don't have the time to do so here as well so I'm mainly here for the discussion boards. I always enjoy talking to new folk so don't hesitate to send me a message and we can converse.
My professional interests and experience are in the areas of mental health and developmental differences. My goal someday is to own an establishment (group home) for people with certain types of mental health differences and people with certain types of high functioning developmental differences, who need good looking after,aka touched folk, and I'm going to name it after our River.
I'm a trad singer, meaning I sing Irish songs and the like. I like scifi/fantasy movies, playing freeform pretends and going to the Rennaissance faires in costume etc. I also like camping, the ocean, playing in the water, history, r socializing and a bucket load of other things.

I'm known for my reading and reviewing of Firefly fanfic over at fanfiction.net, I only have time to read once a week now and sadly I only have time to read authors and stories that I already follow. If you'd like me to read and review yours and its posted over there just let me know and I'll make it happen. Be warned though that I only read stories where River is still touched in the wits. "A completely coherant River means writers don't deliver" KatTaya, so if your River is too stable or, even worst, miraculously cured, then I'm not reading. I don't think the revelation of a secret you didn't know you had would fix a brain that has been cut into and altered like that. Plus River turns into a Mary Sue if she's not touched anymore because she can do everyone else's job since she's so brilliant and talented.
I'm very family oriented, my family and friends are very important to me. I love intensely.
