Hmm, I guess I thought stylistic suck was more just doing intentionally something bad for the laughs, not that it absolutely had to be a show within a show. But I guess the tvtropes page does say otherwise.

Kafka Comedy was the closest approximation I could find to the fail, but maybe what I'm really looking for is The Comically Serious, or So Unfunny It's Funny.

Anyway, who knows. It's one of those movies that appeals to some people but not others. I still postulate that that growing up in Backwardsville USA has a large impact on whether someone will like it or not.Also possibility familiarity with Mormon culture, which contributes to backwardness.

#3 I'm not going to try to convince anyone else of how bad I thought it was, because I know some people liked it, but The Tale of Desperaux. It made me want to commit suicide. IT is the movie that shall not be named in this house. Condescending narration, depressing, painfully slow- I have never before went to a kid's movie looking for a nice time and came away worse than I went in. Sometimes I see a figurine or a book of the movie at a flea market, and it damn near sends me into epileptic fits...

Just one of those things that struck a bad personal chord with us...

I saw Highlander the Source on TV when it premiered on syfy, because I really enjoy Highlander stuff so I was excited, quite disappointing. Never saw Despero, it looked vaguely cute in the previews but my little brother doesn't really like movies that much, getting him to sit through one is a challenge, so there are lots of kids movies that you'd think I would have seen because of his presence in my life but I haven't.

Okay, so my dad saved Galexy of the Dinosaurs for me to watch this weekend. And I loved watching it, so I can't call it the worst movie I've ever seen because it was way too much fun. I love movies that look like someone made them in their back yard. And the Planet of the Apes reference made me happy and it was funny.

Wait, wait. I know which is the worst movie I've ever seen. "Uncle Eddie's Island Adventure."

Don't look it up. Just don't. On a scale from -5 to +5, where the higher it goes it's entertaining for the right reasons, and the lower it goes it's entertaining for the wrong reasons, that one is a perfect zero of not entertaining at all.

I read badfic for fun. I've seen The Star Wars Holiday Special and thought it was weird and awkward but watchable. But I couldn't take more than ten minutes of this made for TV garbage fest.

Mostly when I see an awful movie, I quickly forget it.
Problem there is I may try to watch it again in a couple of years.

Seriously, watching a bunch of vapid, shallow, clueless little cretins whom I thorougly despised from the moment of their introduction run around like headless chickens for some contrived reason in a city being supposedly wrecked by an unseen monster who at no time ever seems to present a credible threat to anyone with half a lick of sense... and being forced to watch this abominable offense against nature via some halfassed shaky-cam supposed to imitate the effects of a cheap handheld and failing badly ?

It was an endless, bottomless abyss of suck so vile it drained the life from the whole monster movie genre for ages to come, and made the slimy drivel which pours sideways from the corroded mush between Uwe Bolls ears look like masterpiece theatre by comparison.
