Plus any threads would be temporary, they'd be like novel tie-ins to a series. The series is still going on, but occasionally you'd have an individual story

I think you misunderstand me. The beauty of Sereni-Tree to me is that there are several storylines going at the same time all in one place, and you have the opportunity to choose whether you'd like to be involved or not. But if we seperate every single adventure, it makes it much more difficult for someone to subtly influence or help out in a storyline because they have to make the effort to find the other thread, read all the posts there, and join up. I welcome the chance to be able to fight and read about others' backstories, but what I'm saying is if each fight and backstory had to be on a different thread, this would get way too complex and I wouldn't want to read each seperate thread. Sererate threads make it harder for all our stories to intertwine, which I find to be quite interesting and entertaining when it happens like it used to.
But if that's what you all want, go right ahread. I've only been on the Tree for 10 or 12 threads now, so perhaps I'm too new to know any better. All I know is, in my opinion seperate threads mean more hassles and less community than what we already have.
Also, JADE! How does it look? Cheesy? Nice? I'm so excited!

See the way I figured it was a certain peril would be set up in Sereni-Tree folder, and then those that wanted to be invoved in it would go off to a spin-off thread to deal with it, then come back to SereniTree when it was handled. But I suppose it isnt as simple as that.
And you - a newby after 10-12 threads? I hang my head in shame. I've probably been here for 5

OOC: As a new poster I really can only comment on what I know there are people who have been here longer than me. And this is my opinions and thoughts on the current situation.
I love the serenitree. Yes the last few posts have been confusing and full of angst, and I have lost track of my two small characters more than once during this thread, but that doesn't stop me from posting when I can, and enjoying the communal fanfic writing we are accomplishing.
I don't know if I can write pure sillyness, or pure angst for long periods of time. My writing style is somewhere in between. Shadow and Ghost as characters have backgrounds that are not all sunshine and puppies and flowers, there will be angst when I write them just because of their backgrounds. But then again their backgrounds are not a main plotline. I'm not saying some lighthearted fun is necessarily bad. In fact it would be fun to give Shadow and Ghost a chance to be kids, but then again even given the chance Shadow will resist it and act like a little grownup. Ghost too to an extent.
I agree with TRM's idea. I think we should quickly wrap up the garrison plotline and take a breath, have some sillyness (with character angst, but that is unavoidable with realistic characters).
Now saying that I think I'll wait to introduce Shadow and Ghost's brother. Safe and I had been working to introduce him on garrison, however I can introduce him somehow later.
and I just realized how long, babblative, disjointed and self focused this post is.
School kept me very busy this semester, These threads, and the chat were some of the things that kept me sane. It is something fun and it got me back into writing.
I don't know what my characters futures will be after the crisis is over.
I hope it is resolved because I will miss the tree if it fades all together (or splinters so badly that it for all purposes is not the tree anymore). And I believe the community on this site would be damaged as well.
One of the best things about this community is the friendships and comraderie that we develop and the atmosphere.
Ok that's my 2 cents, my opinion, and my thoughts.

OOC: well, I wasn't really suggesting a musical, nobody wants me to sing. My thought was simply, the shift to silly is a dramatic change from where we were. Some of us are going with it. Some aren't. I simply meant, like in that episode, something else might be the cause of our whimsy. Maybe the serious minded folk can find the cause and 'rescue us from our fun.' But please, don't solve it too quickly. give us a few threads. and when the serious creeps back.. we might be ready. Fewer Apocylpses. Spam guns over nukes. Adventure over more alliance cruisers. I think. this is only my interpretation of the wants of others. I await their input as well.
