Static, there are some others on my Blog in October. They were from halloween, and not my finest, but still, Catholic School girl skirts are fun for the whole family. You Evil lecherous hump (BTW love your blog, so adding it to my list).
I am so glad the faithful have followed us over!
And just to keep with tradition, I will mention WHORE in this post. Cos it seems like what all the cool kids are doing...
BTW: e-Harmony didn't reject me, but it also thought a 45 year old professor was supposed to be my dream man, and I was like 24 and going WHA? It seems like a total scam. They only matched me with 1 person (of course I didn't give them money) in 2 years, so I think I am really fucked up, not enough to be rejected, but enough to never be matched. I love that everyone seems to have tried this though.

It's the Society of Creative Anachronism. At their large "wars" (multiday camp out events) I can meet more cool people in one weekend than I will in months in the normal world. For reasons I can't fully explain people are just at their best there.
It's not for everyone. You have to be willing to camp, and wear a costume, but it's so worth it! it's the greatest undiscovered party in the world.
I could ramble on for quite awhile. It would be better if you were to ask me questions.

Yeah I used to be a member, lost touch with that though, still have some cool stuff. Really should get back in. It's where I met someone special once. Thanks for the new thread BEG. Absolutely nothing new to add. I think for the moment I'm going to be in the "I give up" mode and let the boys come to me. Sounds like a whole lot less work.

I don't have much else to add, either.
Though I did try e-Harmony and I regret it.
I must have gone through hundreds of men (and dollars), finally whittled it down to one guy that I thought was absolutely fantastic. After months of emailing and talking on the phone, we met, had a amazing date (he even brought me a dozen roses) and then he NEVER CALLED ME AGAIN.
The biggest waste of time and money. Plus it REALLY REALLY hurt.

Oh, and EST-I knew it!
You know, the books are really quite good. Jane Austen was a fantastic writer. Her books are more about class and the roles of women in society and how the political climate affected daily life than romantic novels.
Also, if you enjoy that kind of writing, Patrick O'Brian is a modern author (he just died recently) who writes in an very Austenian style. But his stories are about men at sea during the Neopolianic wars. VERY entertaining.

New thread, but so many fun postings from last night to reply to ...
XG - I'm not blonde, I'm actually very bad at the cello but I love it so (the kazoo might help drown out the sqeaks), and I must admit it took oh, possibly a full minute to figure out what the heck you were talking about with "Tarzan in Texas" (had to giggle when I got it though!)
My toenail painting thought came from this: in my one good long term relationship, we vacationed in Jamaica and did things like sit on the beach drinking rum and playing with nail polish. I don't think all men would be open to this and I just find that perplexing. It was hella sexy.
Citizen - not out of anyone's league! I have to introduce myself to y'all with the good stuff, but I got demons a'plenty like anyone else! 
Recently a friend was recommending match.com to me, but that just seems bad. It's interesting to hear how you odd-like-me-poeple (I mean that lovingly 
) have done with e-harmony. I'm with Mai - the give up and wait approach is the way to go.
Someday when I'm emotionally ready, I'll start my own thread about Jane Austen. The P&P reference got a lot of response!

if you enjoy O'Brian's writing about the navy during the Napoleonic wars then you might try Bernard Cornwell's novels of Richard Sharpe. Mr Sharpe Fought in the army of that time though I can't imagine him courting the younger Bennet sisters.

SR-I've heard good things about Cornwell. I may have to look into him.
I've also been meaning for years and years to read the Horatio Hornblower series.
Oh, and it's strange you mentioned the SCA. It keeps popping up and I always think "hmm..that sounds interesting." and I file it in the back of my head for later. Maybe now IS later!
