Oh this is just my luck . . .

I spent an hour (which I should have used studying for my finals) writing a letter to Universal for Serenity Day. And I thought I did a real shiny job on it. So, try to find it tonight and what do I find? I've lost it. Damn my un-orginization. And my lack of knowledge in spelling. A few days later . . .: Shiny!! I found it!

Well, I am close to getting my degree. Only 6 more months 'til I can join you guys in the black and help teach the kiddos on the outer rings. Haha! And the alliance thinks that I am going to pay these "loans" back, whatever.

I have not seen that many old faces, as in those who were here before the premier of "Serenity", on lately. If any of them do still frequent this fine site, I was wondering if they remember what the blogging was like before the movie. I don't know if it is a new era of openness, but I don't recall the blogs ever being this personal before. I'm not saying anything is wrong with it, just a mere remark at how things are now and then. And I never did welcome any new faces, so, welcome to FireflyFans.net. -Icarus

No chance for romance
Tuesday, 06 June 2006 00:50:16

At the moment there is no chances for me to get into a relationship. Its been roughly 16months since my last real relationship, wich in my world is eternity. I live for the rush of love and there is nothing better in the world then to have someone to call your own. Also, its been a year now since I last got some bunk-action. At the moment all that sexual frustration (and the even worse romancefrustration) is making me claw at the walls for something. When I get like this it feels like a part of me is missing and I would do anything to just feel something. Usually stupid things, like smoking (wich I supposedly quit a couple of months back), or buying stuff (im such a shopaholic at times). I feel like im trapped starving in a glastank watching the rest of the world rush by. My romantic "prospects" at the moment look like this: A girl in a relationshop who is desperate to leave her relationship but doesnt want to be single so therefore hits on every guy that comes walking by. I dont know if I really want to be the rebound guy :/ and... There are also some girls who live way way far away in another city in Sweden who I have been LARPing with. They are cute, and nice, and single. And a friends thinkgs I should try to hook up with one of them. But, they live several hours away, they are not interested in me romanticly, and same goes for me. There just nice people. And last, the LARP that we used to go to with them has been discontinued so I will most likely never see them again anyway. And it doesnt help I live in a city were 75% of the people my age are guys and the girls are all either gay or in a relationship already. (only know two single people and thats only because they used to be a couple and just broke up). So, if anyone has any tips, fire away. Im going lie down in bed and watch some Surface untill I fall asleep.

Prayin' to the Muses...
Tuesday, 06 June 2006 04:44:44

ARGH!! I'm trying to write a fic for 'I've Got A Dark Alley and a Bad Idea That Says You Should Shut Your Mouth' and Nothing is coming! I freakin' hate Writer's Block! I'm praying to the muses(read:Joss Whedon and Peter Wentz) to help me get an idea of where to take this. I'm not going to repeat Now I Only Waste It Dreaming Of You... My friend Edge is having writer's block too, except it's with a fic in the FOB Dance, Dance video 'verse...still, writer's block is writer's block.

Hey, anyone know where to get a good pair of 'tightpants'? I been casing out eBay, but cant really seem to find anything good. Guess I would be just picky. Also trying for some nice boots. Seems riding boots are the thing. But not expensive... darn. Also still working on the browncoat. Got some leads... I'm excited. And yes, a big ol' geek. Hey, I got my Wash constume all set. Mal's is getting there and Jayne will be next. Already got the hat and all. Now, where does one get a huge ol' gun?

I have almost got the complete set of 9 serenity covers and am trying to determine what printing each one is (I know they are not all first prints). can anyone tell me how I can tell the print number? there doesn't seem to be any distinguishing marks to my eyes.

So, I have been told that God only gives you that which you can handle - hence the log title today. Update - Because of the DRAMA of HIMSELF and his mid-life crisis, the boys did not do as well as they should in school. #1 needs 1 credit to graduate - so he is taking it now in summer school. We thought he only needed the first session but it seems he needs both -$220.00. Lovely #2 REALLY lost his mind at some point and FAILED 3 of his core classes - he is taking 1 now and will have to take summer school each summer until Senior year until he graduates. He is definately NOT leading the life of Riley at this moment. another $220. I have to find cheap beds as 2 of the 5 kids are still sleeping on the floor. I have now brought another cat into the mix, because borrowed daughter#2 had to bring hers. SO it needs to be declawed and deflea-d $85. Its all just chugging along in my world. Haven't really been in the verse as I really at this point am only functioning. boo hoo boo hoo Pity Pity Pity.

I've been overloading my myspace profile with a ton of videos from youtube.com. I finally gave up and started my own firefly/serenity group aptly titled, "Why yes, I am addicted to firefly."

MOONLIGHT RISING!!!!!!!

So I left straight from work on Friday (after taking several raised eyebrows over why I was putting on a work shirt, a pair of not-too-tight khakis, combat boots, and suspenders), drove through pouring rain, arrived at the Fernwood and promptly found out that 1) registration had closed over an hour earlier and 2) Adam Baldwin had cancelled at the last possible dwindling second due to a family matter. This was a subject of much bitching amongst the event staff for the rest of the weekend. BUT, all was not lost: Nathan Fillion was still in, a bunch of cronies from FFF eventually made themselves and the imminent Shindig known, and with all due immediacy I joined the gathering. We watched a couple of episodes and then 'Serenity' while we hung out, chatted, talked shop, etc. By this time I had already received a half-dozen compliments on my Mal costume and been mistaken for Nathan Fillion by one of the event staff members (albeit she didn't say anything, just stared at me like I had four arms and another half a head). Then Jonathan Woodward showed up. Human speech cannot describe how downright, utterly, intrinsically cool this man is. He is AWESOME. He is down-to-earth, fan-oriented, friendly, wacky, and a super guy. He's also a photographer and wasted no time snapping pictures of us Shindigging. I introduced myself (still in my Mal costume) and he said, "What's up, Captain!" To which I replied, "Okay, you want to tell me why you got yourself all corpsified and mailed to me?" "Still trying to figure that one out. Another thing I can't figure out is why they wouldn't let the guy in on the motherfucking plan!!!" (Well, that kind of would've ruined the deep dark thick layers of meaning at the end, wouldn't it?) So you can imagine how friendly we got as the weekend progressed. What I wouldn't give to see Jonathan again at another con some time. Soooooo...next day, first thing, got registered as soon as the table was open; then, photo shoot with Nathan. Once again I was in costume. Since Adam Baldwin cancelled and Jonathan Woodward stepped in, I got my picture taken with both him and Nathan. When Jonathan introduced us, Nathan shook my hand and exclaimed, "Hey, nice outfit!" Can you say 'mind-blowing'? I am dressed as Mal and the guy who portrayed him has just complimented me on my costume. Yep, I'm still coming off of that one and probably will be for the rest of the year at least. "Damn - thanks very much!" Gotta scan the pic but I'll post it when done. Nathan and Jonathan stole the show for every Q&A session they were in. They are a class act, I tell you, funny as all hell and dead crazy on top of it! In fact, Nathan showed up a little late to the Q&A on Sunday, so instead of going up to the stage, he got in line behind a lady who was asking a question and then he played the part of a nervous fan who was asking a question for the first time and wanted to know what it was like to be on a Joss Whedon TV show. The man is a laugh a millisecond and no mistake. Needless to say, I got his autograph on Saturday (still in costume, of course). In response he wrote upon the photo, "Chris - stay shiny. Keep your pants tight...and ON." [Kaylee]Yes, sir, Cap'n Tightpants![/Kaylee] Got Jonathan's autograph as well. Jonathan, it was teh awesomeness meeting you as well, brotha. I think by the time the weekend was over, four people had mistaken me for Nathan and perhaps a dozen had randomly asked to take a picture of me in costume. I was like, GEEZ, people, it ain't THAT good! I don't even have the coat yet! But the whole weekend was the most brain-warping stupendous time I've had in years, so nary a complaint from this quarter. ;) Now one other thing that must not go without a mention. When I arrived on Friday night, I was informed about the close of registration by a young woman busily clattering on a laptop. Crud. So I sat down and we fell to talking. We chatted for some hours, about Firefly, how we got interested in it, who our favourite characters were, and all that good gou shi. I saw h
