I just saw today that Bono has received an honorary knighthood. I have mountains of admiration for the guy. He’s got guts and a big heart, and he really gives a damn about his fellow man. Congrats! Bono, you are the coolest of them all. But, apparently his younger sons were disappointed, they thought he was being made a jedi knight, and thought he would be bringing home a light sabre! ..hehe...cute! I read this joke a little while back and thought this a good time to share it with y’all (there are a few different versions of it - I like this one): Eric Clapton dies and goes to heaven. St Peter is showing him around...."There's Jimi, John Lennon over there........there's Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison......there's Bono...." "Wait a second"....Clapton says..."Bono's not dead!" "Ssshhhhhh" says St Peter...."that's God. He just likes to pretend he's Bono.

I'm socially retarded. I don't know how to deal with other people. Put me in a room with people I don't know and I turn into the quiet little thing in the corner who watches and listens to everything, but doesn't quite join in. My closest (and pretty much only) friends say that I close myself off from other people, that it's like there's a wall around me until I become comfortable enough to show my true self. But I don't know that I'm doing it, I don't know how to stop, so I end up lonely. It's close to the end of my second year of college, and I still have no friends here. Sure, I have aquaintances that I talk to when I see them, but nobody to truly hang out with and go have fun. Because of that, my birthday last year was spent alone, the only celebratory part being the cake I baked and deocorated myself, yet had nobody to share it with. But this year is different. I went downstairs this morning and one of my roommates had written "Happy 21st Birthday (insert my name here)" on our message board in the kitchen. It's a little thing, but I don't feel alone because she cared enough to do that. My birthday is special again, in a way that it hasn't been in a while.

OK so I just got the biggest kick out of this...... I was talking with my oldest Nephew a few weeks ago about getting out and doing something. I asked him if he still liked golf and he told me yes. So I told him that when I was in school there was a Golf Team in High School and maybe he should look into that. Yesterday he came home from school just a chattering away to Laurelin about how they had a meeting during his Resource Class (Study Hall) for the Golf Team. he said that he and a couple of friends decided that it sounded interesting so they went. He said it sounded cool and that they held try-outs in Aug for the next season. he told Laurelin that he wanted to try-out. the kicker is that he is a Goth. Hehehehe the Golfing Goth is born! Man I can't wait to see the look the Coach has when he shows up for try-outs! Hehehehehe (I am evil)! Yes I am sure that they have a uniform and all that good stuff but it is still so cool! Not to mention now I have a reason to Golf anytime I want this summer and can just say that the Nephew needs to get ready for try-outs! HOODY-HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes I really hate being me. I feel that I am all alone in the universe. There are those who deviate from the norm to me noticed by the norm, and there are those, such as myself who are so far removed from the norm, or perhaps even humanity, that we are invisible. I have friends. Good friends. But I am alone. Its difficult to explain how I feel, or relate to you how this is, or has come about. When I finally write a song that I know that is from my heart, and my friends just stare at me wondering what the heck it is supposed to mean, or asking my why my music sound so 'depressing'... it hurts. So it is with everything that I slave to create. everything I try to say some how gets warped in the air, and the intent if it becomes mutilated and awkward. I am not lonely. I am alone. Among my friends, among the crowd. There are very few people who have understood me in my lifetime. who think like I do. One of them, she is engaged to be married in September, and needless to say, we dont really have all that much time to hang out, or even converse. The other was a highschool friend. Unfortunately we have been out of contact since then. I keepthinging of Joss' comentary for Objects in Space. How he said River was alone, among the crew. And that is very much me. Perhaps the reson I love the character so much. Perhaps why I love Joss' work so much, becaue it is a reacuring theme among his characters. I honestly dont know why I am writing ths. I suppose somthing to get off my chest. I dont know... Perhaps I just want someone to talk to and actually have a converstion with. Someone who can sympathize with me, and me with them. I dont know. I done ranting now.
