STINKINGROSE

I think I need to take a little break. I'm sick, and I tend to stay up late scribbling (you get in the zone and want to get that idea down and three hours have passed). I'm also anxiously awaiting my visual companion, etc. I really want to get a better feel for the background and see if I can figure out where Papa Joss & Co. might have been headed with the characters. Having a reference so I don't have to keep vaguely waving and saying "a moon over there-ish" would be nice. Need to think a little about where I'm headed before I paint myself into a corner. I think I'm writing the crew in a much needed (relatively) happy place before making it get really ugly on them. I'm not sure yet. I don't want Jazmine to be the answer to all their problems and just throw money at it. I actually did think about killing her off (for about a minute and a half). Not quite ready to let her go yet. She may end up spending some time off ship holding down the fort when it gets really hairy. Like I said, not quite sure where I'm going with the long term plot arc. I'm thinking of trying straight prose instead of script format. You can get so much more of a character's thought process and plot/subplot in when you don't have to rely on getting them to say it effectively. You can get a lot more description in too. Any advice or suggestions?

The movers come in two days and I still have so much to do. im just afraid that I might forget something. maybe im also bummed that i'll spend my 25th birthday in the middle of nowhere in the Yukon Territory. I wish I could fast forward a few weeks and be closer to my destination. im just sad overall. im losing the only house I ever loved, too bad I cant take it with me like...maybe a spaceship that resembles a Firefly. i just have to keep saying to myself... "it could be worse."

And this time, I am crossing over to, well... okay, when I write things its always the dark side, so that little star war analogy doesn't work. It's not an M/I fic, it's an S/K fic. I'm a whole 1,000 words in. I don't intend for it to be nearly as long as "Over the Hills" was (never again, ah...). Right now, I'm thinking it will be in the area of 10,000 - 15,000 words. The plot? We'll you'll see if I ever finish it/post it. It's set roughly four years after the BDM. Also, it may involve space spawn. But with angst. So, if you don't like space spawn, er... spend this month getting really comfy with the idea of liking them? Or ignore the fic, whichever. Also, if anyone is interested in betaing it, you know, in a month or so when I hope its done, please let me know. Peace!

OK, it's the first day of Ramadhan (the Fast in Islam) and my brain is not firing on all cyclinders due to the usual 1st-day hunger pangs etc., and there I am decked in my Browncoat perusing monoculars at the Gadget stand in building 9, when I hear this tune being whistled in my vicinity... I'm thinking: "Damn, that tune is familiar. What IS that?" The Sunday afternoon crowds are bustling and and I'm intent on getting back to the booth (#9130) where I'm on duty dispensing info on Islam... So I get back to the booth and it hits me -- that was the BDM theme I was hearing all right! Gorramnit, I am indeed brain-dead and did not realize it in time to acknowledge the person doing the whistling. So here 'tis. Yes, I did hear you. My apologies for spacing out on you, whoever you are. If you come back to the Fair (in Pomona) please stop by the Islam booth and say "Howdy" or maybe "Say... your coat is a kinduva BROWNISH color" and I promise I won't space out on you again. [sigh] Here I am advertising the 'Verse in my shiny browncoat and don't even notice when a fellow Browncoat gives me the secret audio "wassup?"... But at least you tried. Hi there. I'm terrible at writing blogs, they never come out as interesting as I would like them to. I never even know what to write about most of the time. So my parents are in Portugal this week. That means I get to boss my brother around and basically be in charge of everything. The power may just go to my head. I also start back at uni this week. I'm going into my final year :(. I can;t believe it, I'm actually going to have to get a proper job after this year. Not something I'm looking forward to. And my loan hasn't gone in yet! The stupid letter the SLC sent me told me it was going in on the 25th September. Well it is the 25th September and I still haven't got it. Could be worse, they could've cocked it up like they did with my friend's. On a happy note, i was channel-hopping last night and i discovered Sci-Fi are showing Firefly. Yes, I may have seen every episode more times than i care to remember but that doesn't mean I can't watch it again. Happy birthday to my cousin, David, who is 9 today and get well soon to my grandma. Anyway TTFN, maybe next time i'll have something more interesting to write. Hope I didn't bore you too much. Jennifer -x-

The klutz that I am has been at it again. At forty-something you'd think I'd remember [b]before[/b] closing the sliding door, to to make sure that [u]all[/u] parts of my body are on the same side of the door jam, wouldn't you? Nope. Caught my thumb in the door yesterday right at the base joint. The good news is, the joint does work. The bad is the thumb keeps swelling and going numb. :crap: And what am I doing? I'm opting to err on the side of embarassed stupidity and will wait a few days to see if it improves before involving my doctor. I know that contusions do swell for a few days after, so I'm trying not to rack up any expenses unnecessarily. And, it isn't showing any bruising, so yea that. I'm also experienced with broken digits, as those are the only breaks I've experienced...all on the same (dominant) hand. So, the upshot is, I'll be she of little words and many emoticons for a bit while I try to rest it a bit.

JOSSISAGOD

This time they have someone to pick me up, but apparently the guy drives like a Bat out of The Hot Place! So, my question is this: I've got a test in my Color Theory class on Wednesday of this week do I: A) Risk my life with a driver everyone else says I shouldn't trust, just so I can take a test. OR B) Stay home Wednesday, study some more, and take the test on Monday of NEXT week, when my regular driver is back.
