Okay, I'm going to recheck my timeline for internal consistencies and then I'm really really going to start scribbling again. I've got a file with several false starts.. I mean plot and dialogue concepts.. hrm hrm..., and I'm feeling guilty over leaving them to collect dust for so long. Other than that life continues apace. I've gotten my 9 year old excited about seeing Shakespeare plays outdoors, and if that doesn't count for good karma I don't know what does. They still haven't gotten rid of people we'd all prefer not to work with, nor have they gotten a backup RN in case I have a nervous breakdown and end up in jail for inflicting grievous bodily injury to people I do not enjoy working with at all. Meh. I'm going to pout over missing everyone at D*Con this year, but I promised to spend time with my son at an event I'm helping with that weekend, and I spent a whole week all by myself at Pennsic this year so I really can't complain. Sucks to miss out on people coming in from out of the country, far away parts of this country, and of course the wedding, and two of my favorite BDHs, and.. Yeah. But I still can't really justify whingeing. Not that I'd let that stop me, mind.

Browncoats Are Everywhere!

I was on my annual shopping weekend with my mom and my oldest this weekend. I stopped in a book store and couldn't find what I was looking for, so I decided to ask if they had it. I got to the desk and asked if they had a copy of the visual companion for Serenity. I got the weirdest response from the two college-age looking girls working the desk... (they said in unison with a dreamy eyed look on their faces) "I LOVE that movie!"

For all you con-goers...

I remembered a little travel tip today that many of you will need to know while going to the cons. This tip works especially well on getting wrinkles out of cotton materials: Take an empty spray bottle with you. (You can usually find them in pharmacy sections of department stores with those bins of little travel bottles.) Fill it with water when needed, and make sure it's set on "spray" and not "stream". When you unpack something that is wrinkly, LIGHTLY spray the clothing then smooth the wrinkles out. It should be unwrinkled and dry within a minute. Some heavier wrinkles may need a second try. If the material is other than cotton, like silks, be careful with it. I'm not saying this works 100% of the time, but it always works well with me on my jeans and t-shirts. Have fun at Dragon*Con and all upcoming conventions or travels!

Well, it's got going. Third chapter coming up now. And I can feel the shape of things, how they're likely to turn out. But as usual, stuff can change as I go along. But the main reason I am writing this is to say that it will probably take longer to get each chapter out. I've had such wonderful responses to the first two chapters that I want to live up to your comments, and that might mean taking longer than usual just to make sure. And I have found myself writing a small fanfic for CHUCK, too, but only because of Adam Baldwin. Life sure is weird, don't you think?

The downers known as my fics...

To those of you still reading my peppy little fic series, I thank you for sticking with it. As far as the sad, reflective fics, the end is near! Black Days is the last fic arc thingy that delves wholly into the character's post BDM thoughts. After this, there will be actual plots and adventures. Honest.
