I was on my annual shopping weekend with my mom and my oldest this weekend. I stopped in a book store and couldn't find what I was looking for, so I decided to ask if they had it. I got to the desk and asked if they had a copy of the visual companion for Serenity. I got the weirdest response from the two college-age looking girls working the desk...

(they said in unison with a dreamy eyed look on their faces)

"I LOVE that movie!"

I am just a thirty-something gal from a small town in Ohio. Only one traffic light with the highlights being a bank, a farm market, a gas station, a drug store and a Papa John's. We are so dull that our town, the town east of us and the town south of us are even dry (means no alcohol served - which was really interesting when we had a mexican restaurant move into the one town - think about it... no margaritas). Luckily, civilization is not more than 20 minutes away.

Just so you know, my alias is in honor of the abbeys that are mentioned in Firefly: Southdown Abbey and Bathgate Abbey.

In the past, I always thought about writing something, but never got a chance to investigate it further (I can be a procrastinator at times). I started writing here and it is just a joy. Never expected anyone to read, let alone like, any of my stuff. The reviews that you receive give you a distinct warm and fuzzy feeling. Prompts me to keep writing. Wish me luck in keeping it up!
