The tag log has got me all worked up about the yumminess of men. I blame ManWithPez for starting the neck/nape drooling action. I can't be held responsible when folks start talking about edible, delectable, yummy necks. I can't. So here I sit, trying not to think of the neck leading to the shoulder leading to the chest...and so on... I'll just keep eating my butter and drinking my black cherry soda. Not quite as yummers as a tasty man, but awfully close.

I’ve been hearing a lot lately about the therapeutic effect of owning or caring for animals (e.g. lowering blood pressure). So, in a vain attempt to keep us all as fit and healthy as we can be, I am hereby instituting a virtual petting zoo. There will be a selection of animals here every week for you to pet and cuddle and call your own. Take some time out of your busy day to lower that blood pressure and stroke something furry… (Ahem!) This week’s offerings are as follows: 1. Angora Rabbit This fluffy little critter is the ideal petting animal for those of you who like your pets so cute it hurts and with a limited ability to draw blood. Feel his woolly little ears and laugh affectionately at his winsome wrinkled nose. Go on! You know you wanna! This bunny is a petting MUST for everyone who isn’t an ex-daemon with a rabbit aversion. Be careful though – If you’re allergic to wool chances are you’ll be allergic to this wee man’s fur – so go for the surgical gloves, if that’s the case (blue for preference – you’ll find some hanging on the door of his hutch – right there, behind you). An added bonus, once you’ve all done with the stroking, we’ll shave him and make a jumper… 2. Ahuizotl This less than fluffy enormous critter hails from Central America. Its half man, half monkey (surely, that’s Jayne?), so I recommend petting the monkey half. Legend tells, however, that this fella has a hand on the end of its tail, so feel free to shake that or just hold it (if you’re into that kinda sappy thing). The Ahuizotl is very rare, so we’re very lucky to have it in week 1 of the petting zoo!! Make the most of it. A single caveat, while petting animals can relax you, this one has a fondness for human flesh, so count your fingers before you leave the zoo. Disclaimer: When entering the petting zoo the level of your blood pressure may go up as well as down.

Got my new TV Armoire in the mail yesterday...and guess what...My gargantuan TV doesn't fit in it. Not even close. So, I yanked the top of it off and put the gorram TV up on it anyways...It was so disappointing. But, after we got it all set up, it was kind of a beautiful thing to see. I know being so happy about a TV is a crappy thing to be, but I am, and I love that TV. Last night, we watched Out of Gas. Oh MAN! Watching it on a bigger TV with the full surround on was so great! So, I'm happy with the TV, even if I'm probably stuck with one huge carpet weight, otherwise known as My ARMOIRE!!! Damn the french and their attractive furniture! Damn THEM!

As you may have gathered from the title, I am, to say the least, extremely cynical when it comes to elections. And this year is the first General Election that I am legally able to cast my vote as to who should be in power. So -- who should I pick? Veritas and UKIP are extremist nutters, Blair will do God alone knows what, the Tories seem to be putting their whole election campaign on smearing the opposition (acting like true politicians...), while the chances of the Lib Dems winning (who seem relatively sane) are so small, we almost need a telescope to see it. And the other parties have no chance in hell. Well, sorry to have a bit of a rant. I hate politics, but I've gotta do something, otherwise nothing will ever change... Oh, well. What does each party [i][b]say[/i][/b] they're gonna do if they get elected...?

Yeah, what the title says. I've been seeing everyone else gatting the nice shiny blogs, so I figured, what the heck. There's not much there now, but I HAVE A BLOG! I don't know, that just sounds cool to me. Check it out:

Some of you know that the women in my family have faced many trials including breast, ovarian, and cervical cancer. So far, they have survived and fought to educate other women about the possibility, discovery, and treatment of cancer. One of my aunts, my hero, a woman I spent a lot of time with during my childhood, has had a particularly trying year. Doctors were worried the cancer had returned. She had a biopsy last December. Now she faces another hurdle, renal failure. Doctors are scrambling to find the cause of the kidney failure and she is waiting for their words of wisdom and course of action. She’s had so much poison pumped into her body over the years, that her kidneys were not looking pretty before this. We hope to stave off dialysis as long as possible; we don’t want her body to depend on the machine. There is a possible cause…I pray to God it is not it. It is one of my nightmares. I’d hate for someone to live the reality of my dreams. In addition, her son has recently enlisted in the corps. I’m not sure when he leaves for basic, but I do know he has requested an infantry assignment. As you can imagine, her brain and heart are on overload right now. Her body is rebelling against her and her only child is leaving home. He is a good kid, a bit too much like some of us for his own good (hehe), but he’s intelligent and fit and has a huge heart. Keep them both on your prayer list. My candles are lit and my rosary ring is well worn.

By the time [i]Serenity[/i] comes out, I'll be speaking Chinese. Or at least learning how to. Got a shiny e-mail today telling me that I'm allowed to take the intro Chinese course in the fall. Apparently I'm stupid enough that they let me in. :wink: Actually, I had to fill out a form and it was up to the department people to decide if I had an inadequate knowledge of Chinese or too much. Of course I didn't mention all the swearing I learned from [i]Firefly[/i], but I don't think it counts. I think taking Chinese will be a lot more interesting than learning French. As helpful as knowing French is in Canada, Chinese is just something completely different. And besides, I suck at French. Learning Chinese gives me the chance to suck at a completely new language. :biggrin: I doubt I'll know enough when I go see [i]Serenity[/i], but it's fun to hope that by seeing the movie it'll help me learn.
