Ok, I'm back home and working on new fanart. I'm thinking a Kaylee or Zoe collage for my next post. What do y'all think? I also have to say that I've realized just how completely obbsessed I am with FF. Ya see, I was at a friends house and they brought out a mug for tea. It had some writing on it. What I saw: Two by two, hands of blue. What it really said: Five foot two, eyes of blue. They're some kind of old song lyrics but all I saw was creepy guys in blue gloves. This just proves that there is no hope for me, I am completely lost.

Yep! That's right, I finally did it. Finally invented a game like no other in the 'Verse. GORRAM REAVERS! is the one game, where you are the Reavers! :pissed: You get to travel the border and rim worlds collecting victims while avoiding the Alliance, and more importantly, avoiding SERENITY! There's even a 90-pound girl who will show up and pulverize your raiding party unexpectedly! The game is also different everytime you play. Setup is completely random, so the board is never the same, and things change as you play the game! Population moves from one moon to another, through salvaging a Reaver ship can gain a larger Pack capacity, and an entire planet can even become a Blackrock and destroy all that lovely food potential! Additionally, to add a little lightheartedness, I went the route of making Reaver Packs using the SouthPark Studios character generator and did a little editing of my own on them, so hopefully I won't be getting letters about gorram nightmares or people pissin' themselves. You can see them in their cannibalistic glory here:

Can everyone with access to a scanner create a letter with name, location and a small paragraph as to why you would like the Firefly/Serenity series to continue. Please sign the bottom of this letter and email to me at hasco3000@hotmail.co.uk. The letters will all be mailed to all of the major television networks when a significant number are collected. There is no obligation to do this, but it is a sure-fire way of getting Firefly on their radar. LDTT - Let's do this together. Entries would be best in .pdf format (Adobe Acrobat)

Boy, how many times have we heard that phrase? (Please feel free to replace "Young Lady" with "Son" if you're a guy reading this.) I never thought about this time in my life. You always think about growing up, and, no one did much tell you what you could encounter in your travels, nor much prepare you. Just never gave it a thought I'd have to do this one-day. I'm trying to find housing and/or any kind of assistance be it medical, food or whatever, for my birth mother, yeah birth mother. My father and mother split when I was very young. Lived with my dad my whole life and didn't really have the best relationship with my birth mother growing up. (The reason I call her birth mother is because my stepmother did adopt me, and step-mom is my mother. So for the sake of saying, I will refer to birth mother as "L.") "L" has always needed someone to take care of her. Didn't graduate high school so, not educated so much. Relied on her first husband to take care of things while she raised two kids. This is not a bad thing, she just didn't know how to do anything, was never taught. Once that marriage was over she struggled until she found someone else to take care of her. That was when she lost us to my dad. She did remarry and had a daughter from that marriage. "L" has since divorced from that marriage, but had my sister to rely on. My sister and "L" never separated, not once. Now they live together 5 years, 10, 20 30, and, for I don't know what reason, they have decided to live apart. "L" doesn't collect much money; she has since retired so she is entitled to her Social Security and a small pension from the company she retired from. Sister called me last week and said that "L" was having trouble paying bills and buying prescriptions. In researching her information I discovered that "L" only makes $25 dollars more than her rent is a month. Add on top of that, a $250 heating bill, phone, groceries, gas, etc. she has no money. None! So, here is where I play adult, I've since collected all the information from "L" I think I will need to make a case for her to get some sort of assistance. I've called the Department of Elderly affairs and am now trying to set up an appointment to have someone meet with us. I say I'm playing adult because "L" had all this information and was to meet with someone but, because she is afraid to speak to people, because she get anxious when folk start talking over her head, she becomes confused and very, very upset. I guess she needs me to rely on now, to take care of her, and I guess I will. So I will play adult. After all she is my mother. I do love her and can't see her live on the streets. But why couldn't my sister do this? Hmm………Dunno. Maybe she just got tired. Looks like I'll be playing adult for her too one day. Or, wait, I'm older, hope she takes good notes through all this. I just might need her to rely on one day. Thanks for listening.

So, last night I had a hockey game. At one point I carried the puck in close and took a shot (it'd be cooler if I scored, but it just went off the side of the net.) Then a defense(wo)men on the other team pushed me from behind and I crashed into the goalie and knocked the net off its moorings. The ref whistled the play dead to fix the net, and the center on the other team (who's a good friend) immediate came up and asked the goalie "Are you okay?" So I turned around and said "Is she okay?" No one got it. *sigh*

I just heard that some of the songs from the Bedlam Bards' Firefly-tribute album _On the Drift_ have been added to the rotation at www.Filk.com. So if you haven't had a chance to hear the music, here's your chance. Of course, if you're already convinced, do not pass Go, do not collect $200, just go straight to CDBaby to order _On the Drift_:

So, had to mail a letter to the US of A today, so stopped at the post office to get a stamp. Just as I opened my door, a gust of wind tore it out of my hand and it hit the door of the car beside me... not hard mind, but enough to leave a little kiss of my paint on it... Well, wouldnt' that have been the exact moment that the owner of that brand new shiny car was walking right to it, saw it happen, and then, because it was her brand new car, wanted to swap info... She was young, and a brand new car... so I can understand, but I highly doubt the insurance company is going to pay for her door to be repainted for a tiny scratch.... regardless, we took a picture with our cell phone, just to ensure that she couldnt' claim anymore damage than was done, and swapped info... Put me in a right pissy mood... thank God I have this place to come to cheer me up....

Y'know, I think I might have finally had the big ephiphany regarding the current state of comics today. Over at DC, Wonder Woman is snapping people's necks and the whole Justice League is mind-raping super villains. Superman (or at least Earth-2 Superman, it's complicated) wants to destroy the world. Over at Marvel, we have yet more pointless character deaths and idiotic stunts. Is it really believable that the entire superhero community of the Planet Earth would decide to up and start killing each other over government legislation? Does it make any sense for people who live and fight together, daily, to come to blows overnight for no real reason? Oh wait, I forgot, a bunch of the characters who HAVE NEVER SHOWN ANY KIND OF MACHIAVELLIAN TRAITS have been secretly meeting up and making dark and sinister plans, darkly and sinisterly. Plus, look at Spidey's new costume. Blech. Bottom line, I think they've finally broken me. I'm gonna start phasing comics out of my life now. At least, the new ones. I loves me the DC cartoons, and I'm going to start picking up Marvel's great Eseentials line (reprinting of 20 or so back issues of great characters like Spider-Man and the X-Men at a pop) and enjoy the characters for what they were. That, and I've always got Tobey Maguire's Spidey to keep me company. Thank God for Sam Raimi. On a totally unrelated note now that I've cathartically bared my sould to any reader interested in seeing this, I will shamelessly plug my fanfic! The first eight stories are already up in the BSR (check my profile, it's easier than linking) and the last story, Book's Tale, is in editing right now. With luck, it'll be up by week's end!
