I'm a 36 year old student, mostly-sleeping, on-my-way-to-an-early-grave-if-I-keep-this-crap-up sort of fellow. I'm vanilla white, and sometimes the smartest, funniest guy in the room if you exclude professional smart and funny people. I mean, they get paid for it, right? Not a fair comparison, really...

So, anyway...

I'm in Burbank, CA right now learning sound for the movies. I got tired of selling software to schools -- no matter what sub-category of sales you're in, you end up feeling like the used car variety. It's all about the numbers, and I wanted to get away from that.

I do miss Austin, however. There's a few great places you should go if you like off the beaten path sorts of experiences, like Casino El Camino and The Elephant Room. Casino has some of the best hamburgers in the world served by half-demon tattooed guys, and the Elephant Room has (or at least had before I left) a Django Reinhardt jazz night! If you don't know who Django Reinhardt is, please go to http://www.redhotjazz.com/django.html and learn, man, LEARN! And then there's Gene's, a house turned restaurant with New Orleans style home cooked soul food. Damn!

I also like many cheeses.
