Been reading sci-fi heavily for the past 40+ years (Thanks, Dad) but never involved in fan activities up to now. Only saw a couple of broadcast Firefly episodes due to work schedule and hop-scotch airdates, but knew I'd have liked it. The DVD was a real gift.

Aside from reading, I'm involved in amateur road racing in the Honda Challenge series: http://www.honda-challenge.com. I do a good bit of my own wrenching. Do a bit of woodwork and prefer hand to power tools. Am a tolerable pistol shot, although out of competition for a few years.
