I'm a late-coming Browncoat. I'm a big sci-fi geek but had never heard of the show, I don't have a TV (yes, I hear all the gasps). How I came to the 'verse; I picked up the DVD set a few months before Christmas in '05, thought it looked like a good gift for my father. One night I got bored, opened it, and put it in my computer's DVD player. I was up that whole night, and the next night too, watched all 14 eps in under 48 hours (I was working nights, then, and had a few shifts off in a row).

Well, my father never got the set, I kept it. He had to make do with something else. Then I saw the poster for the DVD of Serenity, and had to have that too . . . (never saw it on big screen, don't you feel sorry for me?).

Firefly is a wonder, and in fact I'm surprised something so good actually got on network TV. Not surprised it didn't last. But we can be thankful for the bits we got, right?
