I think I'd would be pretty cool, if scary as hell!

First test is a 120,000ft dive by(they hope) the end of 2009, second is a whopping 60 mile dive two years later.

Only problem I can see is the transition from hypersonic down to a speed where you can deploy a parachute. The human body doesnt have a lot of cross section at that kind of speed.

I think they are hoping that a drogue chute will stablize and the thicker atmosphere at lower altitudes will slow people enough that they can survive to 3,000 ft to pull a main chute.
