What do people think of it?
Do you think it has any promise?

I think it has potential to be a pretty good show, but I don't forsee greatness. It has CBS style written all over it, which to me is a negative. CBS tends to dumb down its shows and skew them to an older/family audience.
Still the premise is intriuging, and I will probably stick with it.
Of the newshows this season I have seen so far:
Smith and Studio 60 are the best. Great quality.
Heroes looks very good, but after 1 episode is still a little hard to judge.
Vanished is good although I am worried it is going to get cancelled without conclusion.
Jericho and Kidnapped are both pretty good.
Runaway looked ok, but like Heroes, I have only seen 1 episode.
Til Death, my wife loves, and I can tollerate it.
Six Degrees sucked harder than Christy Canyon. Avoid at all costs! Even Tom Brady's girlfriend being one of the stars and J.J. Abrahms being one of the creators couldn't salvage that piece of dung.
Still waiting on The Nine, which I hear may be the best new show this year, and Knights of Prosperity which looks like it could actually be a unique sit-com.

Gotta say I agree, Patsrule. Jericho is good, but not great. Besides, Skeet Ulrich is getting on my nerves, and I've only seen 2 episodes.
He gives everyone different answers to similar questions, so I guess I'm supposed to be like "Oooh, there's something deep/suspicious with that guy." but come one, it's Skeet Ulrich.
Smith is really well done as well, but I find I'm staring at Ray Liotta's distorted cosmetic surgery bloaty stretched face more than anything else.

I keep wanting it to get better. I thought Episode 2 was a little better than Episode 1, but not a lot.
I missed Heroes. I'm just kicking myself now. I wonder if I can still get into it with the second episode?
And of course I am counting down till Friday night at 9/8 central...

I believe you can see the whole premier on NBC.com still.

I liked it. It caught me when I was flipping through channels, and though it was only the second episode I watched I was able to follow what had happened. Great premise and though it has the requisite pretty people it was refreshing to see an older man have a wife of the same age and not one half of that. And a TV show dealing with a nuclear strike in this day and age? They have cahouna's to even mention it. Just watching that guy place pins all over the US map gave me shivers. Problem I have with it is they only show the US. There are other country's nearby you know. I'll watch to see how it develops.
I'm liking Eureka a lot. It doesn't take itself all that seriously, and when it does they remember to add just a little bit of humor to pull you back in (remind you of anything?) This weeks epi was a little weak but of all the shows out there this has sparked my interest more than anything and well the sherrif and Stark are all kinds of nummy to the eyes.
I'm still not sold on Hero's, I don't know what they're really trying to do but put some spandex on them and I'd think I was watching a lesser version of X-Men. And again, I know this is a US show but do you think MAYBE we can see some people from say, oh I dunno, Canada, Mexico, France, and other places? I think there were 2 people outside the US they showed but the rest were from America. No offence to my American cousin's but as I stated, there are countries outside the States. We'll see I guesse.
As to the others, never heard of them and I hardly ever watch TV these days, but if these 3 shows get better it just might suck me back in. I just hope any new GOOD show isn't on Fux, cause we all know what'll happen if it is.
On a side note, Veronica Mars is something I just can't get into.
If I'm a bitch, then life just got interesting

I've enjoyed the first couple of episodes. I agree that it'll probably never be 'great', but so far it's good enough to keep me looking forward to next week's, at least.
Just hoping it doesn't turn into "The Day After", with everyone getting radiation poisoning, their hair falling out, etc. Not Steve Guttenberg's finest role (he'll always be Mahoney to me
)...
Also hoping that if they're going to keep having a new crisis each episode, Skeet Ulrich isn't the heroic savior EVERY... SINGLE... TIME!!

I think people are reading in too much too soon on this show. Although it may well turn out to be a nuclear strike, we don't know for sure that it is yet. It could be something completely different. We don't know anything other than what the characters in the show know. We know they were scared of the rain, but to this point, we don't know if the rain contained radiation, and prior to the rain, there was no radiation in the air.

If you think people in Kansas care about strikes in other countries, you are crazy. It makes the show more authentic, if anything that they aren't focused on what is going on outside the country. And as far as Heroes being mostly Americans...hello...its an American show. Be happy there were any characters from outside America. When there are only 6 or 7 main characters so far and two are not from the U.S., I don't see much to complain about. I am not offended, but I think that is a silly reason to not like the show.
