My wife and I just finished watching the entire Buffy series. We had never watched it before but because of Serenity / Firefly we took the chance and bought the complete series on DVD in November.

How could I have missed this show?

My favorite season of the show is season 2 with Angel turning back to his evil ways. It was just fantastic and kept me on the edge of my seat watching as Buffy was forced to finally kill Angel. My second favorite season is easily season 6. I love the Trio. Warren, Jonathan, and who was that other guy? Just kidding Andrew were just a geek like me dream characters. You can easily see the writers enjoying throwing in every Star Wars / Trek / Potter, ect... reference in to everything they do. Also Season 6 gave us Dark Willow possibly the best villian of the series.

My favorite character was Anya. I was devastated to see her die but Xanders line in the final episode to Andrew made her death worth while. I know most of you have seen these episodes over and over again but I just wanted to share my joy with this show and would love to just personally shake Joss's hand for giving the world Buffy and Firefly.

Now I start watching Angel for the first time..... (please no Angel spoilers)

You might want to check out which eps are the cross over eps. Then you can watch the Buffy ep before the Angle ep to get the full continuity of the story.

eg. Remember when the invicible vampire ring was found and Buffy sent it to Angle? Well that actually showed up in the very next Angle ep.

eg. There was also when Buffy's mom died and Angle went to meet her.

Just so you get the full enjoyment

I was thinking of embarking on the great Buffy-viewing quest myself. Having made some Firefly/Buffy disc exchanges to get a taste of the vampire show, I have sort of a peculiar question for you. How did you go about watching the series in its entirety? For example, one episode a day? Marathon weekends? How did that work out? I once calculated that you could watch an entire season of The X-files in under twenty hours, but who in their right mind would do this? Only someone crazy like me would do this. Any suggestions?

I got the Chosen Collection for my birthday in November. We would watch an episode when ever we felt like it. We would watch more near the end of each season because of how the story would be wrapping up.

12 episodes in season 1 plus 22 episodes in 6 other seasons = 144 total episodes. at 42 minutes an episode (average time) it takes 100.8 hours or rather 4.2 days of nonstop viewing to see the whole series. If you choose to tie in 5 seasons of angel you'll kick it up to 7.4 days.

I chose to watch the angel episodes intertwined with buffy. So starting with season 4 buffy I'd watch the BTVS episode 1 followed by the angel season 1 episode 1. Back and forth I went until BTVS season 7 was over and Angel 5 went on uninterupted.

Do not fear me. Ours is a peaceful race, and we must live in harmony.

We bought season 1 of Angel last week at Sam's Club for $18. Can't beat that. We watched 5 episodes so far. While I like it it is no where near as good as Buffy. I see Angel as Joss's way of writing for Batman. I already saw the episode with Spike and Oz and the ring that he brings Angel from Buffy so I am excited to see the other cross over episodes.

So Spacecowgirl. What other message board would I know you from?
