Obviously he was killed by the C.I.A. before he could implicate members of the current U.S. administration in some skulduggery or other.

I think he died of boredom. The tribunal has gone on for a number of years already and hasn't really been going anywhere at any pace. Last week one of Milosevic's 'buddies' committed suicide, probably because the entire war crime hearings were like continuously watching a Rosie O'Donnell Show marathon in slow motion for 4 or 5 years and he couldn't take it anymore, and now it seems that Milosevic was pretty sick and tired of it too.
The real question is what this says about the effectiveness of war crime tribunals such as the one in The Hague. They drag on for ages even though it's clear to everybody what the verdict is going to be, if one ever gets to that stage. The Saddam trial has a real danger of going the same way.
Other people can occasionally be useful, especially as minions. I want lots of minions.

"Today, I have filed an official request to the tribunal to have the autopsy carried out in Moscow, having in mind his claims yesterday that he was being poisoned in the jail," Tomanovic told reporters in The Hague.
Acting on a request from Milosevic, Tomanovic said he had made a request for protection for his client to the Russian embassy in The Netherlands and to the Russian Foreign Ministry in Moscow.
"I demanded protection for Slobodan Milosevic over his claims that he was being poisoned. I still haven't received any reply and that's all I have to say at this time," the lawyer said.
Milosevic conducted his own defense at the war crimes trial. Tomanovic acted as his legal representative in other matters as well as helping him prepare his defense.

Milosevic found dead in his cell
Former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic has been found dead in the detention centre at The Hague tribunal.
The tribunal said an autopsy would be conducted to establish cause of death, but there was no indication of suicide.
Zdenko Tomanovic, a lawyer for Mr Milosevic, says the autopsy should take place elsewhere as his client said he was being poisoned in the jail.
Mr Milosevic, 64, had been held at the UN war crimes tribunal for genocide and other war crimes since 2001.
Treatment dispute
Mr Milosevic suffered from high blood pressure and a heart condition.
Last month the tribunal rejected a request by the former president to go to Russia for medical treatment.
The BBC's Geraldine Coughlan at The Hague says Mr Milosevic's death is a blow to prosecutors, who had been hoping to convict him as being part of a joint criminal enterprise that operated across the former Yugoslavia, intent on setting up a greater Serbian state.
Mr Milosevic faced charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity for his alleged central role in the wars in Bosnia, Croatia and Kosovo during the 1990s.
He also faced genocide charges over the 1992-95 Bosnia war, in which 100,000 people died.
His lawyer told BBC News 24 that Mr Milosevic would not have committed suicide because he wanted to complete his trial, which had been due to restart on 14th March and was scheduled to end in May this year.
"In fact he said to me a few weeks ago. 'I hadn't fought this case for as long as I have with any intention of to do any harm to myself, Mr Kay'. And that is why he wanted medical treatment," Steven Kay said.

Both his parents committed suicide so I would assume that there is a history of mental illness or depression in his family. I'm not sorry he is dead, I just wish he had been judged first.
