That word "naturally" is as purely political as it gets. Naturally, ExxonMobil, the American Petroleum Institute, the Charles G. I followed your link. It is a small story written by a guy who offers his opinion. He makes claims and sends you to others who make the same claims. They use statements from the 50's to make their case today. Well they were right in the 50's about global warming but their timing was off a bit. Science has come a long way since then and we can measure things better today, 65 years later. That the polar ice caps are the same today as in 1979 as stated in one of the links provided is total bull. I posted a video here called chasing ice that proves that statement to be completely false. That is what causes warming. Taking the measurements and doing the math is very evolved, but knowing what causes warming and keeping track of the gasses responsible are not.

c02 accounts for 0.03 of our atmo. Many climate scientists even doubt that it drives warming, and in fact may be the result of it instead.

The circumference of the earth at the equator is 24,901.55 miles, The ozone layer is about 30 miles from the Earth's surface. If you leave the hose running in the pool, eventually the pool fills.

The current episode of global warming has been attributed primarily to increasing industrial CO2 emissions into Earth's atmosphere. The global annual mean concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere has increased markedly since the Industrial Revolution, from 280 ppm to 400 ppm as of 2015. The present concentration is the highest in the past 800,000 years and likely the highest in the past 20 million years. The increase has been caused by anthropogenic sources, particularly the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation

Each year we dump this into our atmosphere, each year Rappy do the math. The Sun is 93 million miles away. Our ozone is only 30 miles up. It traps everything we put there each year and it accumulates.

The age of the planet has nothing to do with global warming. The fact that it has survived this long means it is durable, more so than man. Our end is what we are trying to avoid. Nitrous oxide is released as a result of the use of nitrogenous fertilizers. CFC use has been reduced and will cease altogether because of its damaging effect on the ozone layer. The relatively small amounts of water and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere absorb and re-radiate heat from the earth to bring about the greenhouse gas effect. Scientists are concerned that adding more CO2 to the atmosphere by burning fossil fuels may upset the natural balance. As the earth warms a little due to increased CO2 in the atmosphere, a little more water evaporates from the sea. This further increases global warming.”

You trot out false, biased, incomplete and/or irrelevant facts AS IF they're relevant to the topic - MY BACK YARD is still the same! - Arctic sea ice EXTENT means global ice isn't disappearing!

HENCE (in your shriveled thing that substitutes for a brain) there's no global warming!

Then when accurate facts are presented that counter your argument, you bail on the discussion and make pronouncements that THOSE facts don't matter because - you have some kind of feeling about the topic.

What do you have to say SPECIFICALLY - based on evidence and not on your 'feelings' - about the fact of the global disappearance of ice? Is it happening? Is it significant? If not - WHY is it not significant? Does it not indicate a global change in climate? Does a global change in climate not show the earth is entering into new and unpredictable state? Does that new and unpredictable state not create a problem for the survival of large numbers of humans and whole species (both already under threat or already gone)? Is the endpoint of this process KNOWN to be benign in the long term? Or can the rocky mass we call Earth still exist, but as a Venus?

What I get about you, little rappy, is that unless your masters at FAUX tell you there is an immediate threat TO YOU - MUSLIMS!!!! - you are serenely unconcerned. Pretty much the rest of the globe thinks it's a problem and wants a solution - even 90%+ of the Chinese think their government isn't doing enough.

You have to wonder what specific processes and what confluence of vested interests caused such a large fraction of the US to be so pathological about reality - and survival.

Did you ever see The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus? I found it almost unwatchable because of the logical inconsistencies - and btw if Heath Ledger believed its message then I wonder how accidental his death was - but I thought it was to some extent a criticism of the movie industry, and how it preys on people's desire for a favored fantasy over reality. Or more generally, the corrosive effect of freely indulging in fantasy.

And there was a sagging aging Heath in the middle of it,

as a lesson in what he was in reality,
and not as a deliberately crafted A Knight's Tale fantasy reprise we would want him to be.

But anyway - kids just don't make up these fantasies out of nothing. They're taught them, and the fantasies are reinforced over time, until those notions become part of people's identity and their view of reality.

Who teaches them? Who reinforces it?

Sigh. If I had more time I would try to trace their historical evolution and the groups actively fostering, disseminating, and exploiting the memes. I think it would show us who's running the society to their benefit. It sure isn't us.

Who do I think is running the world? It isn't a secret cabal making decisions behind our backs and manipulating us to follow. Our simplest technologies are running the world. What could be simpler than a fire burning fossil fuel? Even cavemen understood fire and stone arrowheads.

Then there is money, another simple technology that people easily grasp. In Texas, the idea of making money from oil has fired up imaginations for generations (see the movie Giant about a Texas oil tycoon).

The alternatives to fire are unfamiliar to the 21st century cavemen. Talk of climate change is too complicated for primitive men. It makes cavemen anxious. Cavemen think it is better, and certainly easier, not to think of it. The cavemen mock and slander scientists who do think about climate change so that the cavemen can feel superior and practical. And it is more practical to ignore climate change. Eventually that practicality may prove to be a huge mistake.

As executor I get to make the decisions about what to fix. Some of the decisions are life and death -- too grim for delicate me: today it was euthanizing Shirley's calico cat Rosie because of kidney and liver failure. Tomorrow will be deciding if I should find a different home for Suzy Q, Shirley's dog. The new owner, friend of Shirley who cared for the dog before Shirley died, didn't do right by Suzy Q during the storm. I shall blame global warming for these problems because I don't wanna take the blame.
