-And that the public servant, having served and protected, has had a chance to reflect on the evils of stopping to think for a moment and actually serving and protecting

I can agree with that statement, mostly. There is always a reason, but was it a legal, or legitimate one ?

Cops are trained to use guns as a last resort. They're also trained to use them to put the immediate threat down, and keep it down. That means, blutnly, lethal use of force. Not firing in the air as a warning, not shooting to wound, like some old western movies.

Shots fired doesn't necessarily mean shots landed. Fire 3 shots at an oncoming target, and you could have not hit it once. If the target is still approaching, you keep firing. I'd like you to find any police force which will say otherwise.

Of course, since Grand Juries are spoon fed a bullshit narrative by the prosecutor more closely resembling a faery tale than anything existing in the real world, the only reason for delay in this matter is them repeatedly calling bullshit on said prosecutor and requiring extreme methods (up to and including threats against their family, custody of their children, etc) to get them to bow down, kiss the ring and do what the petty tin god prosecutor demands, since no matter how many laws he breaks he isn't liable, and they're legally allowed to lie and even frame people - such is "justice" in america.

As for the why and wherefore, well that's easy, just have a look at this thread, yes ?

That's the statement of this shooting regardless the reason. Officer Wilson was speaking volumes with his actions, and he was speaking for all the nervous Nellie's out there that feel threatened by the fact that people of color will no longer be the minorities in the country. So they join the police forces across this country with the agenda to shoot to kill as many as you can. Don't worry about justification, we'll make shit up as we go along. The System will back us, because we still hold the positions of power in this country.
