Prison/poverty and the middle east are cultural and circumstancial situations, so on this we agree. I will also conceed that some psychopaths are the result of genetics, though many are made by society.
I don't think psychopaths actually make up the significant percentage of rape. Most rapists are perfectly normal people who temporarily became very, very stupid.

You really don't believe DNA can control us, do you? I know it's a disconcerting thought, but I believe it controls far far more, and so would every geneticist out there. Once you know about the myriad of little things that having a genetic disorder can control, you should get it. It would take years to list everything, it really would...
If you have DNA that constantly spits out sex hormones, you are GOING to think about sex more.
If you have DNA that tells your body to spit out adrenaline, you are going to either have anxiety or become hooked on running or playing games that are high stakes.
If your body lacks oxytocin, you are likely to be unable to connect to other people.
While DNA can be manipulated through drugs and chemicals- that end result is STILL a result of your DNA.
While it's possible the drugs you were given could have had a temporary effect it's much more likely something in your DNA was directly responsible for your sexual attitudes.

It's permanent. It's a particular side effect of SSRIs and how they interact with sex hormones during puberty. I didn't develop properly because of it. And I can't go through puberty again, so I'm sort of metaphorically screwed.

I'm sorry Chris, but they aren't some unknowable evil or mental health train wreck. They're as normal as most of you people around here. You can't just walk down the street and say yep, that guy's a rapist, that guy isn't. A rapist tends to be the person you least expect, a friend, a family member.
And some of the people around here by their own admission have been fairly borderline in what they've allowed to happen or even participated in as it is. :/
Since it's normal, I guess I shouldn't judge.

Not in the modern times. You should see Dubai sometime, it's more ethnically diverse than New York.
Also considering our entire european stock comes from the middle-eastern Indo Aryan genetic group, we should technically be as rapey as most of Afghanistan.
We aren't, because religion. Which is culture. And that isn't necessarily all of the religions in question, because followers of those religions can actually be moderates in more moderate cultures.

I believe you are being unfair to neanderthals. There is no evidence that they would have been more into rape than homo sapiens.
Byte is correct. Human evolution is a result of women being looked after throughout pregnancy and labour, and afterwards enough to nurture children to independence. we evolved to care for each other and our young as social animals.
When women are treated as inferiors in a society, they are more likely to be seen as chattels for use by men. Less than men, with not the same personhood as men. In such societies, chattels are owned by men. And carelessly left out chattels may be used by other men. That is the mind set that condones male harrassment of women and condemns women for not being under the guard of their man.
