Goes back to what I was saying from the start... these guys generally don't keep prisoners , for any length of time. They like killin' 'em.

After Bergdahl disappeared, “IEDs started going off directly under the trucks. They were getting perfect hits every time.”
CNN) – Former Army Sgt. Evan Buetow was the team leader with Bowe Bergdahl the night Bergdahl disappeared.
“Bergdahl is a deserter, and he’s not a hero,” says Buetow. “He needs to answer for what he did.”
Within days of his disappearance, says Buetow, teams monitoring radio chatter and cell phone communications intercepted an alarming message: The American is in Yahya Khel (a village two miles away). He’s looking for someone who speaks English so he can talk to the Taliban.
“I heard it straight from the interpreter’s lips as he heard it over the radio,” said Buetow. “There’s a lot more to this story than a soldier walking away.”
The Army will review the case of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl “in a comprehensive, coordinated effort,” Secretary of the Army John McHugh said Tuesday.
The review will include speaking with Bergdahl “to better learn from him the circumstances of his disappearance and captivity,” he said.
The night Bergdahl disappeared, says Buetow, the platoon was at a small outpost, consisting of two bunkers and a perimeter of military trucks. Buetow was in one of the bunkers, and Bergdahl was supposed to be in a tent by one of the trucks.

Just popped in here out of curiosity, read the first page of this thread. It's all I needed to see to remind me why I don't spend time here anymore. Absolutely amazes me how much time and energy supposedly intelligent people here will spend just FEEDING Rap, over and over and over for, what, now THREE pages?
Chris, I'm saddened you have so little in your life you will spend hours feeding the ego of someone who apparently gets his entire life's worth from nothing but poking people in the eye. It's weird; I had thought better of you for so long.

Anyway, I haven't delved into this thread deeply, but I personally think this was more than political miscalculation on Obama's part. Things are moving in the background- Obama went to visit our tyrannical, religiously fanatic and absolutely wealthy royal Saudi friends a few months ago. No reportage of what they discussed. Bandar "Bush" bin Sultan is out. The Qataris (regional rivals of the Saudis) are probably ecstatic to be the go-betweens. Perhaps this is a quid pro quo arrangement. Don't be simpletons when evaluating the news, because very little is as it seems, even Benghazi.
